Family owned & operated. While Florida is a great place to live, the warm, moist climate also acts as a breeding ground for unwanted pests. For over 80 years, our Florida pest control company has diligently worked to eliminate nuisance and potentially damaging insect and rodent infestations for Northern Florida homeowners. As a longtime pest control provider, we realize pest control is an ongoing battle; one that requires technical expertise and knowledge of the local pest pressures in order to be the most effective.
"McCalls is the worst lawn care service I have ever had, besides Safari, who were also horrible. My grass is light brown with clovers all in it. I have chinch bugs near my driveway. They did a absolutley horible job. I would never recomend them to anyone."

"A raccoon intruded in the attic of a house and Trapper John was contacted for emergency service as a family was living in the home. Although the issue was eventually resolved I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND due to my experience with the team from contact to the technicians. What went wrong: 1. Not sure if he still works there, but, my primary phone contact was Scott. He was rude a few times throughout the days it took to resolve this issue. 2. I believe due to the nature of their work commonly being emergency services they are able to overcharge especially by offering a price on the spot during the consultation. 3. Technician and phone contact assured me the issue would be resolved within 24 hours and the issue persisted for over 72 hours with me having to continually follow up for updates on their plan to resolve this issue. 4. The technician did not properly secure a hole he had to open in the ceiling of the house to remove baby raccoons and endangered a family living there when one fell through into the living room. 5. Terrible recommendations knowing a family was living in the home: After having difficulties capturing them, a suggestion was made to "leave baby raccoons in the attic to die and let the house air out", a suggestion was made to cut a hole in the roof at 8:30pm on a Sunday with no plan/ability repair it immediately. 6. Part of the service was replacing soffit vents for prevention and when I stopped by the house after service was complete several vents around the house had not been replaced and I had to contact Trapper John to have the technician return and replace those. Overall the job was done and I was given a year long warranty on the raccoon removal and soffit vent replacement. Fortunately, the issue did not reoccur however I would not recommend this company if you find yourself in a similar situation. FYI: A day after posting my review on another platform, I was contacted by a woman at Trapper John and offered a partial refund only if I agreed to remove my review. I refused as I believe it's UNETHICAL and potential customers deserve honest and authentic reviews for the services they pay for. So I will post my honest experience on all platforms I am able."

"I believe they wrote their termite inspection report to entice my mortgage company to force me to pay for their service. I asked them to rewrite the report to only state the facts and not include their opinion, but they refused. The garage with the dead termites they found had obviously been treated due to the presence of all the dead termites. It also was built with pressure treated lumber, which I'm told termites do not eat. This place is a scam at best in my opinion. Buyer beware. I spoke to the owner, Ed Williams, and this is what I took from the conversation: He has been scamming people in this manner almost his whole life. He claims he is a good guy and donates to the community, so I should feel good that some of the money he took from me went to a good cause. The comments section of the form where they put their treatment opinion must be filled per their policy, not per the department of agriculture. The dept. of ag. regulates pest control companies. Thanks, Ed! I reached out to them. Now to address what he misunderstood from the conversation. My mortgage company required me to get another report. I liked the first report. It included evidence that the seller treated for termites and noted the dead termites. I includes pictures of the relevant sections of the reports, so everyone can see. I find it interesting in his response to my Google review that he never mentioned termites do not eat pressure treated lumber. I wonder how many people this company has cheated out of home ownership in 36 years. How much stress have they created for buyers, sellers, and real estate agents in 36 years? How much profit have they made from other’s misery? I could have found much better things to do with almost $1200. It’s sad that this is allowed to happen in our country. You found dead termites, Ed. The reports showed no live termites. The treatment was your opinion, not fact. If it was fact and part of the report, you wouldn’t have to put it in the comments section. Closing on a house is time sensitive. I didn't have a choice to start over with a third company. You are a scam artist and not American in my opinion."

Different pest control methods exist to help mitigate an infestation. Not every technique will work with every pest, which is why speaking with a pest control expert is crucial to taming your problem. Different methods of pest removal include:
Heat treatments
Freezing treatments
Traps
Barriers
Chemical pesticides
Fumigation
Rodenticides
Mechanical devices
Repellants
The cost of pest control is $175 for the average homeowner. However, you could spend as little as $100 or as much as $500 or more, depending on the infestation size, the number of visits you need, and the pest you’re exterminating.
For example, if you need to rid your home of spiders, you’ll likely be spending between $100 and $300. However, if you have a termite problem, you can expect a bill of $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the infestation size and damage caused.
There are specific methods for pest removal that you can DIY without hiring an expert. If you are preventing pests from making an appearance or clearing out a small infestation of harmless insects, you will likely have success on your own. However, if you’re dealing with pests that eat wood, bedbugs, or other pests that carry a disease risk, like rodents, it’s always worth it to call a pest professional to help you.
Even if you’re not immediately showing signs of pests, it’s a good idea to get into the habit of routine pest control. This should be done yearly, quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly, depending on your location and if any signs of infestation are already present. For example, if you live by water, you might experience more pests in the spring and summer than someone who lives in a dry climate. Discuss treatment options with your pest professional to determine a suitable schedule for you and your home.
While not every infestation is preventable, there are some actions you can take to minimize the risk of running into these pests in your home. These actions include:
Keeping your home tidy. This includes vacuuming regularly, sanitizing your kitchen, storing food in airtight containers, disposing garbage regularly, and keeping your home clutter-free.
Deep clean at least twice a year. Deep cleaning neglected crevices and corners of your home can help prevent breeding grounds from forming.
Repairing your home when needed. If your home has cracks or holes, you have an open invitation for pests to come in. Remove any standing water and seal any gaps in your floors, walls, and foundation.
Cleaning up your yard. Keep shrubbery and branches well-trimmed and away from your home. Remove fallen leaves and other debris.
Be smart with storage. If you use firewood, store it away from the home (at least 20 feet away if possible) and off of the ground.
