 + -1 moreThe contractor showed up when expected and went to work removing shingles on the roof and the vinyl siding on the chimney. He found the flashing was poorly installed and caused the rot which caused the leak. He replaced the decking, repaired the trusses, rebuilt the chimney frame, installed a cricket, laid moisture barrier, flashed the chimney and replaced the shingles with look-alike shingles that matched the old shingles nicely. Part of the contract was to put in a roof vent for the 2nd bathroom fan (it was installed exhausting to the ridge vent by the builder-not to code). This he did on the second day. The crew completely cleaned up after themselves and left the area in pristine condition. I would recommend Terry Sowell to anyone who wants a quality job at a very reasonable price. This company deserves 5 stars. Please note: I received 3 quotes from well known roofers, with good reputations, in the area.

Description of Work: Reroofed a 3-bedroom house. Removed old shingles, replaced several rotten sections of plywood, installed new flashing around chimney, and new shingles. Completed job in 1-3/4 days.

Description of Work: The worse service I ever received. When giving estimate for roof they were nice, but once they started to work on the roof they ignored all requests not to trample the garden, step on open water pipe being repaired and worse, they broke a window. After the job was done I kept finding tons of nails in the yard. It gets worse. When the county inspected their work, it failed. Terry Sowell's roofing was to follow up and make the necesarry repairs, They kept promising to come out but wouldn't show. If you followed up to see when they were coming out, they were rude. Even the receptionists stated they could not get their workers to work . After numerous promises of coming to make the repairs, I talked to Terry Sowell himself to try to get a firm commitment when they would be coming. He blamed it on my house's age (this was the first time I heard this) and was ticked that I was following up on when they were going to repair the roof according to the inspector's report. He told me to shut up, made more excuses, leaving me wondering if or when they wold make the repairs. This is still an ongoing issue, but after paying them in full, Terry Sowell and staff are the most unprofessional people I have dealt with in my 57 years. If all is done correctly and you have no problems, than you may be satisfied, but if there are problems with your roof, it will be h getting them to take care of it once you paid. And to think, their work came with a guarantee -- good luck on getting them to honor it. Only use them if you know they will complete the job without any problems -- but if their are problems be ready to put up with them making promises they can't keep, they don't bother calling you to let you know they are not coming and if you don't mind being treated rudely and them treating you as if your time does not matter, than they are the roofers to use.

 + -1 moreThey were okay. The communication was a little hard but they were very nice. They did a good job. It was very good but not excellent. The price was fair. The workers were excellent. They didn't even have the paper submitted when the inspector was supposed to come so it was not really great.

 + -1 moreTerry did abosolutely fantastic work. The first thing I noticed and appreciated was that the fact that they bring a trailor on the property so they can consistenly throw away debris and garabage. Everyday they left, you could hardly tell they were there they cleaned up so well! I would describe Terry and his crew as extremely hard working, incredibly respectful and a pleasure to work with. They were puntcual and prompt and the roof looks better than ever. I highly reccomend their services.
Description of Work: Terry re-roofed my entire home and replaced the rotten wood around the chimney and the back and west side of the roof.

 + -1 moreThe job went well. When the crew arrived, the materials had already been delivered and placed on the roof. The guys got right to work. There were 4 guys working on the job and even though one had a death in the family while he was working on our house, they were still able to finish the entire job in the 2 1/2 days they said they would. They did a great job and tidied up after themselves. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: The crew removed the old roof down to the wood, checked for bad spots, repaired a leak we knew we had, replaced the 3 skylights, installed new roof vent covers, installed the new underlayment and shingles. In addition removed all debris and did an extra thorough check for nails laying on the ground.
