Always something needs trimming or removing in our 3 acres in Jacksonville. Neighbors too will call on Mac's for help as they too are well pleased with reliable work.
Description of Work: Prepping for 2020 Annual Hurricane Season, and worrying about a tree near pool fence that had already been dropping small branches, I called Mac's Tree Service (MTS) for an estimate. The written estimate for the needed work was very reasonable and having experienced their excellent work in the past, i looked no further. Fearing another branch falling on our 2 Boxers, Wife or myself, or into the pool, I called MTS for possible start date. We had used this 'Been Around', 4th Generation Company, in the past & they clearly were the best around in Tree Service. Previously before Hurricane Matthew hit Jacksonville in 2017., MTS had performed ‘Crown Reduction Service’ on an Old 400 year Live Oak that grows over our barn & much of our property. MTS removed about 8 tons of branches & used their Bobcat to move to back of property for me to later dispose. (Grand plan but still there, too many other things to do first you know). MTS’ work on the Grandfather tree likely saved our barn & pump house! Later that same year when Irma came through, High gusts dropped a Pecan tree into the pool and punctured roof over a bedroom ceiling. I again called MTS for help and the tree was quickly removed so roof could be sealed to reduce more rain damage inside bedroom. This 2020 year's call for help was immediately responded to with Estimator Pearson McMahan. He pointed out an 8" hole halfway up the trunk and told me "Tree was Dead, needed removal". Estimate was accepted and work began shortly thereafter. Crew arrived early one morning as scheduled, began work and very soon the tree was removed, debris moved to neighbor's pond/hole for fill-ins. One man even used rake to sweep and pile leaves together and placed in my 'Yard Waste' barrel. Talk about 'clean up'; except for the tree being gone it was hard to tell they had even been here! They worked Safely w/o risk to team or property. Efficiently & expediently completed to our 100% satisfaction. Pearson & his MTS team well earned our respect for their Professionalism and praise for their hard work; and definitely will be used again when necessary. In fact MTS will soon return to neighbor’s property for more extensive work on her property; including using Bobcat to move downed trees into the dried up pond to fill in with trees & branches. Another neighbor contacted crew while here and ask about estimate on some work she needed on her trees. As my work was nearly completed rest of crew crossed street and felled a tree on her property and removed all debris.. She too is well satisficed with MTS work. Neighbors that have used MTS have never been disappointed in their service. No unwanted debris is left behind & they always professionally clean up their work site. I personally recommend MTS for similar Tree service. Their Team is Safe, Honest, Professional & Hard Working, and you never hear curse words or any complaining. they don't stand around! + -1 moreWe did not know who to call to cut down our huge black-jack oak tree and a few dead dogwoods. Thankfully, I mentioned wanting tree work done within earshot of our neighbor, who had hired Mac’s a couple of years ago. Excellent experience from the get-go! I called Mac’s, and Tanya said she would have someone out that day to give us a price. Pearson was prompt when arriving that evening and handed me the proposal right then. On the day we scheduled, the crew showed up on time and went to work; far exceeding my expectations with everything they touched. After an amazing show of felling limbs using a rope that allowed them to fall gracefully to the ground, they blew off our pool deck and driveway that was littered with leaves before they even arrived. Gage ground some stumps that I had planned to dig up myself. Our neighbor wanted some of our wood for his smoker, and they helped pull out prime pieces for him. I’m so pleased with their strong work ethic and manners. All said yes mam and no mam; something we don’t hear much anymore. Reminded me so much of my brother Cliff, who used to do all our tree work for us, and when I’d ask him how much we owed, he’d say, “can you make me some chicken n dumplings?” Today kind of felt like having family here and I had to remind myself to keep it professional. Speaking of price; it was very fair, and I was pleased to pay them for a job well done; not to mention all the little extras they did that showed me how much they cared that we are satisfied customers. I can confidently, and without reserve, highly recommend Mac’s Tree Service to anyone who, like us, just doesn’t know who to call. We will definitely hire Mac’s next season for our oak tree pruning.

From David who provides the estimate, the ladies on the phone that does scheduling to the crew that does the job. The crew is very courteous and professional. Had to remove 2 fence panels to do the job, they were reinstalled with no issues. They always clean up the yard..... rake all the leaves and twigs plus driveway and road in front of the house. Mac’s is my go to for any tree work. Highly recommended!!!

This is the most Professional Tree Service that I have ever had take care of my trees in my whole 52 years of life! They worked from the early morning hours until after the sun went down...and still did an outstanding clean up job! Ended up removing a two trees and my neighbors joined in, so they were able to get three jobs in one and they did this by being professional, courteous and having fair pricing. I was really blown away by this company they are professional! They make removing large trees seem easy, and they removed every bit of the debris. Would definitely recommend this company. + -1 moreLOOK NO FURTHER. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST DEAL IN TOWN AND THEY TOTALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! I purchased three foreclosure properties recently, and they needed new roofs and a whole lot of tree removal, stump grinding, and trimming etc. So, of course I did my homework and had four companies come out and give me bids for all of the work that needed to be done at all three properties. All of the companies were highly rated on Angie's list. One guy had a bid that was about $1,000 less, but he was recommending to only trim a few major branches from the MONSTER tree that was only about 10 feet away from the house. This MONSTER tree was very old, and dropping a lot of debris on the roof and I knew it was aging out, and would eventually need to be removed totally. So ultimately trimming that tree for $1,000 and then later having to remove it for $2,000 would have been a waste of $1,000. One guy who came out to bid the work was clearly insecure about his ability to do the job, and would have had to rent a bucket truck, and told me it would be my responsibility to remove the fence and reinstall it so he could get the bucket truck in place. This totally insecure guy gave me a verbal quote of $11,550, and so I told him not to bother with sending a written estimate by email. The others took up to a week to get me a written quote by email. Save yourself the hassle and just go with MAC'S TREE SERVICE, a decades old family business owned by the father, with one son out giving estimates, and the other son up in the trees. THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE WITH MAC"S TREE SERVICE. They got me the written estimate, and showed up on the designated day at about 9:00 AM at the MONSTER tree house. They had a MASSIVE amount of equipment including a bucket truck, huge stump grinder, bobcat, and dump truck with extension arm that picks up the limbs and loads them into the dump truck. There was one guy in the bucket truck, and about three or four guys on the ground operating all of the other equipment and huge ropes. They really know what they are doing when it comes to bringing down a MONSTER tree and huge branches etc. I felt totally confident watching them do their work and was totally impressed with the teamwork and efficiency with which they operate. After they finished at house number one, they moved on to the second house and repeated the same efficiency there. They were wonderful about accommodating my requests when it came to removing excess overgrowth at this property. When that was done it was on to the third house which needed the least amount of work. While they had scheduled two days, they could see that if they kept on going, they could get it all done in one day. They worked through rain showers and all, and finished up at about 7:30 PM. THEY ARE AWESOME, AND ARE NOW MY GO TO TREE GUYS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EFFICIENT FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS.
Description of Work: This total price includes work done at three separate rental homes that I own. They removed and stump ground five trees, two were HUGE, and the other three were regular size. Then they trimmed up and removed big branches from all of the other trees on all three properties so that there were no branches hanging over any of the roofs. They totally cleaned up the many trees on all three properties and removed any sucker trees I wanted gone.

They removed everything and grinded the stumps all in 1 day. They were very nice and professional and I plan to use them again in the future. Thank you to the team of Mac's Tree Service!

They were pleasant and willing to answer any questions and make suggestions on future needs. They even trimmed up some old limbs on other trees that were not specified in the initial price without charge. They came, were quick and did an excellent job.Service provided was above and beyond what most companies provide these days. I would used them again and would not hesitate to refer them to anyone that needed tree service.
