Chimney Keeper

Chimney sweeping went fine. They then said they found damage/ cracking on the flashing outside of chimney on roof and suggested that they could repair it. I asked them to take pictures of the damage so that I could talk to builder about it as the house is not very old. They said they took pictures and would send them to me along with estimate. Pictures or estimate were never received. I followed up with them a week later and spoke with owner. He said they would get back to me with both right away but never heard back from them. Does flashing really need repair?

Very easy process. Our chimney chase was original and rusted which caused a water stain on our ceiling due to water leakage. He ordered the chase cover and said it would take about 2 weeks to get. Called me 2 weeks later to install and came out very next day. Very helpful and clear in explaining how the overall chimney works. He also cleaned the chimney.

Nick came on time. He was friendly, efficient and professional. First he cleaned the inside of the dryer vent with a brush. Then he removed the hose attached to the dryer and told me it needed to be shortened a bit. He did that and cleaned it out. Then he swept out the outside vent. The whole process took about a half hour. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for this service.

The problem I had with them is that I bought a big deal from them and it took 5 months to use it. I must have called at least 4 times.

It was an Angie's List that we purchased. It was excellent. We hope they did a good job. They seemed to represent themselves as reputable people. The communication was good. They followed through with their commitments and satisfied our needs. We did spend additional.

This is my second time using their service and they are very good at what they do. They are careful to drape the area around the fireplace while working and cleaned up very well before leaving the premises.

They charged $100 for the cleaning and then we also had to have a repair done. We had additional costs but it was for the repair. We were satisfied. They were on time.

When I contacted them through Angie's List, I received a prompt reply. They scheduled me in quickly, called 30 minutes before arrival, arrived on time and got it done. Very friendly and very reasonably priced.

Came and cleaned dryer vent. Examined chimney. They had an older gentleman working with them who was very nice and honest about what work needed to be done on the chimney.

Very disappointed in the lack of response.

I hired the Chimney Keeper to replace my chimney chase cover. I had hired another company to replace it and my chimney cap and unfortunately that company did not know what they were doing. I was suspicious that it might have been done incorrectly and I thought this initial company may have left me with a fire hazard. So I call the Chimney Keeper to come out and inspect. Nick came out and and confirmed my suspicions. He performed a full inspection from the fireplace to the chimney on the roof. He noted a small area in the fireplace that will need my attention in the future, but he did not try to pressure me or sell me any additional services. He only wanted me to be aware of it and keep my eye on it. He gave me a quote to fix the problem of the chimney cap/chase cover and even offered to use parts from the previous contractor to save me money. He ordered what he needed and then came out and did the work. I went up on the roof and watched him. He did everything he said he would and answered all my questions . He even took the time to caulk some areas on my chimney that he noticed needed caulking at no additional cost to me. He was kind, personable, and respectful. He did take a few days to get back to me when I made my first call to the Chimney Keeper, but I am glad I waited for his return phone call. He was worth the wait and I wish I had hired him in the first place! It was wonderful to do business with a company of integrity.

For the most part, everything turned out well. It was easy getting in touch to schedule, and I had no problems with the service performed. The only issue is that they didn't follow up with photos of the chimney as promised.

They were great. They did a great job and they didn’t make a mess. One guy went on top of the chimney and then another guy came down and cleaned it from inside the house. The work turned out fine. Both of them were really nice and very professional. They came out within a week of when I contacted them. It was a good price. My chimney was very dirty and it has never been cleaned since we lived in the house. They got back to me, scheduled the appointment, and showed up right on time.

It turned out good. I hadn't used them before. They cleaned up after themselves. They didn't try to sell me anything extra. They actually went up in my attic, which others hadn't. My vent goes up into my attic.

Great - very timely, professional and we have had no further problems. Highly recommend.

They came, were on-time, professional, did a good job and did not leave a mess. I would use them again. The fireplace grate also is the perfect size for our fireplace. That cost us about $80.

First came out and inspected chimney found chimney vent that hooks to chase vent had fallen down. Was able to vent back up. Ordered new chase vent. Came out and installed chase vent, and caulked around top of the chimney. Also had them clean out our dryer vent. They did an outstanding job. Cleaned up after they were done. Was surprise how much lint was in our vent. If you dryer vent has not been cleaned in two years I would highly recommend them to do it

The service was very good, he went up on the roof, took some pictures, and showed us how part of the chimney had rusted out, he didn't just tell us, he took a picture and I appreciated that. He repaired that. They were very good, they were on time, efficient, and I highly recommend them. They were very friendly, and didn't just say we needed work done, he showed up damages. He also told us of the damage inside the chimney. He was receptive and quick to show up. I would recommend him.

I did not realize that this needed to be done--especially since our dryer vent goes out our roof. It had not been done in 10 years since we had built our house and it was pretty bad. They did a good job of cleaning it out and our dryer works better now. He stays pretty busy, but if you are patient and tenacious, he will get you scheduled and will come when promised.
