Seemless rental of a UHaul truck for a local move. I have rented from other locations but this one is dedicated to Uhaul (not part of a gas station). The facilities are clean, well-lit and the staff is friendly and professional. I made my rental on the phone with Angie who patiently took the time to sort through my options and provided me with the best deal possible. Very friendly. On pick up day there was only a small wait as there were three staff to serve the customers. I was served by Chris who did a great job in putting the paperwork in order, getting me the accessories i needed and on my way. The only drawback was the vehicle I was given had ~168k miles on it (Arizona plates), the steering was a little loose and the transmission was very clunky. It was fine for a local move but I don't think I would have trusted it for a long haul. I recognize that this is par for the course due to the nature of the business. I would highly recommend this Uhaul location.

My daughter and I went to University U-haul to pick up a trailer that she had previously reserved to transfer her possessions from Miami to St. Louis. The outside of the facility was dirty and disorganized, with poor directional signage and no visible customer service. After we eventually found the customer pickup counter, we waited in-line for 20 minutes before being served. Our wait was further frustrated by the fact that there was only 1 other person in-line and there were several employees, including the manager, sitting behind the counter. After reaching the representative, she was curt, spoke in broken English, and had difficulty finding our reservation. After locating our reservation and paying $232 for the rental, we then had to leave the car to have a Class II bolt-on tow hitch installed. We were told that we could not rent the hitch because we were traveling one-way. The installation took about hour longer than promised and cost $308, including a $5 hitch warranty charge that we did not request. I attempted to learn more about safely operating the trailer and the hitch from the mechanic, but he spoke broken English and had no interest in helping. No one else at the facility was available to answer questions or render assistance. We drove the empty trailer the miles back to my daughter s apartment and began loading her possessions. After about 2 hours of work, I noticed that the right tire was flat. Upon closer inspection, I found that both tires had little tread and that the left tire was improperly inflated. We called U-haul and they sent out a mobile mechanic to repair the flat. After again waiting more than 1 hour past the time that the mechanic was promised, he arrived and removed the flat tire. The tire was in such bad shape that it had literally exploded off of the rim. He replaced the wheel with another used unit, although one that was in better shape than the original. He also reassured us that the remaining tire had enough tread as long as we kept our speed under 45 m.p.h. I called the manager the next day to formally register a complaint and express my concern about the trailers condition, particularly since my daughter and I had a 1,200 mile journey ahead of us. Rather than reassure us or offer to provide a newer unit, he was defensive and accused me of causing the flat. This is ridiculous given the original condition of the tire and that we drove less than a mile from the facility. Even the mobile mechanic had commented on the poor condition of the tires and was shocked at the extent of tire damage. After a few more uncivil exchanges, the manager hung up on me.
