From the very first Contact Manny and his crew always on time and very professional. They arrived bright and early and ready to work. Work was done just as stated on my quote, there were no surprises. Work was completed on time and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves, no mess. I would highly recommend them and definitely hire them again.

We initially contacted four companies from Angie's List. We were happy that all responded and felt that we could have easily worked with any of them. The bid from Tomas Luis Building Contractors was among the highest but we felt that Manny captured the essence of the work we wanted done. We were not disappointed. We and our home were treated with the utmost respect by each employee and subcontractor. Mr Luis is a very professional and punctual contractor who is quick to respond to questions regarding scope of work. Quick to return calls and looks out for his clients concerns. Very pleased with the caliber of person that he and his staff present.

The company came out, and looked over all the areas that needed paint. They gave me a Great quote, within budget. And I was very amazed as to their workmanship?their detail, their preparation of the surfaces, and how detailed they were. Used top of the line materials and paint products. I had other issues, and Manny was able to get me an additional quote that fit my budget. The painted areas LOOK so much more cleaner and my House looks stunning.

I have remodeled over 50 homes in the last 10 years. I usually use my own subs and manage the projects with my partner, so I have a pretty good idea of what things cost. We were doing a garage conversion and front facade change to our house. Last year, we remodeled the entire home and it took so much time away from me that my wife thought it might be a good idea to hire a GC to do the work this time. Since I did spend a lot of time on my house last year and this was a pretty small project, I figured, why not, let me get a quote. Manny has been communicating with us via facebook for probably over a year now. He has been seeing some of the work we do and has asked us to consider using him on future projects. So I thought, let me give the guy a chance. After sending him the plans and waiting a couple of weeks for an estimate, this guy sends it to me. First of all, I had already priced everything out. It was going to cost me about $70,000 with all the finishes. We're talking about a simple garage conversion where we are adding drywall, a bathroom, a closet and 2 windows. We just did the exact same thing in another house and it cost us about $22,000. The front is a little more complicated because there would have to be a new retaining wall and some structural work. It's a pretty high end remodel to modernize an old cottage style house and give it a nice high wall, sleek line look with wood and metal accents. Fine. Priced out at around $50,000. Are you sitting down while you're reading this? This guy sent me an estimate of $256,000. And it was not a typo. He marked every single item up like 400%. Then he had the audacity to charge a $10,000 project management fee, a $25,000 overhead fee and a $25,000 "profit." This was the single most offensive quote I have ever gotten from anyone and I have more experience in this business than most. I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish here. I can fathom, maybe, giving a quote like this to someone who doesn't understand the business, but he has been following us and our projects for a year on FB. I mean, the guy charged me ridiculous prices on things, like $25,000 on decorative wood slats that will cost me maybe $2-3,000. Like that. Not even in the same planet. When I called him out on it, he didn't even respond. I guess he figured he would either rip me off and make a ton of money or he would upset me and never have to deal with me again. Terrible. Tread carefully. Below is my response to the provider response to my review. First of all, yes, I have been remodeling homes for 10 years. But they are my homes. Every property I've ever remodeled has been for a property that I own. Last I checked, I don't need a license to do work on my own properties and regardless, my partner is a GC and we work with licensed contractors for all our work. I am not a GC nor am I doing work as a GC. I have never charged anyone for GC work . Just so you get an idea of who you're dealing with here, this man has come back here to rebuttal by wrongly accusing me of committing a Felony offense. He has come on here and knowingly misquoted me. I had never "spoken" to this man, before this review. He flat out lied about that. He said when I've called, he's always responded. The first call I made to this person was last night after I read the response he posted. All of our communications before have been via email. He lied about that. He lied about not getting access to my house. He never requested a field visit. He lied about the $6,000 quote for the wood. I have his estimate that clearly shows $25,000 for decorative wood. And that is not even the worst item on the estimate. It's not about if I didn't like the estimate I don't have to do the work. It's that he knowingly price gauged us. His estimates didn't come in a few dollars higher than anyone else's. He came in 400% higher. He asked why I wasted his time if I had already priced this out. Is it that hard to understand that while I had priced it out I wanted to get an estimate from other GC's to see if it was worth using them? He's not the only estimate I received. I'm not sure what's so difficult to understand here. Then he comes on here and insults me with libelous and false comments, he sends me a private email demanding that I remove my review. He claims that I went "behind his back" with this review when I clearly sent him an email the same day he sent me his estimate and instead of responding, he simply went and blocked us from his facebook, which I find to be completely ridiculous. He is claiming here, on the web, for all to see, that I am a Real Estate Broker working as a GC. He finishes his tirade by telling me that I don't know what I'm doing. This is the kind of person that you are dealing with, so my review remains the same. Tread carefully.

This was a very extensive job. The posts holding up the patio roof were rusted, located wrong and the footings were insufficient to support the roof. The support beams were deteriorated and had to be replaced. The floor tiles were in poor shape and had to be removed. The ceiling panels needed to be replaced. Manny Luis, his father Tomas,the Co. founder, and son Michael were a pleasure to work with. They are extremely competent and meticulous in their work. They explained every thing they did in great detail. They work very clean and do an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves and disposing of debris. They are extremely punctual. The workmanship in all respects was excellent. The replacement of the roof posts, support beams and the new footings all exceeded engineering specs. The existing trusses and supports were reinforced and new hurricane clips installed. All wood involved was painted or sealed. The new metal posts were primed and painted. A red cedar tongue and groove ceiling was installed and sealed. A new porcelain tile floor was installed. The existing accordion shutters were taken down and reinstalled to facilitate the tile work. The affected walls were repainted. The workmanship on the tile was excellent. The edges of the patio slab were all finished off and painted. The patio and surrounding area were left in pristine condition. The workmanship on the front entrance tile was excellent. The door between the garage and kitchen is of high quality and the carpentry is excellent. The job was done very cleanly. They even made sure my driveway was left clean. Any further construction or repair work I need to be done they will be the first ones I call. I highly recommend Tomas Luis Building Contractor.

I have used Tomas Luis Building Contractors, to replace my homes floor tile, base boards, interior paint and exterior paint. My home is approximately 2400 sqft. Manny and his team kept it under budget and were very professional we are extremely pleased and are highly recommended. The job took approximately 3 weeks and they clean up and left that work area impeccable.

Not only is Manny a responsible, reliable and skilled carpenter, his philanthropic nature and friendly nature make him stand out. Manny charitably lent his time and talents to renovating a room into a pleasant and clean space where a young woman dying from AIDS could spend her last days in peace. Ever the professional as he is with his regular jobs, we were more than pleased both with the outcome of the room and Manny's professionalism and generosity during the duration of the charitable project. Manny is an excellent carpenter and we would not hesitate to recommend him
