THE SLAB DEPOT

I looked at their supply of granite and found some I liked. I asked for a specific fabricator that they had suggested to me the last time I was there and they strongly suggested another fabricator. They called the fabricator and he immediately came to The Slab Depot to meet me. Based on their strong recommendation, I hired this fabricator and was defrauded in the amount of $2400.00. The fabricator - Millenium Tops- of Oakland Park, FL took my deposit and then never showed up to install my granite. I went to The Slab Depot to tell them. They took no responsibility for their recommendation even though they said he was at the top of their list of recommended fabricators. I would not ever use a supplier who does not stand behind and vet their recommended fabricator/installers.

We were sent to The Slab Depot by our kitchen contractor to pick out the slab for our granite. The yard in Pompano seems small and out of the way but in fact, it has a very nice selection of slabs at good prices. It feels like the type of place a contractor buys at as opposed to a designer--not fancy and no showroom. You just walk around the yard and "leaf" through the slabs there. They are a bit meager on the staffing side--and could use more help in the sales side especially. But I think the quality of what we received for the price, far out-weighed some of the sales shortcomings.

I heard about Slab Depot from my granite installer/fabricator. They are located in an industrial part of Miami and do not have a shiny showroom. However, they make up for it with a friendly attitude and great prices and selection. Slab Depot mostly deals with the trade. To use them, you will already need a fabricator/installer or a designer to help you find one. If you have both of those things, your reward will be incredible prices and selection that will cost a fraction of what a retail place that just has samples on display would charge. Slab Depot has about 10,000 or so slabs of granite and marble at their warehouse at any given time. You simply pick out the one you want and they will deliver it to the fabricator for installation. Picking out the slab of granite was one of the most fun parts of my entire renovation project, and because I had so many choices, I ended up with a unique granite surface and not a cookie cutter one like I would have if I had to go to a home improvement store or any other place that just has a few samples of stone. They even arranged for a special delivery on a holiday because they knew my project was on a tight schedule. These guys made renovating my kitchen fun, when it could have been an ordeal. I would recommend them to anyone.
