TARGET PEST CONTROL

The initial tenting went OK. We purchased the guarantee starting at $124 per yr. Following yr. jumped to $182 and over yrs. price went up to $264. We found termites in a hutch and in the wood paneling of the den, which they treated numerous times. We finally had to get rid of the hutch as they could not eliminate the termites from it with their liquid treatment. We still had them come out to treat the termites in the den. When they did come to our house, they spent less than 30 minutes here to treat the areas. When we asked for a full house inspection, they said they no longer did that and it was up to us to find the infestations. When we rec'd the bill for $264 for the annual guarantee, we sent them a letter informing them we were no longer satisfied with their service. They never responded. Enough is enough. Over the yrs. they have been unable to eliminate the termites. It seems all they were doing was chasing the termites from place to place. We have learned they no longer tent homes, as that is what is needed to treat the infestation in our home now. We bought their guarantee over the yrs., .as they assured us they would rid us of termites, which never happened.

They've done a great job! It's really helped and I'm really happy with what the treatment has done.

With Target, you don't have to tent the house. You don't have to move out. They use an injection process. There is little residue after using the gas and isn't toxic to people. There haven't been any termites.

I had my house tented with Target about 8/9 years ago, which went fine with no problems. So when I noticed wings, dust and swarming about 2/3 years ago, I contacted Target again for a quote to tent. They told me they no longer did tenting but instead had a new and "better" system that eliminated the need to move out, where they instead saturate the wood and crawl spaces with pesticide to kill the termites. I went ahead and got the treatment. However, three years, multiple revisits, several "retreatments," and spot treatments later, I still have termites, dust, swarms, and now large holes in my lovely wooden floors and in the base boards. My window sills are literally covered in wings and termite detritus. Every time I speak with the company to ask if this is normal they tell me it is, the treatment works "for most people," and this saturation treatment plus subsequent spot treatment is just as effective as anything else. I understand termites can return at any time, and I understand spot treatments are often necessary sometimes even for recently tented houses, but I really don't feel this saturation treatment works at all. It never did. I got termites swarming within months of the initial treatment, and when termites swarm it's because they are from an old, established colony--not a new infestation. I feel I was coerced into buying a treatment that was ineffective for an old wood-frame house like mine. Maybe for a newer house with less wood structure it might work, but for a wood frame house, it does not prevent substantial termite damage. I feel Target could be more realistic about how effective the saturation treatment can be in such an old house. I have had to learn the hard way, and despite my regular questioning and concern, I was always told this level of termite activity was normal, which I really don't think it is. Also, during termite season, the callout wait time is often about 2-3 weeks. I even got to the point where I was reserving an appointment in anticipation of seeing a dust pile or wings so I didn't have to wait. I have had to stay in multiple times to get spot treatments done, only for wings to reappear the next day. Plus the annual fee for the "guarantee" went up quite a bit, by about 25% last year. I must add, however, when the staff do come, they are always courteous and timely. I have no complaints with the visits/staff themselves. I just want to inform other people like me who live in old wood-frame houses that these types of treatments for termites will not work.I am having my house tented next week (by a different company) as it is the only way to rid it of termites now. I feel very sorry as I really like Target employees; they are friendly and courteous, but unfortunately their treatment for termites has been ineffective in my case.

I love them. They do exactly what they say they're going to do. They spray and take care of things. If I tell them I have little critters somewhere, they go out of their way to take care of it.

They are very professional and when I ask them to concentrate on certain areas they will do it, and if I ask them to avoid the old cat outside they do that too.

For the first four or five months the service provided by Target was very good, and then something happened. Three Wednesday evenings in a row, the technician, Luis left a voicemail on my phone stating that he would be at my home the next day, Thursday, because he knew that was when my housekeeper would be there to let him in the house. Three straight Thursdays, he did not show on any of the Thursdays and did not phone to say why. I called the office at Target and spoke with Carla and she did have someone else call me who said he would be there the next Thursday. Guy called, showed up on Thursday and according to housekeeper sprayed furniture, rugs, etc, and it took her an hour to clean after him. Call from Luis, next day no show. Call to Carla, have owner call you on Monday, no call from anyone. This has gotten to be a rotten service company and I am canceling their service.

After we identified infestation, Target spot treated our property 4 separate times in the course of a year. Spot treatment did not resolve issue and we later had significant swarming in house. After presenting Target with evidence, they insisted on continuing spot treating despite it being ineffective. Target refused to tent house, the only means of meeting its obligation to protect our home from termites. Senior management was unresponsive to calls and requests for their engagement. Target employees could not identify damage to our home, assuring there was no problem, while 3 other competitors clearly identified damage. This evidence was provided to Target's management, which said they were only committed to spot treatment. We had to hire another firm to tent our home. With Target, you are hiring a company that is committed only to spot treatment - not home protection. We were extremely disappointed with their service and attitude. We strongly recommend to NOT hire Target.

They came out when they were were suppose to. They stuck to their (initial) price pretty well. They did the job quicker than expected, but we will have to wait and see whether or not the job was effective.

I was pleased with the service I received from this company. They were able to come out the day after I called them. I felt the price was reasonable and the service man was polite. They did get rid of the few fleas I had in two treatments.

They kept coming back, and they couldn't seem to get it under control. This went on for about 6 months. They wouldn't charge us for every repeat visit, but I don't think they ever knew what was going on. They couldn't fix the problem.

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY ARE ALWAYS HERE WHEN THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO BE. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH BUGS SINCE WE STARTED USING THEM.

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS COMPANY FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND THEY ARE AMAZING. THE SERVICE MAN IS ALWAYS POLITE AND MOTIVATED. IN FIVE YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BUG IN THE HOME THANKS TO TARGET AND THEIR HARD WORKING AGENTS.

I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM SO FAR. THEY SHOW UP WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO AND THEY CALL BEFORE THEY COME. THEY DO A FINE JOB BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM WITH BUGS YET. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEM.

TARGET DOES A PRETTY GOOD JOB OF GETTING RID OF THOSE PESKY ANTS. A FEW DAYS AFTER THEY SPRAYED, I DID NOT SEE ANY SIGNS OF THE ANTS IN MY HOME. I FELT REASSURED WHEN THEY TOLD ME TO CALL IF I HAD FURTHER PROBLEMS.

THEY ARE A VERY GOOD COMPANY. THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO. THEY ALSO COME RIGHT AWAY IF I NEED THEM TO. THEY ARE ALSO VERY PROFESSIONAL WITH THEIR WORK.
