Called Sun Appliance Inc. today, Monday, 4/30/2012 at 1:07pm and left a voice message. Received a call back from Steve within 5 minutes and scheduled an appointment for the following morning, Tuesday. Steve called me back at 4:20pm and told me he would be able to stop by today and was at the house within 40 minutes. Took a look at the refrigerator and told me that the compressor starting device was the problem. He put in a new one and was done within a half an hour. Charged $136.74 for the work and to replace the compressor starting device, which I thought was very reasonable. Accepted American Express for payment, which I thought was great, since many repair/service providers do not accept credit card payment and only accept check or cash payemnt. Very professional and has been in the business for over 30 years. Would highly recommend. Was very happy with his work.

Perfect experience of an in-home machine repair. Washer was overflowing and reviewed the list of vendors in my area. First called JB but the wait for service was 6 days and the scheduler had attitude. Called Sun and described the problem and Steve scheduled me for the following day. Gave me a three hour window, called to say he was on his way, and arrived exactly as agreed. Showed me the problem, made the repair and tested twice. Paid as agreed. Super nice guy.

I called Sun Appliances in December of 2009 to come check on my washing machine. We made an appointment for the following Monday and he did not show up or call. Since we were close to Chtistmas I let it go and decided I would call him back after the 25th which I did. I reminded him that due to my constant tavels because of my work I would have to get somebody to be at the house when he came in. He gave me an appointment for Tuesday December 29th and he never showed up. When I called him, he gave me yet another appointmenb for Thursday January 7th and he did not show up or call at all either. I called him today and he simply dismissed the issue and told me to call somebody else. Lousy service ? You bet. The worst I have ever seen and not a reflection of what I have seen from Angie's list A contractors. He is supposed to be an A contractor. Something tells me this is not the first time that this man has done this. I think he is a fraud. Watch out !

Based on Angie's list ratings, I called and was promised service the same day. He arrived as promised, had the part and fixed the machine. Great service, pleasant guy.

I called Steve on a Thursday and he said he would be able to make it out on Saturday. He called on Friday and said he was in the area and came by which was great. Usually my wife is the person meeting the service providers but I was lucky enough to be there. Steve was very helpful. Very willing to talk through his diagnostic thought process. I try not to be in the way, but can't help but be around and educate myself, which Steve seemed more than willing to do. He mentioned there are three basic components to an ice maker and that it appeared two of the three had already been replaced. He was also on the phone with a relative which happens to work for one of the big applicance manufacturers. Bottom line, I had a frozen line caused by the water valve. He fixed the frozen line and replaced the water valve. It's been about a week and no problems exept for the occasional ice dropping in the freezer, which was happening before. I am confident Steve will be able to find the adaptor for me. It comes on the new part, but they don't sell it by itself.

I called Steve first thing this morning, asked if he worked on weekends. He indicated that he could be here by noon. He arrived at 11:45, was gone by 12:15. Work was done quickly and efficiently. Would definitely use hiim again.

I live in NYC and have a tenant in a miami apartment. I called Steve and he called me back promptly. We scheduled the work to be done 2 days from the day that I called him. He went to the unit and diagnosed the problem, then returned a couple days later to ensure that he properly fixed the refrigerator.

Very positive experience. I'll give a word of mouth recommendation whole-heartedly. Friendly, fast, efficient and reasonably priced.

Steve found an enormous amount of ice and had to take everything apart and used a hot air dryer on the gasket to get the air out of the line. The gasket was warped but he actually fixed it on site. Steve was very creative and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need.

Great experience, Steve arrived next business day right on time and had machine diagnosed and running in minutes.

I called, got an appointment and they came when expected and did the job quickly. I will call them again if/when something else breaks.

It only him an hour to do the work. He showed up when he said he would. He had called me on the phone earlier and was able to tell me right away what was wrong by me just telling him the problem. He was clean and kind.

Steve was late & neglected to replace a part of the original refridge, and refused to return until next day & was late again. He was able to diagnose & repair on first visit I had described the problem on the phone, price was better then previous repair person who only took temporary care of the symptoms not actually taking care of the repair; did come day after initial call.

I called them from the list, they came on time and had the part in stock for my oven. The repairman was as pleasant and professional as one could be. They were also $200 less than GE wanted to charge for the same repair.

If you'd like your appointment to be honored...try somebody else.

As I said he arrived on time. He moved a heavy refrigerator. He also patched up a hole in the wall without complaint.He had to climb over a counter to get to the rear of the appliance. He went to his truck to get the part he needed to get the job done. He quoted me a reasonable price. I paid him. He left.

TOOK A FEW MINUTES. WAS VERY EFFICIENT. USED FACTORY PARTS.

He gave me a window of when he would be at my home, and was there as promised. He looked at refrigerator and knew exactly what the problem was (zapped by lightning) and what it would cost to repair including parts and labor. He did the work in a matter of minutes (and had all parts on hand) and stuck to his estimate. Fantastic!!! I will use this company for any and all major appliance repairs in the future. And I found him on Angie's list.

I called this morning for a repair. They were prompt to answer the phone. We scheduled the appointment for today. Steve came over and fixed the problem. It was a pleasurable experience.

Fixed the belt and dryer is working as new! Excellent service and call back time. This was the second time I have called Sun Appliance. This happened a couple of months ago, I am sorry for forgetting to submit a report then, but I am now submitting one.

Job 1: Steve came out immediately, diagnosed the problem, took the washer and returned it good as new one week later. He waived the service charge and did some other minor repairs as part of the transmission repair for no extra charge. The cost was fair as far as I know (certainly less than the cost for a new washer/dryer) and it's working beautifully. I was very happy and will call them again. Job 2: Steve figured it was one of two things that could be wrong and he had the problem solved in no time. He also cleaned up the ice in the back of the freezer and came back two days later to install the ice maker he forgot to bring along on the first trip. Everything is working great and I couldn't be happier with his service.

The overall experience was about as painless as I have had in dealings with repairmen in Miami. There were small problems of rain and having to reschedule. Apart from that, the new washer is working like a new one, and we were very happy with the service we received.
