Shining Image

I used these guys based on a review here on Angieslist.com. We just bought a house and the carpets were mostly ok but one bedroom in the basement was terrible and we expected to have to replace the carpet. We had them come and clean the carpet throughout the house and I told the person on the phone of the basement bedroom and to definately use the stain conditioner option in that area. I also told her that I would leave it to the experience of the cleaner on whether or not use this additional cost item on other rooms in the house as I was not going to be able to be there for the appointment. I said that I just wanted the carpets cleaned as many times we have had carpets "cleaned" with poor results and have never been impressed with the jobs multiple companies have done for us both in Utah and Phoenix. Good news, is that the really bad bedroom in the basement had a huge transformation and was really well cleaned, we didn't have to replace the carpet it was done so well. Other parts of the house not so much. It kinda irks me that they could do such a good job in one area but less than steller job in other areas. Obviously the conditioner was not used in other rooms and while they got semi cleaned there is still evidence of light spots and such. I gave them the green light to use the conditioner wherever it was needed as I was tired of paying for carpet cleaning that never really worked well and I feel they dropped the ball. Maybe because of laziness or lack of time on the part of the cleaner, who knows. Also, in the upstairs family room there must have been some sort of kool aid like powder in the carpet or something because when I got to the house to check the cleaning there was tennis ball sized red spot that was not there before. The couch will go over it and I didn't make an issue with the company when I should have, but we never heard from them about it either. Overall I think that if you were to be there for the cleaning and supervise the cleaner and make sure what you want is done I think they could get out almost any stain, because they really did work miracles with the one bedroom. But don't leave it up to them to do a good job everywhere or they will just be like every other carpet cleaning company out there, a disappointment.

I honestly thought the carpets were uncleanable and would need to immediately be replaced. The carpets are 10 years old and there were quite a few bad stains, including pet stains from training two puppies. We had the carpets cleaned a year ago by a nationwide, well known company and they looked nice at first but the stains came back quickly. The technician for Shining Image came in, pre-treated all the stains and then spent several hours cleaning the carpets. The carpets look and feel like new and the stains have not reappeared. We were so happy with the results that we called them back and had them clean our floor tile. He did an excellent job on the tile too and they charged us half of what it cost the last time we had it steam cleaned. I would recommend them to anyone without reservation.
