Description of Work: Red Fine Hardwoods were professional, their price reasonable, and showed up in a timely manner, but felt that it might be better for me to find a company with more experience finishing Maple flooring, due to my concerns about final sanding.

Description of Work: This is a small mom-and-pop business and it shows in the quality and customer service. The owner came to our house himself to look at the damage to our wood floors. It was obvious he had extensive knowledge of wood flooring and a real enthusiasm and passion for the work. He was honest about what he could and could not fix, even when it was against his own interest in making a sale. I would not hesitate to recommend this company

I'm leaving, but the were going to refinish the hardwood floors, replace the hardwood in the living room, remove the tile in the family room and kitchen and laundry. Also they were going to remove some built ins I didn't like. They were very good and I'd use them again!

I needed their help to install woodfloors on two flights of stairs and in a bedroom. They were very thorough taking dimensions and explaining what my options were for each component. Description of Work: We had a what I considered to be a very complex hardwood floor restoration that probably covered every aspect possible in hardwood flooring and these guys pulled it off flawlessly. We have an open floor plan in our foyer, dining room, hallway and sunken living room all with the same wood floor. The floors were in need of refinishing but water damage in the sunken living room was the catalyst for the entire job. Our plan was to raise the living room floor to the same height as the rest of the room, interweave new Mahogany floor with existing, sand and refinish everywhere. The first issue in our plan that Ray and Armando pointed out was that we didn't have Mahogany floors as we had been told for years. If we wanted an exact match they would first have to determine the exact wood type. This proved more difficult than anticipated but they were not dissuaded and took a sample of the wood around and after many attempts were finally able to determine that it was a exotic South American species. They recommended that because of the difficulties and expense of obtaining this type of wood it would be more cost effective and an exact match to remaining floor if they salvaged the wood in the sunken living room and replaced only the damaged wood. The salvage process required taking up the floor with as little damage as possible and then several pain staking, tool destroying, days removing the wood glue. Because of their skill and patience they salvaged about 90% of the wood. We originally planned on interspersing Mahogany to replace the damaged boards but they were able to secure a small bundle of the exact wood. Only it wasn't the same width or tongue and groove. No problem they milled on the job site to right exact spec's needed. Finally, we are now ready to install, not quite, the concrete contractor poured the concrete a fraction to high. Once again Ray and Armando had a solution they re worked the sub floor and explained that with a some extra sanding the floor will be perfect. They began the installation process by tediously removing individual boards of the existing floor and interweaving the salvaged floor for a seamless appearance. All the while keeping a exact straight line. After all the wood was finally down, I would have expected them to sand, finish and run. Over several days they meticulously sanded, re sanded, and then sanded some more. They applied the appropriate sealers, sanded more and applied polyurethane coats and re installed all the base boards. The house remained virtually dust free through out the process. You could never tell that there was a sunken living room or where they weaved in the boards. The floor looks amazing. We started talking to Red Fine in September about our project, as we began other work to the house. They were constantly in contact over the next few months understanding where we were in our process and letting us know their schedule. As our start date got closer they consistently updated us on when they could start our project. These two gentleman and only these two worked 10 straight days in our home to complete this project. It's not often you find this type of dedication and craftsmanship in the same place. These guys are true professionals.

Description of Work: The wonderful, skilled employees at Red Fine Hardwood Floors just finished my floors and left them absolutely incredible! I never anticipated the quality of the final product, which completely transformed my older home in Miami. The floors were old oak wood that had been abandoned for decades, and really looked like they might have to be replaced entirely, but Ramon and Armando from Red Fine Hardwood Floors guaranteed me that I would be very satisfied with the result, and man were they right! They sanded down the floor using multiple techniques, and applied various coats of stain and polyurethane, carefully sanding each coat. They then installed baseboards (the floor did not previously have baseboards), which added an excellent touch and accentuates the beautiful oak floor. They also consulted with me on floor care, provided cleaning and maintenance products, and told me about options for additional services (such as crown moulding). In short, they did everything possible to refurbish an old wood floor in an older house.

They are consummate professionals who took their time to get the job done to their high level of perfection, working long hours and through the weekend to accommodate our timetable to move into our new house.

Description of Work: Resurfaced hard wood floors, sanded down using their no-dust system, filled gaps, did a fine sanding. After that was completed sealed and did a surface coating to the floor.
