The work was done correctly, but expensive. Jose Alvarez and I had discussed putting my gutters back which was not included in the contract. When I called back about that job he said that he would have to charge me for the brackets. I then reminded him that I was overcharged for tiles, having still 250+ tiles (worth about $ 900) sitting in my backyard. He then became abusive and disrespectful and tried to make me believe that the money for these tiles came out of his pocket (he 'needed' those to get the same color batch - white!), and that he had a hard time fixing my roof - but isn't that what a roofer's job is about? Needless to say that he didn't put my gutters back, as I won't hire him again

I can't say enough about their level of excellence. This was a large and complicated roof as it had over 7000 square feet with complicated angles. The roof had several active leaks and Jose sent his crew to plug those leaks before the roof work began so nothing in the interior would be ruined. The workers were very diligent and cleaned after themselves. They took great precautions for safety as we were living in the house during the process. They were organized and left everything clean. They accommodated all my requests with a very nice disposition. The office was also extremely professional with their timeline & invoices as they adhered to the contract. They even put a matching metal roof on my curbside mailbox and it looks awesome! I am so very happy with all their work. I knew they would do a good job after speaking to other satisfied customers but they went beyond my expectations!
Description of Work: Installed a metal roof on a large home in Palmetto Bay.

José came out for an estimate promptly and after a bonding over living in New York for 20 years and a reasonable quote I hired him and his company for the job. All was going soothly until a substantial downpour halfway thru the re-roof...at this point the lining was down and about 30% of the shingles. I noticed leaks both in evidence of dip stains on the floors and watermarks on the ceiling. When I first called José, he was defensive, but explained the work was still ongoing and that it would be taken care of. More rain, more delay in finishing the project. Admittedly, they can't control the weather. Meanwhile, I found other spots showing evidence of leaks. After photoing and sending by text to apprise him of the issues I then followed up with a call asking if anything was needed to seal the leaks before the final shingles went down. This is where things unravel, apparently José can't tolerate someone asking him questions twice..."What do I have to do? Sing you the answer!" was his responce when I queried about the need for extra protection. During the 10 minute conversation, in which my only goal was to let him know my concern over the leaks, and make sure everything was done BEFORE shingles where put down to arrest the leaks, he repeatedly told me how he NEVER had anyone question his work, became extremely defensive, and told me how he was on vacation10,000 miles away with his grandson at a baseball game (on a Thursday at 1PM). The only reason to consider hiring this company is his daughter, Amanda, who immediately stepped in and did damage control. If not for her intervention, the job would have come to a halt, as José threatened to pull his workers off the job, since praising his work is obviously the only criticism he can take. I never spoke with José after this, but dealt directly with Amanda, who was professional, pleasant and addressed all concerns in a timely and efficient manner. At the end of the job I was given a bill with an extra $2,750 for carpentry work that was a bit of a surprise, 5 boards and 100 feet of facia was figured into the original job of $11,250 quote - so this was another 25%. I asked Amanda if there could be any adjustment, and she reduced it to $2,250 which I paid simply because the job had been done and I wanted to be done with the entire experience. There are no leaks, the workmen and job were to my final satisfaction, what a shame that the owner (or owner in action) José is such a poor commincator and so short tempered that he almost destroyed the job. His daughter, Amanda, should be running the company, hook, line and sinker, before her father drowns it with his pride.

The crews of Professional Roofing are hard working and responsible, take care not to create a mess in the rest of the property while the work is being done and clean up every day. It is clear that they have a lot of experience and work effectively without the Jose being constantly present. Pictures were constantly being taken to show special problem areas, and any variance from the original work plan was discussed and agreed upon before proceeding any further. In general, most of the rafters had sagged to some extent due to the heavy weight of the existing concrete tiles that were removed. This was rectified to a large extent without any additional charge. On one visible section of the roof facing the front, however, the underlying rafters had sagged even more and, once the waterproof and fireproof sheeting was in place prior to the final metal layer, it was evident that this would not be satisfactory from an aesthetic point of view. Jose agreed to remove the sheeting and put new rafters on that section of the roof at a cost that was not specifically discussed at the time. Once the job was completed, we sat down to review the final costs and everything we had specifically discussed was in line with what we had initially agreed upon, including the new flat roof that could not be reasonably repaired. The additional cost of replacing the rafters and for installing gutters and a new custom downspout (not agreed upon) was reasonable although a bit high in my opinion, based on the breakdown of the hours and material involved. I mentioned this to Jose, and he agreed to knock the cost down a bit to my satisfaction. His motto is that he wants to provide good quality work at a fair price and leave his customers completely satisfied. Although Jose and a member of his family even had some health problems during the project, that did not result in any major delay in completing the roof within a reasonable amount of time by mid May. I am totally satisfied with the professionalism and the quality of the work that Professional Roofing provided us with and can recommend them without reservation to anyone. John Hager
Description of Work: Based on a recommendation from neighbors who had used Professional Roofing, due to recent leaks and the approaching wet season approaching in June, in early March I requested estimates from Professional Roofing for a basic metal and flat tile roofing to replace a flat tile roof that was 20 years old, including the options to repair or replace the non-metal flat roof that extends over the patio area. I also requested estimates from two other established and reputable roofing companies as a basis of comparison. I found that the the estimate by Professional Roofing for a metal roof was very much in the ball park, in essence equal to one of the estimates and slightly lower than than other. One of the other estimates quoted a lower grade metal panel that met the county code but was inferior in thickness to the other two. I was aware that there might be additional costs involved, depending on the state of the existing underlying roof structure. Based on a competitive price and the positive comments from our neighbors, I elected to go with Professional Roofing. Jose Alvarez, the co-owner and principal supervisor, although he was busy with other jobs that were already in progress, promised to fit us in as soon as possible before the rainy season began in full. We agreed on the work to be done and I gave him the initial deposit in the first half of April. Work began soon after once the necessary permits were obtained.

Description of Work: We needed a quick response as Citizens had not informed us that they wanted repairs done and w/o warning gave us a cancellation date. We opted to have a new roof installed and Professional roof sales responded immediately and completed the work in time for us to avoid cancellation. The company's work was efficient, clean and totally professional. The staff was courteous, friendly and answered all my questions as I checked each step of the job. I can give this company a hardy recommendation.

Overall it went very well. There were no problems whatsoever. He had up to 8 men at a time working on my roof. At no time did he sub-contract any work out. Though the crew knew exactly what to do, the owner would come by every day and sometimes several times a day to check on their progress.
Description of Work: I requested bids from 11 roofers to put a new metal roof on my house. I received 5 bids. The highest was $32,000. There was one equal to the amount from Professional Roofing and Sales, Inc., but I have a small flat roof that needed extra insulation, putting Professional Roofing with the lowest bid. They did an excellent job. Very clean. Very neat. Very Professional. As of today they are 90% complete. I had to have a plummer inspect the gas exhaust that went through the roof and he said that Professional Roofing was one of the few roofers that knew what they are doing. I would recommend them for any roofing job.
