BEWARE: I’m buying a new home and it is a new construction community. I booked Penske Appraisals for a open time slot in the morning on home advisors. They text me a confirmation then 10 min later I got a text from owner stating he cannot do it at the booked time and asked to switch the time. I conceded and agreed to a later time in the afternoon. He agreed. The day before the appraisal, I reached out to confirm the appraisal time and location and best payment method. He confirmed the time, location and best payment method. Now it’s day of appraisal and I again reach out in the morning to confirm and he again says “yes” to all. Appointment time was 1pm on my only day off for the week, 1pm comes no call no show, 130 no call no show. I text and called him multiple times but got no response. All while the builder has made arrangements to be available for him and now my wife and I look like we don’t know what we are doing. We apologized to the builder and left embarrassed and dissatisfied with such poor customer service. He finally called and said he was in a hearing and was sorry for the inconvenience. If you know you have hearing, don’t book and appointment with a customer!!! Lowest rating for this business.

Mr. Luis Panagos did our appraisal and we are very satisfied with the results. His appraisal was well above what our realtor quoted and we believed the house was worth. His work was professional and very detailed. He kept in touch with us and answered all texts within a very reasonable time.

This was my first experience using an appraiser as well as using HomeAdvisor. Overall, it was an "O.K." experience. The appraisal was a bit lower than I had expected and some of the details in the final report were not as accurate as I would have expected. The appraiser was also a bit more "car salesman" in his approach than I was prepared for, and, frankly, a bit condescending when I asked for clarification on a question I had. Would I use an appraiser again in the future? Extremely doubtful. I think it's fair to say that I researched the same comps and came up with a figure roughly in the same neighborhood as the appraiser...although a bit higher. I'm not sure the $350 price tag (which I'm told is usually $450...but was a "one week only" / Home Advisor discount) was really worth it. It's a big chunk of change for some quick pics, measurements, and Internet comps. Most of the report was just pages and pages of generic text describing how appraisers in general come up with their numbers. The other pages were sale prices of comps (which are available to anyone on the Internet) and Internet maps showing the location of my property in relation to the comps...also available for free to anyone on the Internet. Would I use this particular appraiser in the future? No, but you may have a better overall experience than I did. Would I use HomeAdvisor in the future? Possibly, although I'd prefer if the app didn't ask for so much personal information before providing very generic information. It's a bit invasive.

Penser handled the appraisal process in a very professional and efficient manner. Their report had an error on my name which when brought to their attention was fixed and e-mailed to me within 5 minutes. As I reviewed my document which was very thorough and had any questions and called my appraiser he was available to promptly answer my questions .
