Provider is supposed to fulfill warranty for defected door. The customer service person tried to talk me out of the fact that the item was under warranty. Then showed up on the wrong day (probably when it was convenient). The never called back to make a follow up appointment. Finally they said they were coming over on a day that I had mentioned I would be out of town. Getting follow up for defected items that are under warranty is nearly impossible and very much work. Hmmm. Maybe their strategy is that the customer will get so worn down they would just forget it. Pella Customer Service is not on the side of the customer. Plus their "warranty" fulfillment doesn't not offer much. So much for a Lifetime Warranty. Forget about making a simple phone call and haven't someone out to quickly fox the issue when it is convenient for the customer at a reasonable cost.
Description of Work: That's the problem. I just cant get them to actually make an appointment and show up when they say they are going to to fix the defected issue. The company randomly shows up and call to make appointments when I clearly said I was not available. Thus many more calls and telephone tag for follow through.

I am happy that they were able to get everything installed in a timely manor and not drag it out for days. They were hard working and friendly. I even get a discount from my insurance company because I had these installed. I don't remember the exact cost but it was good.
Description of Work: Pella Windows installed storm shutters on my windows.

Two windows subsequently had wood portions rot out, which Pella agreed to correct. Their worker also ripped off a portion of the interior oak trim "to get a match." Pella also delivered one new window to the house, BUT Pella inexplicably reversed themselves, and denied damaging the perfectly good interior trim, and even denied delivering a new window to the house. The "non-existing" window is still in its crate, in our garage. Pella claimed their warranty did not cover "faulty installation," but the water leaks are through their window frame, NOT where the windows are chalked into the window openings. Also, the Pella salesman had claimed their windows had a lifetime warranty against wood rot - But we can't find the paperwork- nevertheless, would ANYONE buy a wood window (w/ exterior aluminum) in FL, without such a warranty? AW/8-24-06
Description of Work: Several years ago we purchased from Pella 6 new windows & 3 sets of new sliding glass doors, which were installed by a contractor recommended by Pella. Their windows are aluminum-clad on the outside, w/ interior wood.
