We went to Melissa because she helped us over 4 years ago to sell our previous home as a short sale. Melissa listed our home for almost 2 years and never gave up on finding us a buyer! We were so pleased with her dedication that we gave her our word that once we would be able to purchase again we would only go with her. She found us a BEAUTIFUL home just as we were looking for it. Also she was very professional, punctual and not "pushy" For us to make a decision. I had previously observed Melissa's Ad in the Miami -Ft Lauderdale monthy member magazine and after speaking to her I decided to use her services, a few weeks passed by after speaking to her , and my wife and I were finally ready to sell the house we then contacted Melissa and made an appointment at our Miami West Kendal house.. We did a contract , and Melissa gave use some opinions about leaving some of the wall colors in a couple of rooms and she also recommended a color for the back yard patio ceiling. I found Melissa on Angie?s List and was immediately sold due to her great ratings. The comments about how good she is at guiding sellers through what can be a very stressful event convinced me. I?d been in my current house for over 15 years, but had retired 2 years prior and wanted to move to Nevada to be closer to my daughter. I felt pretty much overwhelmed by the idea of getting the house ready for sale ? decluttering to do, unwanted furniture to get rid of, repairs to be made ? it all seemed like too much. Melissa responded to my first call immediately, and came right out to look at what I had to work with. Right away she reassured me and made me feel that not only could I get my cluttered house ready, but also that she?d be there for me every step of the way to help. My house needed a lot of repairs, but she offered practical advice on what I needed to do and what I could ignore. She found me a very reasonable repairman to make the basic repairs. Whereas I would have tried to make a lot of repairs, she advised me on what absolutely had to be done and what I could save money on by leaving ?as is.? Actually, she saved me a lot of time and money with her advice. I truly felt like Melissa was the one person holding my hand in something that I know nothing about. Once the house went on the market, she took tons of photos for MLS to show it off. Everything worked as she?d predicted. Potential buyers came out immediately to look at the house. Melissa even was considerate of my aging arthritic dog, and worked it out that I didn?t have to remove him from the premises during viewings. Just as she?d thought, within 2 weeks I had an offer! Since my sale was to an investor, the approval process dragged out and required multiple extensions of the contract, but Melissa was behind me with encouragement all the way. She was the professional that I needed in my court. She even was proactive in lining up a second buyer in case the first contract fell through. Long story short, it all worked out. I have know Melissa for a little over 2 years. I originally met her through Angie's List when I hired her to rent my townhouse. At that time she found me excellent tenants. I called her serveral times over the past 2 years for help when there were small problems that needed to be repaired at the townhouse. She was able to recommend someone on all occassions. So, when my tenants moved out in August of this year I knew she would be the person to list the townhouse for sale. It was listed on Wednesday September 4th and by Tuesday September 10th we had a final contract. After many offers Melissa was able to get me my asking price in cash. She is amazing. Every step of the way she consulted me and advised me as to what was the best offer. There were a few bumps along the way, as all closings go through, but Melissa was there for me. We closed on Friday October 11th. Just one day over a month from the day the contract was signed. I would definitely use Melissa again and reccomend her highly. After looking for a home for about a year and a half, having been unsatisfied with our two prior realtors, and without success working on our own, we reached out to Melissa because she was the most highly rated local realtor on Angie's list, and we had worked with her briefly when we were considering a home for which she was the seller's agent. We met with her and explained what we were looking for in a home. She worked with us to set up a search criteria and we received regular computerized notice of any new homes or changes to listings. We looked at a number of houses with her and initially found none we liked. We kept track of new homes on the market, adjusted our search somewhat, and arranged to see any homes that interested us. Initially, it took a while because we didn't find what we wanted. Melissa kept in regular contact with us. She was always professional, responsive, and patient through periods when we saw nothing we liked. When we started looking at homes that had characteristics we had said we did not want, she gently reminded us of what we had previously said. Unlike our prior realtor, she didn't seem to forget what we told her, and she was not pushing us to move more quickly than we wanted. Ultimately, she arranged a viewing of a house we liked alot, and with her help we were the first to visit the home and the first to put down an offer. As we went through the inspection period she helped us find Angie's list well-rated mortgage broker, home inspector, and septic service provider. She arranged required appointments and met with them when we were unable. With Melissa's help, a difficult process moved smoothly. We are very happy with our home. I needed to move to be closer to work as the hour long drive (each way) was starting to take it's toll on me. I interviewed, or at least attempted to interview, a few different realtors. I can't tell you the level of unprofessionalism I experienced with the other Realtors. From not returning calls to showing me houses in the areas I was interested in, I almost gave up. Fortunately, I then found Melissa. She worked with me to find a great house in a neighborhood that wasn't even on my radar . She's courteous and professional and always showed up on time (something that was very important to me as my time is extremely limited) Additionally, she helped me find a comptent inspector, hjandyman and mortgage broker. She helped to coordinate all the parties and made the entire process much easier than I imagined it would be. Basically, all I had to do was show up.
