Armando arrived on time and my husband and I showed him everything needing repair. He went to his truck (parked on the street in front of the condo) and came back with materials to repair the disposal switch only. He returned to his truck for materials needed for each additional repair, including the bill, which added nearly a half hour to his time. Armando was here for approximately 2 hours and charged $179.00 ($156.00 for labor and $23.00 for materials.) The next day I noticed a leak under the kitchen sink where he had made a repair and called the main office. I left a message on the answering machine and my call was returned within an hour. He said that Armando didn't cause the leak - it was already there but he didn't bother to mention it. "I already yelled at him about it," he said. Within the next few days I noticed the new plug to the floor lamp buzzes when I insert it into the outlet and the light flickers on and off. The light to the desk lamp continues to go on and off erratically, as it did before he repaired it.

Michael Longman is the owner and awesome. He does the visits and appraisals himself. He is a real expert. He helped bury the cable from the pole to the house so I could install a pool in my backyard, etc. He did some other work on the house as well installing lighting, etc. Mike is great and would recommend him for any size job. thanks, Kevin

We bought an old house with cloth wiring so we called Longman to re-wire the entire house. The project went well so we called them back to install recessed lighting, fixtures and security lighting outside. The installers are really good and very professional. All calls and emails were answered quickly and they always arrived on time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Very well. Everything is now working as it should. The electrician, Carlos, was extremely professional and knew what he was doing.

It required going through cement. The workman was very polite and told me ahead of time about all possible issues that could arise. I thought they were very considerate and professional.

I am very happy with the service I received from Longman Electric. The technican was on time, friendly, very respectful and very helpful. He explained in detail everything that he was going to do. He installed an outside socket and replaced the conduit for the pool light switch. The wires were showing and it made me nervous as water always collects in that area when the kids are in the pool. He did an excellent, very professional job on both items. I have no hesitation in recommending them, and I will definetly use them again in the future for our electrical needs.

Well, I can't say enough good things about Longman Electric! Just today, I have contacted Michael Longman again about another project. We just bought our house in Biscayne Park in July knowing that one of the things that needed to be replaced was the electrical panel. We initially expected that this might cost around $2,000 as that was what our inspector had estimated. We did get a little bit of sticker shock when the estimates started coming in. We got 4 estimates in total, ranging from $2800-$6500 ($6500 came from Wiremasters after allegedly applying a "discount" for our profession. Don't ever use them, they are a complete rip off!). The lowest estimate came through a friend of a friend whom I discovered was no longer even licensed by the State of Florida! Ugh. The 2 in the middle were Longman Electric and another friend who is an electrician who we knew would not rip us off. Neither of them knew each other and yet their estimates came in within $50 of each other leading us to believe that this is what was reasonable for the job. We chose Michael Longman as my husband really appreciated his professionalism and candor and we wanted to avoid any problems of using a friend if we were unsatisfied with the work for any reason. At this point, we learned that the job was more extensive than we initially thought because we weren't just replacing the electrical panel itself but were also moving where the FPL lines enter/attach to the house. The previous owner had them hanging much lower than code allows directly over the back deck which was not only a code violation and a serious safety hazard, but a serious eye sore. Mr. Longman's crew moved the FPL lines so that they came in through the corner of the roof and did all the work of extending the lines/piping under the roof line to the panel that is located in the utility room. They also replaced the meter can, ground line, etc. and of course upgraded the panel to a 200 amp panel. It was quite an extensive job with a lot of materials and despite my initial sticker shock, I must now say that Longman's price was more than reasonable. His crew was timely at 7:30 a.m. and they worked diligently through until 8:30 pm that night when they completed the job. They really never stopped working, all primarily for my convenience so that we would only be without power for one day. The crew was polite and very neat, doing an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. Mr. Longman, himself, took care of applying for the electrical permits and was also present for the final inspection for the permit to be approved and closed out. In fact, he was inconvenienced for two hours that day waiting for the inspector who was late but he never complained. He was certainly losing money, I'm sure, as well as probably having to reschedule other appointments. I am merely appreciating that he must have had to do that but he certainly did not complain about it. After seeing all the equipment purchased, materials that were needed and the labor involved, $3800 was not at all unreasonable. Anyway, in a nutshell, if you need electrical work of any kind done in the Miami, Miami Shores, Biscayne Park, North Miami or any other area Longman Electric services, call Michael Longman. For me, I won't even bother with other estimates for electrical work anymore, I'll just call Longman Electric because I'm confident he will not rip me off and most importantly, the quality of his work will be far superior to any other service provider.

I am very happy with Longman Electric Inc. I contacted Michael on Monday after discovering I had a fire to my exterior electrical panel on Sunday night. Michael met with me on Tuesday, and sent me a quote for the work on Wednesday. His quote was reasonable for the work required. When I met with Michael he explained everything that needed to be done, he communicated clearly and was very knowledgeable in his field. I asked Michael if he could also find a contractor that could do the stucco repair outside, and he said that was not a problem, and sent me an updated quote with the work. I also asked to add fire alarms in the house that I would need for my house remodel to pass inspection, which he added to the quote as well. I also liked the payment breakdown, since 70% of the payment was to be paid after completion of the work, it made us feel comfortable that the job would be done quickly and well. The permits for the work were obtained very quickly, and as soon as we had the permit the work began, and was completed within 3 days. It took some time to get the city to turn the power back on for the house, but Michael did his best to help me communicate with the city to get this done quickly. As soon as I confirmed that Michael could do the final inspection, he met with inspector and the permit was closed. When I hired Longman Electric, I was about a month into a house remodel project. My contractor quit on me after I didn't hire them to do the fire damage repair. I asked Michael to give me a quote for all electrical work that needed to be done for my house remodel project, and he provided me with a quote quickly. Unfortunately, my new contractor I hired preferred to use another cheaper electrician. Looking back, I wish we hired Longman Electric for the job. The new electrician that was working on my house never showed up as required, and the work was sloppy and often wrong (partial blame goes to the contractor that was directing the work). If we ever need electrical work done on our house in the future, Longman Electric would definitely be our first call. It's so nice to see people that actually care about you in Miami.

On the initial phone call, I talked to the owner directly, and based on his advice, I ordered a few lights from him and scheduled for work to be done all day on the next day. To prep, I separately ordered and picked up all of the other lights and lamps to be installed. The next day, Antonio was assigned as the electrician, showed up a little early, and worked all day on a laundry list of items. He was great, fast and knowledgeable. He also made sure that all lamps were balanced and worked per manufacturer's specs (including running 1 additional line). At night, had an issue with one exterior light, so owner had it checked out on a separate day, and recommended that a plant should be trimmed. Trimmed it, and the light worked. Overall, great service, and price was as expected. Will recommend to others.

I'm manager of a 20+ unit rental portfolio. After being disappointed by my longtime electrician, I selected Mr. Longman based partly on his reviews from Angie's List, he has done several recent jobs (including service upgrade and meter center for a townhouse development) all of which I'm completely satisfied with in terms of price and quality of work. I trust him and he is currently my go-to electrician for all my electrical needs.

first he was running late but the office called to inform me of this. delays from a previoius job may be unavoidable but it is good the office calls to let you know this is happening. When he arrived, he explained to me what he had to do (ie cut holes in the wall to run additional wires from the plug out let for a new plug outlet. since i am planning to removing the wallpaper and and repaint anyway this was not a problem for me. cleaned up after the job. he worked quickly.

This was lousy. The guy called, we made an appointment, they were an hour late to the appointment. After they finished the quote they said they couldn't finish the work that day because it was close to 5pm, end of the day. It's seems like their time is much more important than mine, and my needs. When I asked when they could complete the work, he said it will be 3 days later. That's ridiculous, wait 3 days without working lights in the kitchen... Very unhappy with their lack of urgency and professionalism.

I was very happy with the job and their performance. An electrician from Longman came to evaluate wiring issues in my newly purchased mid-century house. There were several switches whose purpose I couldn't figure out, as well as some scary looking open boxes and mysterious wires going through walls. There had evidently been several not to code adaptations to the electric system made over the years. House is built from cinderblock or poured concrete, not many sheet rock partitions. Great for hurricanes, but for electrical wiring? Not so much. Seeing the challenges involved (no air space in the ceilings, no crawl space), the owner was called. Michael Longman arrived within a very short time to see for himself. He quickly analyzed the situation and explained to me how they would go about fixing everything. His comments put me at ease and the project was not as bad as I had anticipated. The work was completed over a 2 day period. The first day, Anthony arrived on time at 9 am. He was the person who came to evaluate a few days prior. He and I reviewed the project and the solutions and he worked diligently all day. There was one concern with 2 pot lights in a bedroom that had been installed using speaker wire. He returned the next day with another person to help him at no additional cost to me. Ultimately we decided to live without the pot lights rather than channel through the ceiling and make exploratory holes to find the original junction box. Just as they were finishing, I made a change requiring them to stay longer and re-do one part of their work. Purely my choice for a reason I had not considered in advance. They were totally accommodating in making the change. They left me with a very detailed and easy to follow list of what they had done and the materials they used. I will definitely call them again to fix anything more that may come up with the house's wiring.

Appointment was set for 7:30am and the electrician arrived on time. He was extremely curteous and polite. I had a short somewhere in the house and he explained that he needed to find it and would then determine how to fix it. As he did his work he explained what he was doing and was able to identify the short rather quickly. He changed a wire that was causing the short and cleaned up right after the finished. He made some suggestions for improvements which was appreciated. Would work with this company again and their service is excellent and reasonably priced.

Once I called and requested a quote for work to be done, Mike Longman made an appt to evaluate my needs within 2 days. After coming to my property, he emailed me a quote after 2 days. Once I decided to hire his company, I was scheduled for work 2 business days later. Two Techs showed up on the scheduled dates. They arrived on time and we're very professional. The tech Carlos explained the process upon arrival and necessary house access they would need. They were onsite for about 4 hours and completed all contracted services. Carlos explained all completed services and demonstrated completed services. They did a great job cleaning up and making the area organized and neat. Over all, they did an excellent job and completed all as promised. Would use them again.

When I contacted this company, I explained since this was an old landscape lighting system, some cables may be working and some may not. I also informed them I had purchased the lights and a transformer in case the old transformer needed to be replaced. The electrician shows up an hour late and without the necessary cable materials to perform the job, therefore that day of work was lost. A supervisor shows up an hour later and at that time we discussed what was necessary to complete the work, which was more work than what the experts had anticipated. At first, they wanted to charge for two electricians for two entire days to complete the work. According to a previous estimate I had received from another company, I thought it was not reasonable and they then decreased the number of hours. Longman electric insisted in charging me for the 1.5 hour the electrician was in my house despite the fact he couldn't complete the work for the lack of materials. I paid for the 1.5 hours and will not use Longman electric again.
