When he came I told him that it was probably the thermal cable which was giving me problems in November of 2014. Instead of inspecting the unit completely he took a quick look inside and said that he would need to replace a pilazo switch to get it working, which is something they normally don't carry on the truck because it usually doesn't need to be replaced. I called Lion's to inquire about the part and Vivian their receptionist said that it would need to be ordered. I called on Tuesday and called their receptionist Vivian 3-4 times to inquire if they had the part, when she finally confirmed they had the part she said they couldn't come out and complete the service because all of her people are out on appointments but can have people out on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday I spoke with Vivian who said they found the part and that they could get out here today, she quoted a price of $297 for the replacement. Two different guys arrived and opened up the water heater and did a thorough check to find that the thermal cable actually needs to be replaced which is what I originally suspected and voiced on Lion's first visit. In November of 2014 I paid ~$157 for that part to be replaced. I called back Lion's and spoke to Vivian again to inquire what the new price would be given that the service was actually a smaller job, and that I asked for it to be checked on earlier only to be delayed 2 more days. She said that she has to stick to the $297 price quoted for the pilazo switch replacement. I feel abused and taken advantage of. I'm sure that if I were a man things would have been done different. A woman alone, desperate, hasn't had hot water since Sunday? She'll pay.
