Home Renovations

It was a great experience. Very professional, punctual and responsive. A relief for my wife and I, because living in South Florida, it is very rare to find a reliable contractor. All my questions were answered before during and after the job. Also, the job was completed in a timely manner and the results are better than I anticipated. Within one week of receiving the estimate, our lights were installed and in full working order. My wife and I are very happy with the results and would definitely hire Kerry Achong and Home Renovations for any future projects in our home. We would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends.

Where do I start? First off.....if you want someone who is extremely NEAT, punctual, and courteous, you wont find anyone like this man. Kerry is from NY and has been in nearly all facets of the renovation business for over a decade. I was fortunate enough to meet Kerry because I was looking for some furniture for my home and a friend recommended I contact Kerry. When I saw his hand crafted furniture, I was like holy crap! What else can this guy do?? Then he tells me does all sorts of house renovations. Well, I had just purchased a Frame house in the South grove and I had been renovating it for over 8 months. I rarely let anyone do work in my home because most contractors and subs are a mess and, at best, cannot do quality work. Not to my standards being I have two family members back in NY who are builders. The best contractors in Miami charge Lebron James fees (and give you a Miami Dolphins effort, you know what I mean). We all know the wealth that exists in Miami like many cities. I want high quality work at a fair price. I don't need an organization with 7 layers of executive staff that hires the same subs everyone else does. These subs don't give a crap about you. They just want to finish and get out of your house and hope the GC doesn't stiff them. Getting ripped off in Miami? That's not common, eh?? Getting to the point: After two days at my house, I nicknamed Kerry "Picasso". Everything he does has to be perfect. And let me tell you, I am as demanding as they come and he out did me, so I can't imagine anyone on this planet not being thrilled with his craftsmanship. That's if you can appreciate precision work. And you know what I mean......after your last renovation, can you remember asking your contractor why certain things aren't as you would like? Only to have him tell you "well, the wall was crooked, the floor wasn't level, there was a beam in the way..." All that nonsense because people love the easy way out. They make excuses, blaming it on something else, because you have no idea whether what the contractor is saying is really fact or not. Kerry came into my house and sistered all the wall beams in the bathroom to make them level. He ripped up the floor, sistered and cross supported the floor joists to level. I had already had my kitchen renovated a few months back and no one even considered straightening walls then. Kerry said the walls have to be straight in the bathroom or the tiles wont line up properly. I think we have all experienced a crappy bathroom tile job in our days or at least have seen our neighbors' results! LOL!!!!. Anyhow, I'm so thrilled with Kerry. If you want a fast renovation at a cheap price call someone else. I was a bit hesitant to write a review while I still need so much more work done in my house! Because once others find this hidden gem, I know I'll be on a waiting list to get him back. It just doesn't get any better.........Picasso. Still have another bathroom renovation and fire place reface. Ill report back on those.
