From the moment I called Harper's Air I Got excellent service. From The owner knowledge and recommendations, To Fernando arriving at my house on time for the estimate, to the installers Jose & Marcos we were told they would be at the house at 8 am and they got there exactly at 8 and they were out by 3pm as promised. From Duran calling to schedule the replacement of the Thermostat and Emilio coming to the house and installing it and help us connect it to the internet. Excellent Customer Service all around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike showed up exactly on time and went right to work, he checked out the unit and was able to find the problem, needed three parts, which he had on his truck, parts were installed and Mike explained everything he was doing, showed me the damaged parts and even secured a wire that was hanging close tot he fan.

I wouldn't use them again.  Their trade practices are questionable.
Pros:  They were prompt, courteous and their work was professionally done.
Cons:  Their pricing and quote practices are what I found objectionable.  On this most recent job, I was quoted $89.95 for their diagnostic service call.  Most companies, but not all, will apply this service fee against the cost of the repair, but not Harper's.  I can't fault them for this.  The quoted repair was to be $500 but the technician, since it was raining, didn't want to have to go to his truck to write up the estimate.  I allowed him to take the blower and we agreed to the $500 price with a handshake.  Never do this, my mistake.  When they called on Monday they told me the price was now $550, plus the $89.95 diagnostic fee.  I reminded them that my quote was $500 so, after some discussion, they grudgingly agreed to $500.  The final bill was $500 plus $89.95 plus a hidden $10 fee for "handling".  This latter fee is merely printed on all their invoices as a way to tack on another $10.  The $500 repair already included their getting a new motor from Carrier so why the additional "handling?"
Background:  The technician determined from the smart thermostat controller that the blower needed replacement.  He quoted me $500 for labor as the blower was under warranty.  I thought the price to be a bit high but, since it was a Friday afternoon and the repair wouldn't be completed until Monday, I agreed to the $500 repair.  The job requires the removal of 4 screws to access the blower and the removal of two screws to release the blower assembly.  Nationally, the average cost of such a repair is between $150 and $350.  Installation requires the reverse of this procedure plus the mechanical swapping of the motor in the fan assembly.  This last step is less than 30 minutes.
If this were the only time such a thing had happened and if this was my only contact with Harper's, the fee juggling wouldn't warrant my overall C rating.  In looking at my original invoice from Harper's installation of my unit back in 2012, I remembered that they had done something similar back then.  In 2012, I had gotten a written quote for a new Carrier unit along with some new duct work.  When the invoice was presented they then informed me that they had forgotten to mention that their initial quote was based on my assignment of my power company's rebate (for the new energy efficient unit) to them.
In general, most estimates must have some leeway.  There can be unforeseen circumstances where adjustments need to be made.  When a plumber opens up a wall and finds something he didn't expect, an adjustment may be warranted.  In neither of these instances was Harper's surprised by some unexpected change in circumstance.
So, on two occasions, Harper's Air "adjusted" the final bill in their favor.  A word to the wise, caveat emptor and, if you use Harper's, get it in writing and hope for the best.

He did an excellent job. Also great customer service. The installation was very clean; there was nothing left behind for me to clean up.

All went well from beginning to end. We got three bids before using Harper's Air. They are the only ones who had the unit we wanted and the fact that the owner came out himself made our decision easy. It has been less than a month since our installation but we are hopeful that everything will continue to go well.

Terry Harper installed our 4 ton unit about 5 years ago and has been
servicing it annually ever since. Our drainage line was clogged so we
called for routing maintenance. Due to a misunderstanding the tech did
not show up when initially promised. However, the next day the service
tech showed up promptly and apologized for the mix-up. First time this
has happened. Anyway, tech checked out system and cleaned out a lot of
moldy goo out of the drainage pan. He checked the entire system, inside
and out, and made sure all connections were clean and tight. He pressure
tested the system and found all was well. When I asked him if the coils
needed to be acid washed, he showed me the coils and assured me they
were clean and did not need the extra service. I suppose he could have
taken the opportunity to sell me a service I did not need, but he was
very honest and gave us the best possible service at a reasonable price.

No problems. The tech arrived when he said he would. Had to order replacement parts. Came back 10 days later to install the new parts. Did a good professional job.

My air conditioning system just stopped working one evening. The next day I called Triana Air after finding them on Angie's List. He was able to show up the same day, and though I feared I was going to have to replace my 30+ year old unit, he told me that unit had stopped working because of a build-up of slime in one of the pipes. He cleaned it and did some maintanence on the unit to get it up and running. He was very polite and professional.

We have been informed that servicing a unit and maintaining the unit are two different things. This appears to be a game of semantics in which the contractor passes the buck. We have had Harper's service personnel out every 6 months like clockwork to check the units. Each time we have had their service personnel out we have suggested that we want to do the best to maintain the integrity of the system and are willing to pay for optimal care. We feel let down. At this point, I cannot recommend the company (which I had in a previous review because of their integrity in telling us that the initial installation was done erroneously). If they believe that the overhead units will continue to malfunction they should be honest enough to say so and recommend bringing the units down to ground level. Water in the walls and overhead translates into a serious mold threat for those residing in the home. They have contributed to the problems, rather than truly solving them.

The service was good and he showed up when he said he was going to. The job was difficult because of the space he had to work with. The unit was installed in a closet area. He said up front though that he could do the job and he did.

Very professional, courteous, extremely helpful in volunteering information about available rebates and 6 months same-as-cash financing. Pricing was extremely competitive with other estimates we had received while delivering superior value and service. The owner actively runs the business, which is well organized, with all personnel required to meet high standards of courtesy, pleasantness and efficiency. A pleasure to do business with!
