Description of Work: Accordian shutters and inpact glass sliding patio door.Long delay getting the door but all good in the end.

Description of Work: Installed better-quality Bertha accordion shutters over 3 sets of French doors. Work went swiftly in one morning, showed up as scheduled, cleaned work site when done, did not try to upsell, very professional family-run operation.

Description of Work: I had custom hurricane windows installed. The manufacturer was a little late in delivering my windows and there was some minor confusion on the manufacturer's part concerning the design of the windows which was intended to create the look of the original windows on my 1924 home. Guinn and Sons resolved this error at their own expense. | The crew sent to do the installation was Spanish speaking and I don't speak Spanish. As it turned out in the end, some of them did speak English but were a little shy. If I had any concerns I could not express to the installers, their supervisor was readily available. | I have to say that the installers went out of their way to do a great job. They cleaned up at the end of each work day and actually painted the areas around the installation sites both inside and out. I had received other estimates and I was told I would have to paint so this was a pleasant surprise to me. | We had some delays with scheduling which was difficult for me due to my work schedule. Since I had the same work crew every day I was able to leave when I had to. | During the inspection after the installation was complete, the inspector told me my windows were "overkill" meaning they exceeded the current standards. He was impressed with the quality and installation. | Overall I give Guinn and Sons an A since I am really happy with the final results. The minor delays and other things I mentioned were worth the end results. I have contracted with Guinn and Sons to do additional work for me. FYI, the manufacturer is still taking longer than expected to deliver the product due to heavy demand so you should anticipate that if you do select Guinn and Sons. |

Description of Work: They worked with us to make sure the shutters were perfectly fitted to our semi-circular window. In the front of our house. Other providers we talked to would not even give us a quote.

Description of Work: Replaced front door with hurricane resistant door. First time the got the wrong size door, it took a couple of weeks but when the got it, they did a good job installing it, the wind mitigation inspector was very good and thorough.

Description of Work: Matt provided us with a rough estimate at first. He is to provide us with an additional detailed itemized sheet. We are evaluating our estimates from several companies before we make a decision on the company that we will use.

Description of Work: We had 10 windows/doors outfitted with accordion shutters and one impact door installed. Matt was a pleasure to work with. He came out to house in January and did an very extensive quote with multiple options impact doors/windows vs. panels and various combinations of. In March, we completely changed our mind and went with accordions and one impact door. We weren't able to invest in the full impact window program. I appreciated that Matt was easy to get in touch with and talk with on the phone, when needed. He also respected my preference to be texted, when it was just a quick update. It took about 3 weeks from contract signed to final inspection from the village of Miami Shores! The process might have been even faster, but we were out of town for a few days. The installers were great and very through. We live in an older home, so there are always construction complications. The gentlemen tackled these issues without complaint and delay. For example, we had a electric box about an inch from a window, making the install more complicated. The installers also removed some old shutter hardware and filled the holes without even being asked. Overall, I highly recommend Guinn & Sons. The quality of service, ease of communication and finished product were all above my expectations.
