I had originally called Gold Coast High Rise Services to address the issue of my hurricane door spring. They identified the problem and recommended that while I could fix the spring (which I had already done once in the four years since moving in) or I could change the spring mechanism to one that would be less likely to have on-going problems. They clearly outlined the cost differential and I decided to change the mechanism. During these discussions I asked if they knew of anyone that might be able to handle the tile work I needed done. Because the tiles in question were on the edge of the balcony and were only accessible from the outside of the glass-paneled balcony railing, another contractor I had asked was unwilling to try the work because of the difficult working conditions. Annette and her team immediately recognized that the problem of working with these tiles, without risking losing control of them and having them fall, was to remove the glass panels. Annette calculated the labor costs (it would require two people), and we agreed that they would return to install the new spring and do the tile work. I asked that they also then water seal the balcony tiles, because the original problem had clearly been caused by water working its way under the tiles and then expanding in the heat of the sun to pop them up. Annette's team did the work efficiently and very carefully -- no dropped tiles etc. They were meticulous in avoiding tracking grouting etc into the house. I was very pleased with the work they did. And I have asked them to return to work on my heavy hurricane sliding glass doors which have become a nightmare to open and close.
Description of Work: I have a heavy hurricane-glass door that swings out to my balcony on which the spring mechanism had stopped working. In addition I had a couple of loose tiles on the edge of my 26th floor condo that I was worried were vulnerable to high winds and might result in someone being injured. Although Gold Coast High Rise Services deals primarily with windows and doors, Annette and her team dealt with both issues extremely well. And it was, in fact, their expertise with windows that allowed them to solve the problem of fixing my tiles.
