Alex and his team did a fantastic job painting my house!!! It was a difficult job because there were numerous repairs to stucco and wood that were necessary and completed before painting . Alex wanted to fix everything and I am so glad. They take pride in their work and are dependable, reliable, and perfectionists. A real artist and craftsman. They are not finished with the work until you are happy. My house was completely transformed and I am a very happy customer. A+

Had a great experience with Alex the contractor which is not easy to say here in Miami.I'ved had many unpleasant experiences with previous contractors,not showing up to work,doing bad quality work,etc.It just felt so good to work with Alex and getting everything done right. He's easy going and explains everything that's going to be done.I will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

We are warning homeowners with our cautionary tale about how truly awful Alex and his company, Flamingo Painting, handled the painting of our home. His painting estimate for the interior of our home was good, but this really is a case of getting what you paid for. This was an interior paint job and the major problem was that every day he left our home a filthy mess, his painters did not do particularly good prep work and the painting itself was sub-standard. The first week he claimed his regular crew was not available and he sent a single painter to prep and paint the laundry room, family room, kitchen and two bedrooms (one room each day). When he finished work the first day, he left a filthy mess on the floors. The layer of dirt was so thick and black that we could not get it out with a steamer and it still is embedded in our floor. After a couple of days of this, we realized that it was because he was using incredibly old and filthy drop clothes. When he took them up at the end of the day, they left a layer of dirt. We brought this to Alex’s attention, but he ignored it. As a result, we went to Home Depot and purchased almost $200 of new drop clothes, which we insisted he use for the rest of the job and which solved that problem. You would think that professional painters would think to remove screens from windows (easily removed from the inside) instead of splattering them with paint that was almost impossible to remove. Both the first painter and his “regular” two-man crew who worked the second week managed to splatter mirrors, vanity tops, toilets, drawers, dressers, windows and practically everything else. When we grew concerned and began to point out furniture, fixtures and blinds which needed to be covered with plastic or taped, Alex grew angry, telling us his people did not like being told what to do. We began getting up at 7 am just to cover and tape these items ourselves because we knew if we didn’t they would be ruined. Even so it took us hours to clean off the mess they made after they were finished each day and when they finally left. We removed all pictures from the wall ourselves and told Alex that if we left the nail then they should leave it, but if there was a hole where the nail had been they should patch it. Fat chance. Most of the nail holes were never properly patched and in many cases where we left the nail his people just painted over it. We had new draperies put in with custom tie-backs. We removed the draperies so they would not be ruined and took out the tie-backs, leaving the screws in the wall so they could be put back in the right place and Alex’s people proceeded to paint over all the custom color screws. They even painted over pieces of blue painters’ tape and then left the tape on the walls. The end of each day was always a crazy time with Alex and his crew frantically moving furniture and cleaning up to get out as quickly as possible, leaving us no time to inspect the work. When we did, we inevitably found areas which required touchups, and then had to chase Alex around to tell him. By that time, we were exhausted from the prepping and cleaning that we were doing, which should have been done by Alex and his crew. By the end of the two weeks we could not wait for Alex and his crew to be gone. Alex and his crew had made our pool patio their staging area and when he was doing their final cleanup he told me that their power washer was broken. Needless to say, they left the pool patio with unsightly paint stains, which we had to clean up. We did bring in another company to power wash the pool patio, which did remove most of, but not all the paint stains left by Alex and his men. After we made the last payment, we noticed that the underlying paint was bleeding through on a wall in the family room, which obviously needed another coat of paint. I called Alex and he, to say the least, was not interested in quickly returning to fix the problem. Fortunately, I insisted on paying with a credit card and advised him that since the job was not finished to my satisfaction and if he did not return to fix it before the end of the week I would contest the charge. That got him moving and came by to give the wall another coat. Truth is we doubt that each wall received the two coats of paint Alex promised since the old paint colors are bleeding through in several rooms. I may be dating myself, but Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy would be a better choice to paint a house than Alex and his merry crew.

Everything was great. The painters were professional and neat. They were punctual and overall we were very happy with their work. We will be painting the outside of our home in the upcoming months and we will definitely use Flamingo Painting again.

The upshot: I hired Alex and Flamingo Painters to paint a condo I purchased in mid July 2016, based on reviews I read on Angie's list. I was extremely pleased with his service and highly recommend him. I would definitely hire him again. The details: I bought a 1250sqft, 2bed/2bath condo in mid-July 2016 and after closing I decided that I best have the unit painted. This left me in a bit of a hard spot, because I had exactly one week to get the painting done and hadn't scheduled anyone. I went on Angie's list and called several companies, including Flamingo. One company gave me a quote of $2000 over the phone, and didn't seem to particularly careful with their estimate. I had called Alex on Thursday morning and he came right away to see the unit for the quote that afternoon. His English is perfect and I had no trouble communicating with him (inability to communicate in English is a common problem for contractors here in Miami). He took a careful look (much more careful than the other two contractors), we discussed what paint should be used and why, how many coats (two), and agreed on all the various surfaces and doors that would be painted. Initially he proposed a relatively high price, but after some discussion in comparison with the quote of $2000, he brought the price down to $2300. Even though he wanted to start the next day, he was also willing to wait for confirmation until later in the afternoon while the third contractor came to give a quote. That contractor came in at $2500, and so although Alex's was not the lowest quote, I liked his responsiveness and attention to detail in comparison with the others and so I went with him and, boy, am I glad I did! Alex wanted to start the next day (Friday), because he thought that the painting would take about three and a half days, which would leave just enough time for the duct cleaners and house cleaners to come before the movers the following Friday. His team of two painters arrived at exactly 8:30am as promised. They did not speak English well, but Alex was extremely responsive and there much of the time to supervise the work, and this was not a problem. He was courteous, professional, and very eager to do the work and do it right. I asked for his team to take extra care of the new floors and to remove the grates, and they took my direction very well. Alex's attention to detail is remarkable, and was constantly inspecting the work being done, and pointing out to his crew various spots that needed touching up and attention. At the end of every day his crew cleaned up the worksite and they were quite respectful of the unit. They worked from 8:30am to about 3:30pm every day; they arrived on time usually to the minute. Alex would usually arrive later in the morning to supervise the work after the crew had set up, and leave as the crew was cleaning up the worksite for the day. He asked for 50% upfront and 50% when the job was done. The job took exactly the amount of time he predicted: the crew worked Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and finished before lunch on Wednesday (3.5 days). There was one wrinkle which Alex sailed through with flying colors. I thought that I would be able to remove and replace the baseboards in the kitchen, but when I went to do so, it turns out they were fixed in place. So they had to be painted, and with a second color (the walls were white, but the baseboard needed to be darker). Alex and I discussed what color they should be painted, and he brought his color samples up to compare. His recommendation was spot on, and he went to purchase a small bottle of that paint that evening so it could be painted the following day. He did not even charge me for the extra bottle of paint. They left small bottles of all three paints they used (two whites--flat and semi-gloss--and the dark baseboard color) for later touch-ups. I was extremely pleased with the work they did. Their attention to detail was remarkable and there was almost no splatter of paint anywhere in the unit. Alex is courteous and professional, with a remarkable attention to detail. They may not be the lowest of the low quotes, but you get what you pay for: highly recommended!

Alex and Ernest did a wonderful job on the house. They were easy to talk with and assured me that all the details would be taken care of. I asked them to match the existing color and they did. They took pride in their work and it showed. A beautiful job. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

It took him close to 2 weeks before he responded, and when he did, he didn't give me an estimate. He actually declined the work. He said he was doing some work in West Palm Beach so he regretted to let me know that he wasn't interested. I thought it was a little bit disappointing.

The is a very professional company.  Alex, the owner, is very hands on.  He is exceptionally responsive and was alway on time for appointments.   He gave a fair price for a large job (not cheap, but you get what you pay for).  He estimated a completion date and actually finished early.  The work was meticuloussly done -- actually quite flawless.  Its obvious that Alex takes pride in his business and his work.  And he's delightful to work with.  One challenge in this project is that this is not our primary residence, so we were not there to coordinate and monitor the work.   But it all worked out fine and I am very satisifed with the job.

Alex and his team are wonderful and very pleasant to work with. Even when we disagreed on our "vision" initially, we always came to an agreement, as Alex is very concerned with satisfying the customer. They paint wonderfully and the paint job came out perfect. Initially, there were a few paint droplet splatters around the floorboards, but they cleaned up the splattering once brought to their attention. Finally, they introduced me to a very tasty Latin food cafe! Can't say enough about Alex and his team!

Alex, the owner, was courteous and punctual.  The occasion when he was not on time he called ahead to warn me.  He thoroughly explained every aspect of the services he was going to provide.  He was not my cheapest bid, but he was available during the time frame I needed, besides, you usually get what you pay for.  His crew was courteous and performed their jobs quickly and professionally.  The only issue I had was during inspection we found that one of my flood lights was broken.  I am fairly certain that it happened during the painting, but it was old and brittle and not likely their fault.  Alex did help to repair it however.  The job was essentially complete on Friday before a long weekend, but he offered to wait around while I ran to Home Depot to get a replacement (not expensive, only $12).  His crew did the installation for me.  On a one story house this would of not been an issue but I have a two story house and climbing up the ladder to do this work at the roof line would have been difficult for me.  Overall I am pleased with job they did, more importantly my wife is happy the house is painted!
