ELYSE BOUTELLE LANDSCAPE DESIGN

When I first called Elyse I told her what we were looking for (as stated above). She told me she worked with a variety of plants and would come over & look at the area, then come back with an "Auto Cad" layout of her idea. Right away I told her no, we weren't interested in anything elaborate, just enough coverage of maintenance free plants in the front, very simple. At that time I told her we planned on only getting 2 estimates off of Angie's List. She said she always does the Auto Cad layout for her estimates to give clients a good idea of her layout, and it would be a free estimate. She came over and spent at least 2 hours measuring the areas and showing me plant options out of several books she brought with her. She was very nice and once again I emphasized that we wanted simple, maintenance free and were on a budget. She came back a couple weeks later an reviewed her Auto Cad layout and her list of plants and her estimate. I thanked her and told her I would discuss it with my husband and get back to her in a few days to let her know of our decision. After she left she noticed some potted plants on the side of our house. She came back and rang the door bell and told me she wanted the estimate with the plant list back, or charge me $200.00 for her Auto Cad time. She was obviously insulted that we got another estimate. I reminded her that we planned on getting 2 estimates and it would be hard for me to describe her plant list off of my memory to my husband, but I gave her back the plant list and Auto Cad design. Then she changed her mind and told me to keep it and discuss it with my husband and let her know. Both companies were going to use the same type of native plants. Needless to say we went the other company which was about $400.00 more. But it wasn't because of her odd behavior, as because we believed she is very good at what she does. We went with the other Company because we liked their design layout ideas much better.

Ms. Boutelle was professional in every way and I did not hesitate to have her perform her work without supervision and if a question arose she promptly contacted me regarding the smallest detail and quickly resolved any questions she may have had. In addition, through her, she provided ancillary contacts with regard to the gardens maintenance and professional installation of irrigation and misting systems. Her work was timely, expertly executed and gave me the garden of my vision. Not only do I find her highly qualified, but also that of her subcontractors as well. It has been two years since her initial installation. Through her guidance I still have a magnificent garden that is the envy of all my neighbors. She deserves a AAA+ rating.
