Description of Work: they came to do usual maintenance, and the AC happened to have an issue the day before they were scheduled; when they came they realized there was a leak of Freon, so they wanted to charge me $445.00 only to look for it plus the cost of fixing the leak and the gas re fill.. all that to discourage me from going that route and take them up on an offer of getting a NEW UNIT! justifying it by saying my AC was too old, even though I told them that the compressor was replaced less than 2 years ago. INSANE. |My usual guy came right after them, found the leak in 10 minutes, fixed it and refilled it in less than an hour all for $250.00... The unit has been working perfectly ever since. This proves the "good" intentions of this company. I have a copy of the written quote in case somebody wants proof.

Direct Air apologizes that we were not able to make the member happy or fulfill the members needs. We have tried numerous time to get in contact with the customer but with no results to find out why he is not happy and if there was anything else we could do. The member purchased a tune special that we have available. Now as an ac company we have different technicians to do service calls, tune ups and estimates. Since the customer purchased a tune up we sent our tune up technician to do the overview of the system. In all reality the unit did not need a tune up what member needed was a service in which we would have sent a different technician. Our technician advised the member of his different options. We gave the customer the option of doing a proper leak test and also the cleaning of the coil and blower since they were really dirty and dusty. due to the age of the unit we recommended replacement. The member declined our services. By DERM regulations a leak test has to be done legally by a licensed contractor. Putting the system under pressure. Not by filling it up with freon to determine where a leak is at since the freon will escape and will cause damage to our ozone. Also you cannot compare pricing since there is a difference in pricing from an actual licensed contractor to a person that is not licensed.

I do apologize if you feel it was absurd. For the first part you are stating the work was done Jan 10 2015 in which that would be incorrect since we went out to your home 12/8/14. So I am not sure if you are confusing us with another company. If that is not the case you quotation was only for $800 to fixed the problem, not $3000. We recommended to replace the unit since the unit is 11 years old and was in bad shape but that was just an option that was given to you. We pride ourselves in the work that we do and our professionalism. We are going to give you various options that we feel would best suit you needs. You had the option of repairing or replacing you chose neither and that is alright. Now in now way was my technician unprofessional with you and we arrived on time since you were called when we were on our way. So I am not understanding the grade you have given us. If you are so dissatisfied with our company please call met 305-596-2666 so that we may explain how we work and how our services are rendered. Again I apologize that you feel that way. Thank you

Description of Work: There was quite a hassle to get an appointment finalized. The deal said they would be doing up to 20 vents and the main duct but the workers gave us some story about why they couldn't do the main duct and we didn't have the time to pursue it. The workers were very pleasant however and seemed diligent but we weren't that pleased.
