Shortly after buying our new home, we were fined by Miami Dade County for the house's generator. It had been installed illegally by the previous owner and the list of problems was endless. The generator, as well as the gas and electrical systems needed to run it, had to be moved from one end of our yard to the other. If this sounds like it should be a simple task, I can assure you it was anything but. The installation had been botched by the previous owner and it felt as if the entire code enforcement department was breathing down our necks over every detail. They really threw the book at us. I don't know how Mike, Ed and Jose managed to finish the job without strangling someone (particularly my husband!), but they all deserve medals of honor for their patience throughout the ordeal. The job was done on time (no thanks to the county) and within the price they quoted. As arduous as the job was, they handled it with grace and professionalism, and I am happy to say we now have a generator that operates safely and passed its final inspection!
