He was just great! He came in the evening and made a special trip to my home to give me an estimate. He came back two days later and took care of the work needed. He called the next day to ask how I liked the work, and I had some concerns. He came out and took care of the issues promptly. I was so impressed with his work that I hired him to do additional work on my back patio.

I had an electric problem with my swim spa. He diagnosed it as a bad GFCI outlet and said he would come the next day at 9 for an addition $100 plus parts to replace. He showed up at 9 which was amazing, however I was in the shower and my wife had stepped out. I found his message at about 9:12 and called him back. He was p***** about noone being available which I can understand. He said he had gone on to his next job and I never heard back from him. It turns out he was wrong about his diagnosis of the problem.

In south Florida there is a high rate of contractors that do not follow code or protocol and In this particular situation the homeowner had power installed for his Jacuzzi the incorrect way and has been experiencing problems. His equipment was inspected and we first decided at my cost that we would first try replacing his GFI breaker and then go further if the problem was not resolved. I purchased the equipment informed him i would be back the next morning at 9am. The drive from our office was pretty far away and he was the only customer in the complete opposite direction from any of the other appointments that day. I got there at 8:52am, the front gate was open, there was no vehicle on the property, I rang the doorbell, I called his phone, waited until 9:05 and left. The gentleman contacted me around 9:15am explaining he was in the shower and his wife had left with the car. He wanted me to return but I had already called my next customer and was some distance away on the highway. We discussed rescheduling and that he would contact me with a date that he would be available that did not coincide with any prior appointments I've had made. I've never heard from him and after reading his review I'm assuming he did not contact me because he assumed I was upset about the situation which entirely I was not things happen. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Wayne and his assistant are very hard working and professional. I was very pleased with the results and have already asked them to do additional work for me. They installed LED lighting, transformers as needed and buried all the wiring without disturbing the landscaping already in place. Wayne called that night of the work to make sure I was happy with the lighting effects. It is wonderful. Also, I now feel more secure with my backyard well lighted. (Now, IF I wanted to take the garbage out at night I could.)

We were so impressed with Wayne. Wow was our reaction. We were so pleased with the landscape lighting work he did. It was both physically back breaking, but he also has an artistic perspective that enhanced our landscape lighting. We plan to call upon him again very soon for some more jobs including under and above kitchen cabinet lighting and running a line to be able to install a pool heater later on. . We were also impressed with Wayne's friendly, yet professional personality and his timeliness. He was prompt, yet when running behind, had the courtesy to call ahead to alert us of the delay. We would be pleased to refer Wayne to others.

He didn’t actually check every outlet, even thought he said he would. He did quote me some prices to replace one electrical box. I was not there when he did the inspection, my wife was; He showed up to do the inspection. I only talked to him on the phone about the price. The price was quite high.

Florida has a very bad surge problem currently that even FPL has been advising customers in install whole home surge protectors. What makes these surge issues even worst are out of date and out of code service equipment (panels, fuse boxes, AC disconnects, grounding, breakers, etc...). A majority of homes in Florida are equipped with very outdated service equipment and at times has even been overloaded by inexperienced electricians. The mere fact that the equipment functions tend to make home owner doubtful of the costly repair off updating or correcting. Our job in these home inspections is to be truthful of our finds and to educate the customer on such, at that point it's the customers choice to have it professionally repaired or updated by our company or use the information to their best comfort.

An electrical whole home inspection is Exactly that. This gentleman is now the owner of a much older home that his father formally owned. He purchased the "whole home inspection" deal tho his main concern was for a light fixture that stopped working. I pin pointed the issue with the lighting and carried out the inspection that was paid for. The electrical service at his home is out dated, out of code and the house is not grounded correctly, I've brought this to his attention, he was mainly concerned with the light fixture that did not work and explain that for panel repair he'll need months to save up for that repair. I sympathized with him explained that it was my job to point out what I saw wrong or out dated with anything electrical that I found at his home. I advised that he has been living with it this way and it would be a matter of his choice in having it repaired.

He showed up and didn't have a business card or offer to even write his information down. It was totally unprofessional. I told him that I had two areas that I wanted to discuss lighting for. I gave him my ideas and he agreed with my ideas and that was all. I asked him to write the estimates separately so that I could do the two areas at different times. He told me that he wouldn't give me an estimate in writing unless and until I signed up to have the work done, otherwise it was a waste of his time. I would never use him again, and I don't think anyone should.

This is the "Angies list deal" purchased by {removed member name) Discussion regarding how much lighting is desired, whether primary needs are decor or security, and electrical output limitations Evaluation of your current light system Recommendations for improvement of your current light system Member will receive a $250 credit toward installation orders with 12 or more lights. $49" I visited (removed member name) house to accomidate the deal she purchased. {removed member name}showed me that towards the front of her house she had a light fixture above the front door and a light pole out in the front yard that both ran on the same switch and wanted my suggestions for enhancements. I suggested landscape lighting fixtures to compliment all the trees and landscaping at the front yard area. I then went on to suggesting LED light fixtures, calculating wattage load based on the quantity of fixtures to be used for energy saving, spent some time measuring and analyzing the amount of fixtures needed, and also for providing power for the transformer that would power the lights. We also covered the back area of her house where she had a motion security light and three wall light fixtures that she was not happy with the location of and quality of lighting. I had her open the garage so I could inspect sourcing power for some security lighting that I suggested for anyone commuting to and from the garage through the backyard that they may have the proper lighting. As well she suggested for two of the wall light fixtures to just have them replaced because they were old and broken. Since one of the fixtures was assembled between the eves of the roof and seemed somewhat rigged I suggested to her to use a wall pack which I had to describe to her what it was. I then put together the costs for the entire job and she was ready to move forward. She asked me for a business card and it just so happened that day I did not have anymore cards at my disposal but I explained to her that her and I have already been in communications through Angie's List where my information is also listed and apologized for not having a card. She then further went on to ask me to split the both jobs up which I did. She then asked for a written estimate and I explained that the deal she purchased for $49 was for verbal communications and it would be unfair at this point for me to give a detailed written estimate. However, when I invoiced her it would be very detailed of the job. I believe it's very fair giving a verbal design, verbal estimate, and providing a detailed written invoice when an agreement for the work is reached.

The deal that was ran was for a home inspection. That deal would mostly get attention of home owners with older homes that have concerns of their older equipment or old wiring. Newer homes woulf normally have specific issues that requires a service call an issue difference than the deal that was ran. I arrived at the gentleman's home he needed general maintenace services(programming timers, etc) done to his home that he started pointing out to me. I explained to him that it was a misunderstanding of the deal which he purchased and it seemed as though he actually needed an electrical service and I would authorize a full refund of the deal. He quickly produced an attitute and gave off a response that I was obligated by the deal to facilitate him or I would "feel the consequences of his review" I respectively let him know that he was out of my zone and I was trying to accomodate him based on Angie's List involvement but I will no longer be able to facilitate his needs and his erractic behavior and left his residence.

The landscape lighting was so professional and impressive, it made me realize I needed new landscaping. I'm glad that I upgraded both. Wayne has been very responsive for numerous issues in the house. Replaced electrical meter box fine. Price included $400 for a surge protector which I thought necessitated some rewiring of the electrical supply wiring. Instead device is small, about the size of a calculator charger, which mounts on the outside of the panel and is just connected inside the panel. Later found out device can be purchased at Home Depot for about $45 and it took him less than 15 minutes to install it. I felt $400 was a bit of a ripoff and asked for a partial refund. Wayne was very rude on the phone, kept talking over me, and finally hung up on me. We had other problems also but the charge for the surge protector is my main gripe. Wouldn't use him again.

[member name removed]called for me to replace his meter box because FPL removed his meter and provided him temporary power until he had the box repaired by a licensed electrician. His home is believed to be built in the 1960s or possibly later and electric was old, out dated, and not to code. He first demanded that I pull a permit for the work to be done at that time I advised in doing so ( engineering drawings, permit and inspection fees, and present day code changes that the city would require). I also advised him at that time that the job could be done simply by us replacing the meter and my company calling FPL providing my license and insurance information followed by FPL inspecting the job. However, he was persistent on going through the city. I also advised him at that time that the reason his meter box had shorted out was due to surge issues and the matter could be resolved by a costly repair of replacing his out dated equipments and grounding his electrical panels correctly to today's codes. He informed me that the burden of that expense would be that of whomever would purchase his home in the future. We discussed a cheaper temporary resolution to avoid a similar occurrence to his new meter can by adding a surge protector to his panel. I also advised him he could use FPL's surge protector that they install for a monthly fee or he could have one installed for a 1 time fee of $350 by my company. After spending one week getting engineer drawings, meetings with the city of Miami beach, and advising [member name removed] of the city's requirements in updating the electrical at his home to facilitate the city's codes of installing the new meter he then advised he would rather not go through the city if I am certain FPL would install the meter by me providing my license information to them. At that point the initial bill with my company for the repairs was $1400 of which [member name removed] made $1000 deposit toward the engineer drawings, my electrical materials, and labor. After spending several hours meeting with the city of Miami beach and paying for engineer drawing I sympathized with [member name removed] situation of his concerns of a costly repair and completed the job of installing the new meter can ( while the electricity from FPL was still running to avoid him any lengthy downtime of FPL turning the power off and coming back out to turn it back on), installing a surge protector to safe guard him from similar issues occurring, and personally calling FPL once the repair was complete and having them come to his home to re install the new meter. The entire project along with the changes my company did for the initial deposit only ($1000). Two weeks later [member name removed] contacted me stating he researched surge protectors and found that they can be purchased at Home Depot for $49 and asked what my typical cost to install a surge protector alone was. I explained to him that the cost would be $350 ( material and labor) and that there are differences in surge protectors. Added to which the size of the surge proctor he is claiming I installed doesn't even exist and the one we installed is much larger then he is describing above. He then accused me of owing him a partial refund on the work I finished for him due to the cost of the surge protector that he researched which was not the one installed at his home . At that point I was completely mortified by [member name removed] phone call and his thoughts. I then went on to refuse his partial refund and pointed out his ingratitude for the extent that my company went in accommodating his situation. In closing, any customer having concerns about a surge protector cost can simply tally over a period of time FPL's monthly rate for their installation and make there best assessment of [member name removed] motives.

I had a great experience with Décor Electricity. Wayne did an analysis for me on Monday, based on my concern about the electrical load in the household. He addressed my concerns and explained his recommendations for work to be done. He was very clear about the tasks, the order of priority and about my cost choices. We agreed on what he was going to do, and he was ready to begin the next day. I put the work off one day for my convenience, but he arrived promptly as agreed on Wednesday morning. I was most impressed with his preparation. First of all, he suggested I cool the house as much as possible before he began, so that when he turned the power off, it would stay cooler longer. We were all more comfortable because of his recommendation! Secondly, he had quoted a price based on a standard circuit breaker but when he went to purchase it, found a different model, which included a surge protector. He thought it would better fit my needs and concerns about the electric load in the household. It was more expensive, but he purchased the better model and arrived early enough to explain his choice and reasoning. He indicated that if I preferred the less expensive model, he would return the more expensive one and install the original one as agreed. He had allowed enough time to make the return and still start work in the window of time we had agreed on. I felt no pressure to go with the more expensive item--it didn't change his service cost any, except that he would 'lose' the time and gas for the return. He used good logic in making his choice, and demonstrated a real understanding of my concerns. I had him install the new model. At one point, I commented on his approach to putting in the circuit breaker and he told me that he did it this way so that he did not have to cut the wall to accommodate a new size box and incur the extra expense of wall repair after he was done. I was pleased with his foresight and consideration. What could have been a messy, extended job was quick, easy and totally complete in no time. I was also impressed that he finished the installation in the two hours he estimated, and that was even with my questions and with me watching over his shoulder. I am always curious and eager to learn about my home and the systems that make it function, and he was friendly, responsive and left me feeling very confident of his work. He made some corrections to the wiring in the new circuit breaker because, he explained, the original wiring would not have protected my appliances as it should have. I understand enough about the principles of circuit breakers to know he was right. Again, I appreciated his expertise as well as his communication. He answered all my questions patiently and respectfully, and made sure I knew everything I needed and wanted to know. He also made sure that the new circuit breaker was labeled properly and thoroughly cleaned up after himself. I felt very comfortable having him in my home, extremely confident of his skills, delighted with his work, and could whole-heartedly recommend him and his work to anyone who asks.
