I have used Cousins Tile Contractors for many years now and each project (kitchen tiles and four bathrooms) has turned out perfectly. Jesse the owner is so easy to deal with and the work that he completes is always perfect and he keeps a very clean job site. I highly recommend Cousins Tile Contractor.

I hired him for the second phase of tiling my floors back in May. Emptied tge two rooms of everything and he c cancelled a few days before the appointed date. Mad another appointment two weeks ago, emptied the rooms once again and yesterday, the day before the work should start he called to postpone again. I was not happy and let him know so he " some how" worked it out. He showed up this morning and started immediately to co plain about how the tiles were stotred the shape of the room and finally lied saying he had never said he could do the job in two days. When I asked him if he really wanted the job or if I should call someone else, he statred yelling at me and saying I was picking on a 65 year old man. Then when I tried to reason with him he said I was holding him against his will and he was going to call 911. This man must weigh close to 300 pounds and had his helper with him. I am 64 and weigh nothing near that. He had a tiler install a large job 2 years ago and it looks beautiful. Unfortunately he is either very unprofessional dishonest man who had some reason he could not abide by the agreement or he is just getting old and his grey cells are acting up. Do not hire him D & B tile should beware of who is representing them. Lucky for me there are hundreds of great tile contractors in Miami and 2 hours later I have already hired somoeone else.

Jesse and his team were fantastic. They did excellent work installing the tile (including matching it with the older tile in the adjacent hallway). Jesse was very responsive and followed through promptly. My impression of Jesse is that he is a person of high ethical standards in doing business, which is nice to find. I recommend them highly.

I needed repairs done in my family room and bathrooms. In my kids' bathroom the tiles literally just started falling off one by one one the wall. The worst was in my family room... the sliding door in my family room was old and the track was letting water leak in every time it rained. after about a year the tiles lifted and formed like a bridge/tenting form and eventually i just pulled them out myself. for about 4 months i had no tiles there, i removed 7 tiles. i had impact sliding doors installed to prevent any further water intrussion and then Joel came last night and repaired my floors!!!

PROFESSIONAL! BEAUTIFUL! INTEGRITY! I have a lot to say about Jesse and Joel, and the superb work they did, especially because my pool/patio had a lot of issues and needed so much work done. In order to really appreciate the work that Jesse did, you need to know what he had to deal with. I hope this review will not only help people decide that the only tile company they need to choose is Cousin's, but also help them make better choices after reading about my experiences during this process. Inform yourselves! Google for information. Get a lot of quotes. Don't go with the cheapest, you get what you pay for! And when I tell you that you can trust Jesse and Joel, you really can! They answer your questions and tell you what you need to know, even if you don't know to ask it. I have never worked with people as honest, knowledgable and professional as Jesse and Joel. Hiring them is like winning the Lottery of Tile Companies. You will get back so much more than you pay, in a beautiful, professional and correct-the-first-time job! Jesse emailed me 2 quotes based on 2 different patterns I was considering, (Diagonal or French...I went with French because Diagonal uses more tile, due to more cuts and is costlier.) He even met me at D&B Tile when I was having trouble deciding which tile to get and answered all of my questions re different tile types, as well as how natural stone reacted with salt water pools, (it's not a problem ). Here are the things that Jesse did, in chronological order. Hope I didn't leave anything out. He did a lot of work and it is all superior. I feel like I'm living in a resort whenever I look out at my new patio, pool and fabulous waterline tile that Jesse set! :) Jesse cut a trench through the concrete deck to assist my electrician when she needed to replace the wiring and conduit for the light; He prepped the coping area, removed, chiseled, ground with tools and smoothed it; He built a wood form around the coping area, where he poured concrete, remolding and meticulously measuring the coping base; he corrected the coping height all the way around the pool. (Please note: I had paid the pool company to remove the coping. They did a horrible job, so I paid Jesse to do it right, and he did it with perfection. My first lesson...have Jesse to do it right the first time!); Jesse set the travertine coping precisely, cutting the pieces to follow the serpentine S-curves of our 'kidney shaped' pool. He had given me choices of grout color and made recommendations depending on the tile he was setting. I went with his recommendations and the color match was perfect; My contract with the pool company, (that was working ahead of Jesse, to prep the pool), included installation of the new waterline tile. I had purchased glass tile for the waterline, stairs and tops of the 2 benches I was having added to the pool. The pool crew was supposed to remove the old waterline tile, etc. Instead, they brushed the bond material OVER the old waterline tile and stair tile, which is completely unacceptable! The pool company owner said it was OK like that and they would install the new tile over the old! I couldn't believe the arrogance and incompetence of this pool company! Plus, he admitted that he could not cut glass tile. I told him that he was no longer doing my waterline tile and deducted that from the pool price. I would much rather have a Master Tiler such as Jesse, prepping the surface of and laying the waterline tile on to the pool, stairs and benches. Jesse came through and did an amazing job with the glass tile. His work is precise. He is very particular and nothing gets past him; Jesse prepped the pool floor and laid 3 turtle mosaics, after he did the glass waterline tile (before the pool company had their crew do the diamond brite); Jesse 'floated the deck', which meant mixing and spreading a thin layer of a substance that was like a thin concrete/plastic material that smoothed over the entire deck, which dries to a smooth hard surface, prepping it for the tile to come. ('Plastic' may be the wrong description, but it's what it felt like): Jesse built a wooden form around my crumbling patio door bases, poured concrete and placed rebar, to repair and widen the bases for the impact glass doors that we intend to buy, but didn't get to before the patio tiling was to be installed. After we get the doors installed, Jesse will return to finish up the edges, as we decided to add a travertine 'base board' all along the exterior wall of the patio, but can't do it until the doors are in); Joel cut the travertine tile and Jesse laid it, in a French pattern. It is beautiful! It is graded, so the water goes away from the house and pool, just like it did before he started; Joel cut a difficult circular 'collar' from one piece of tile, to put on top of the tile, and underneath the new 'in-deck' skimmer lid, so that it laid flat between the coping and the new level of the floor; Jesse put a new stainless steel drain cover over the patio drain; Jesse and Joel grouted the patio; After the grout dried, Jesse's wife, Ria, assisted Jesse, cleaning and preparing the patio for a penetrating sealer that Jesse highly recommend. They vacuumed and then washed the patio twice. The following day, Ria came to seal the patio. She was very thorough and got all of the nooks and crannies; (Jesse told me that the sealants that give tile the 'wet look' eventually peel under the UV light of the sun, leaving the patio splotchy, and that it was not the best choice. He recommended a penetrating sealant.) Jesse always arrived exactly when he said he would, on time and ready to work. His assistants were very capable and professional. After each days work, everyone cleaned up leftover tile pieces, cleaned their tools and plaster buckets, neatly stacked tile that they were going to use, as well as the extra pieces that were saved in case they were needed later. They always left the patio and side yard neat; Add to this huge job the complexity and constraints of having to work in between the schedules of the 3 other companies that were working on my pool/patio/pergola at the same time, plus coordinating the other jobs that Jesse was also committed to, and you have the formula for a perfect storm...and yet, it never happened! Jesse was like a machine...always there when he said he would be. He told me ahead of time if he wouldn't be there, and who would be, and that person was there, on time. Everyone at Cousins Tile has been a complete pleasure to work with. Jesse is a Master Tiler and Artist, with over 40 years experience, and Joel, literally born into the trade, has several decades of tiling experience, training and knowledge. Their 'Standard' is far Superior to others in their field. They are not the cheapest, (never hire the cheapest) and they are not the highest. Their work is excellent! And they are excellent people as well as masters of their craft. They take great pride in their work and you will to. Thank you Jesse, Joel & Ria! We look forward to working with you in the very near future!

His work was Excellent. Our contractor was always 'right on top' of everything. He did the work himself and had three other men assisting him. Every one was polite and efficient. Our contractor was meticulous and the job they did is the highest quality. He pays close attention to detail and everyone who has seen these two bathrooms have been amazed not only by how beautiful they are BUT they have said they have never seen such quality detail work. We would use him again in a heart beat!

Jesse was truly old school all the way...He cleaned up after each work day ( in between the rain) and did a first class job. Good craftsmen are worth the money so if you have some tile work to be done, give this guy a call. P.S. Tile materials of coarse were not included in this labor charge.

I cannot recommend Jesse Vazquez and Cousins Tile enough! I hired him based on his Angie's List reviews and I was not disappointed. The job was installing a kitchen backsplash that also included going up, over, and inside of a fairly large pass through sliding window installation. The result was nothing short of amazing. The installation was impeccable. Each suggestion that Jesse offered only improved the overall look of the kitchen. He answers his phone. He shows up when he is supposed to. He actually finished the job sooner than he had scheduled. His pricing is right on. We plan on redoing our master bathroom soon and believe me when I tell you that he will be our only call, and if you need any type of tile work done, he should be your only call too!

I cannot say enough good things about Jessie and his company, Cousins Tile. I was so apprehensive hiring anyone for such a major operation. I visited several houses where Jessie put tile in before. Wow! Jessie removed and installed over 1000 feet of tile in my home. The result is flawless. I mean everything is absolutely perfect! He personally did a couple of other things in my house such as changing leaking water connections and all without charge. This guy is honest, reasonable in price and a real master at his work. I guarantee that you will never find anyone as expert as he! Jessie is located in Miami. His phone number is (786) 370-3555.

The patio concrete floor had some red paint on it, the only contractor who told us that even if you don't hire me, its OK but the paint had to be removed for properly laying the tiles otherwise it would eventually pop and crack, we called several other tile laying contractors but none were ready to do the messy job of paint removal/ grinding/sanding. Although Cousin Tile's price quote was more than our target outlay, after researching about the paint and how Jesse explained to us the importance of removing that paint, we went with hiring him. We are pleased that we did. His men were punctual, cleaned up and did a wonderful job. For a good tile job, Jesse is the one.
Description of Work: Grind/Sand paint off of the concrete patio floor, lay ceramic tiles on the floor with mud bed and bonding. The removal of the paint on the floor was the most labor intensive and messy job but his team of men did a thorough job of removing the paint.

They immediately returned my call and set up an appointment to come out and discuss my needs where several others didn't even return my calls. They arrived on time. Jesse (the owner) made suggestions on how to cure some drainage problems and answered all my questions. They promptly provided via e-mail an estimate which I accepted. They refused a deposit until they had ACTUALLY started to do the work. They arrived on time and worked continuously on pre-scheduled work days. They worked through the weekend anticipating rain the upcoming week. They were extremely concerned that I was satisfied with every step of the installation including grout colors which were all different for each area. I felt very comfortable working with Jesse in all respects and would highly recommend them for anyone looking for tile installation. I am soooo happy with the result. We mostly used wood look tiles (different kinds) and especially on the upright pillar (a rustic barn wood look) and am amazed at how much of a difference it made. Again, very very happy. Thank you, Jesse.
Description of Work: Tiled cement block pillar full height of house (after covering with cement board), tiled 4' x 18' front entrance wall (after having to grind down every inch to remove paint), repaired and installed new re-paver bricks, removed old tiles and had to grind cement paint improperly left underneath on a small screened-in patio and cement pad outside after repairing damaged cement and solving drainage problems. Installed cherry wood look tiles on the patio in herringbone design. Sealed all grout.

Our master bath shower needed to be torn out and rebuilt due to plumbing issues. Jesse and his wife Rhea provided their estimate when they said they would, along with an estimate on renovation of a second bathroom. They started work promptly, even coming to remove our vanity early on a Saturday morning when it was unexpectedly necessary, in order to accommodate our plumber. Jesse did a great job solving problems and rebuilding our shower, which turned out to have a number of structural issues. The tile work, done by Melvin, was beautiful and accomplished in record time. Work on the second bathroom, which was not an emergency, was also started even before the estimated time frame. Again, Jesse and his wife were great, going with me and helping to select the tub, vanity, etc. needed for the bathroom and delivering everything to my home. Once I picked out the tile from D & B, Jesse took care of ordering the correct amounts and transporting it to our house. This bathroom is tiled and almost complete at this point, and looks beautiful. Jesse has coordinated the plumbing and electrical work along with the tile. I appreciate the fact that he has listened to any concern I brought up & found a way to promptly deal with the issue. They have arrived promptly and worked steadily, again solving problems that come up with a 50 year old house. We are pleased enough with the workmanship and reliability of this company that we have decided to continue on with renovations to our 3rd bathroom. As soon as the second bathroom was usable, Jesse started on the next one. This was not part of our original plan, but the bathroom is old and we want to take advantage of contractors that we have come to trust. The estimate for this one is also very reasonable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cousin's Tile for any bathroom renovation.
