Carlos Torres the owner is a SCAMMER!!! He preys on people and steals their money. Someone needs to stop this guy from ripping people off. He claimed he was installing a NEW compressor in my refrigerator when all he did was install a broken used compressor that didn't work the next day and charge me $500. He is a LIAR & a CON MAN. I have posted bad reviews on every social media website. All his review say the same thing "BEWARE THIS GUY IS EVIL" His intentions are to ripe you off.

We gave them money down so they could order a part for our refrigerator, a front panel. They called back and said they couldn’t get the panel. They never returned the money. I’ve called them numerous times asking for a return for the money, which I believe was $300 and they never returned the money. I went online and looked up refrigerator repair. We had a Gen-Air refrigerator so it’s hard to find repair places who service those. These people didn’t really service them very good either. Then they took off with the money to boot. We ended up buying a new refrigerator. I would highly recommend against using their services.
Description of Work: Repaired a refrigerator They repaired the refrigerator and it failed within a year. Then we ordered a part through them.

WARNING!!! AVOID THIS 'COMPANY', GUY LIKE A PLAGUE!!!! My LG refrigerator stopped getting cold (it was still cooling, but not freezing). I unfortunately ended up with Carlos Torres of CNM, (not a company, but some guy who's doing his own thing. I found this out when it was too late.) I Googled repairs and I found a web site (call center) that connects you to service technicians. The tech, Carlos Torres, came, looked at it and said the gas wasn't flowing properly so he'll need to change the part. He changed the part and it still wasn't working, so he said he didn't realize the compressor wasn't working and he'll return the next day to complete the job. He came 9:30 PM the next day and changed the compressor and the fridge still isn't working. By the way, he left my house almost 12AM. The funny thing is, I knew something was wrong because he called someone while he was working on the compressor and he spoke to the person on the other end of the line in Spanish, not knowing that I know a little Spanish. He was asking the person for help. He charged me $748 (but he was only able to cash the first check of $350, I was able to get the second check cancelled) and I'm worse off than I was when he came. When he came, the fridge was cooling a little, the food in the fridge wouldn't have gone bad. Now, the fridge isn't cooling AT ALL. EVERYTHING had to be thrown out. I texted him (after trying to reach him by phone several times) to let him know the job wasn't done properly and I didn't want him back at my house. The same day he turned up at my house at 7PM (no call to say he was coming) with 2 other guys. One he brought to help him work on the fridge. Of course, I turned him away, told him I didn't want him touching my fridge. He asked me about his 'compressor' and I told him he got $350). I am convinced this fraud removed parts from my fridge that wasn't necessary, because he had NO IDEA what he was doing. I had a reputable company come out to look at the fridge. They told me the compressor installed by Carlos, CNM, is a Whirlpool compressor that is faulty and would not work with an LG. Plus, that compressor was old. Sears had to order a compressor and the other part Carlos removed from my fridge. Luckily, they were able to get the parts from LG for free. 1. Carlos Torres is a fraud, a wannabe repairer. 2. He has no respect for your home and time.
Description of Work: 'Replaced' incompatible and old compressor in my LG fridge. Did not do the job and could not do the job. This is a handyman type of guy, not someone you want working on your expensive appliances. You probably could trust him with a fridge from 1988.

A nightmare. The contractor shows up at my lobby, because he couldn't come in through receiving because they had no insurance. It was an emergency, so I went to pick him up but this should have been a red flag. Charges me $235 to " replace door sensor" Ok fine. 2 weeks later the machine stops working. The two screws that hold the lid switch are missing and there is no switch... I Assume switch fell off. To make a long story short, the tech didn't install a new switch, He just cut it out and bypassed it (a safety risk) but charged me for a new one, I was ripped off. I am going straight to BBB with this. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

The problem with the refrigerator was that it would run until it shut down to defrost, but would not restart. To start the unit, I had to pull the plug each time. Thereafter, it would fail in the same way again and again. After being late by 2 hours Carlos Torres, the owner of C.N.M. Repair of Miami, Florida finally appeared. Torres inspected the refrigerator and determined that there was a bad master circuit board. I was given a cost to repair of a little more than $500 and I approved the work. Torres returned the next day with what he said was a new circuit board and installed the item. The refrigerator ran, but when it shut down for the defrost cycle, it would not restart which was exactly what it had been doing before Torres replaced the board. I called Torres several times and finally received a return call several days later. Torres returned, looked at the refrigerator and said that he found a loose wire that he had failed to connect....he then left. At this point, I reminded Torres that he had guaranteed his repairs and that my patience was wearing thin. Torres told me that if he could not repair it, he would give me all of my money back!!!!! By the next day, it was clear that the refrigerator still was not operating properly, so I again called Torres. Torres returned about a week later with one of his friends and removed the refrigerator, taking it to his shop. Torres returned the refrigerator several days later, but, the problem still persisted. It was a this point, after 4 service calls and many weeks without an operating refrigerator that I asked Torres to stand behind his guarantee and return my money. Torres said that he would but that he had paid around $100 for the circuit board and wanted the board back. I said OK, but I wanted the old board. Torres said that he no longer had the old board because he had traded it in on the new board. I said OK, then give me back $400! It was a this point that I contacted another U-Line repair company by the name of Neptune Air Corporation. Neptune arrived the day after I called, removed the refrigerator to their shop, found that the circuit board that CNM had installed was inoperative, replaced the board and the unit has been working fine ever since! I called Torres of CNM to ask again for my refund and was asked to send him a copy of the Neptune invoice (It was for a little over $500) which I did, both via e mail and text message. It has now been 3 weeks and many, many phone calls since I sent copy of the Neptune invoice to Carlos Torres of CNM for the promised refund......I cannot obtain a return phone call, I have received no return e mails, NOTHING!!! I am filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, bad reviews with Yelp, Facebook, Angie's List, Google and any other review sites possible. I doubt that Torres will ever reply or stand behind his work as he had promised, so I am now in the process of filing a suit in Small Claims Court......maybe the judge will get some attention? My experience has been that this company does not have the expertise to perform reliable repairs to U-Line refrigerators and that they will not stand behind their warranty/guarantee.......I have absolutely nothing good to say about the service or lack thereof from Carlos Torres and his company, CNM Repair.
Description of Work: CNM Repair Services was called to repair a malfunctioning U-Line under counter refrigerator. The unit was running, but when it went through the defrost cycle, it would not restart.

Service man came and replaced the ice maker which was not working properly. I called a few times to let him know it still was not working. I had to wait for a few days because of his schedule. He came back and replaced a sensor in the freezer. Still did not work. The water lines were not checked on either of the 2 visits. I have been trying to get him back since November of last year. I have called countless times, sent emails and left messages. This job cost $239.00 and I still do not have a call back or ice. I like supporting small businesses but this was an expensive mistake. My 90 day warranty is up and I am out $239. Do not use this company. Oh, and trying to reach him on cell is difficult at best, you have to speak to a lady that typically has screaming children in the background. She would always say she would let him know I called. Description of Work: HE NOT ONLY CAME TO MY APARTMENT ON CHRISTMAS DAY, AS OWNER OF HIS COMPANY -- BUT ALSO BROUGHT WITH HIM AN OWNER OF REFRIGERATOR COMPANY WHO OFFERED A REPLACEMENT FRIDGE FOR A SUB-ZERO REFRIGERATOR WHICH HAD BEEN FALSELY DIAGNOSED AND BADLY REPAIRED BY ANOTHER SERVICE. Everything was melting or damaged in freezer and fridge. SPOKE TO ME XMAS EVE AT 9 PM AND ARRIVED ON XMAS DAY! THIS KIND OF SERVICE IS MORE MIRACULOUS THAN JUST "EXCELLENT" AND HE SHOULD BE A LOT BUSIER !!! needless to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WITH MINOR REPAIR PROBLEMS (HANDYMAN CATEGORY) TO MAJOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT ISSUES (REFRIGERATOR, ETC.) HE WILL BE PROMPT, WARM, EFFICIENT ! P.S. HE REFUSED TO TAKE A BONUS AND WILL GIVE ME THE 'LOANER" FOR A MONTH SHOULD I NEED IT !

Carlos and his associate showed up as scheduled, within two hours of being called on a saturday morning. There was no discussion of premium or overtime pay - they just went about attacking the problem. My wife feared that since the refrigerator and freezser was to be shut down for repairs that we would have to throw out $500-$700, Carlos promised us that we would not, and he was rignt. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Our GE refrigerator was not cooling or freezing the food properly. Carlos and his associate came out and quickly diagnosed one of the heating elements as being faulty, and advised us that secondly, the coils were dirty. They were both very professional and competant, and completed the repairs in a timely maner. To their credit, they also cleaned up what was a bit of a messy job as they went along. End result - within two hours, both the refrigerator and freezer were working perfectly.
