BRC CONSTRUCTION

Overall my experience with BRC Construction was awful. They have abandoned the project without explanation. On the advice of The City of South Miami Building Department, I'm seeking a New Contractor. I'm also exploring the possibility of a Civil Law Suit. In the meantime, my Home Owners Insurance has warned me to get the wall fixed or they will not renew my policy.

BRC Construction gets a mixed review. The quality of the work is good, but they were delayed because they didn't have the proper permits and one of their representatives lied to me about their progress in getting the permits. I didn't get the shutters for over a month.

I chose the company because they had up-to-date general contractors licenses. I had found that many who claimed to be licensed were not. I contracted for this work in mid December and was told it would begin after the first of the year. In February I contacted them to ask about the work. In the contract, they had agreed to take out all the necessary permits. I was told the work would begin soon. After some time passed, I began calling to ask if they had begun the steps necessary for the permit. On more than one occasion their representative gave me incorrect information about the status of the permit. Toward the end of February the work was begun without having taken out the permit. The actual installation of the shutters was done quickly (one day) and in a workmanlike manner. The permit was pulled a day or two after the job was finished, but there were no problems at the inspection. Despite the delays and false excuses I am quite satisfied with the finished product.
