The owner comes out to assess what needs to be done. He is available when I need him to answer any questions I have .He is professional and always takes my calls. His staff is great to work with as well.

They are pretty good. The technician showed up on time. He advised me not to water the grass. Then it rained, and he came back out soon after and did another application. He is always very responsive to my calls and even gave me a military discount.

Very nice/professional on phone. After fertilizing and treating our lawn for ants or chinch bugs we were having no luck for months-the backyard had started getting brown areas. They came and treated the property while we were at work, sent us a bill and the yard is green again. Ants are all gone too. Would definitely use them again!

They first sprayed my yard end of October 2013 after I had most of the grass replaced. Last year my sod died and I had seen white moths and patches of brown dead grass. I called Bob's Bugs based on Angie's list reviews and her spent a lot of time on the phone with my explaining the issues from what I described. He also gave me a website for more info on lawns and bugs. He said it sounded like sod webworms and maybe a fungus. His tech could verify this when they came pout to spray the yard. The tech Dave and his helper were prompt on time and looked over the lawn and told me what they would use for the issues. Bob had recommended repeating the service in 2 months which we did 1/9/2014 after the Oct. 2013 first service.

I scheduled an appointment at 10:00. I had to call at 10:15 to inquire about the whereabouts of their representative as no one had shown which is why I rated them a C for punctuality. However, after I spoke to Bob personally and discussed the situation, he came over within 30 minutes to handle my appointment. He explained that there was some disconnect in his office and he recognized the fault. After some initial confusion about who would handle the initial diagnosis, Bob himself came out to properly diagnose and supervise the first treatment of our lawn. We've only had one treatment thus far so I cannot report yet on how effective it's been but Bob was good at managing our expectations. Based on this first appointment, he seems very reliable, competent and serious about his business. He knows his stuff or so it appears. I must emphasize that, as the owner, he was very responsive and reachable. We hope to have a long term relationship with this company.

We called Bob's Bugs to assess termite evidence in our garage. Bob himself came by and gave us a lesson about termites and what could and should be done. I also asked him about his other services. No charge that day. He came back on schedule with an assistant to spot treat the termites, and we're all hoping it holds them off for a few more years. (It's just been three years since we tented the house.) He recommends lawn and garden pest control and fertilization services twice a year. He also recommends house perimeter treatment, as we do not want an inside pest control service. He provides his services when we call, not on a scheduled contract basis. And we will call him when we are ready. We came away far more knowledgeable about our South Florida environment.

We recently got treatment for palmetto bugs crawling up from our crawl space into our laundry room. Bob came in for an inspection and gave us great advice on how to close off the open holes inexpensively. He was so thorough and made sure we didn't have our bug problem reoccur. He's very honest and really knows his profession well. The guys who came to spray boric acid were on time, friendly and it only cost us $50. All my future pest control or termite treatment will be going to Bob's bugs. They deserve an A+++!

Well we hired Bob's Bugs based on their reputation on Angie's List and things went well for about one year. My wife called for treatment this month and an appointment was made, she took off of work to make herself available and with less then 24 hours notice an associate from Bob's Bugs left a voicemail cancelling the original appointment and telling us that they would be there on Monday at 3:30pm. Not, "we're very sorry or how can we make this convenient for you". The associate was rude and inconsiderate, it was not our fault that they cancelled last minute in a very unprofessional manner. My wife then called and left a message stating that she found the manner with which this situation was dealt was rude and unprofessional and that she was not interested in the appointment they made for us without speaking with us. Do you think we've even received a phone call appologizing for their mistake?? Needless to say I am extremely dissapointed that our professional relationship has ended this way but how you treat people is extremely important and I will not tolerate anyone speaking to my family in that way.

As a business owner, an outside perspective is crucial to understanding how the company is performing and how our customers feel about us. Most of the comments have been very positive. That means that we are doing a good job. On occasion, we have received sharp criticisms when things don’t go as planned. One of these bad reviews is as powerful as ten glowing reviews…for two reasons. The first reason is that it allows current and potential customers that we are human and make mistakes. The second, and most important reason, is that it shows us where we need to improve, and gives us the opportunity to grow as individuals and as a company. The reason that we cancelled your appointment on short notice was because the technician that was scheduled to spray your home had a family emergency. His father in law was rushed to the hospital and he had to take his wife to Central Florida in order to be with him. This was an unforeseen event and we did the best that we could to move all of his appointments to the next work day as all our other techs were booked. It was a bit hectic and our secretary was scrambling trying to make phone calls and reschedule appointments while trying to assist our own employee with his emergency. I sincerely apologize that you were spoken to harshly and I have to admit that I panicked a little with all the scrambling. I am sorry. The lesson I learned here is that no matter what the situation…sometimes it is important to take a step back and gather your thoughts before moving forward with a plan. At the very least it will allow us to act calmly and professionally. I have called you a few times and left you a couple of voicemails in order to speak with you. They guaranteed it for three months, and if you see a bug, they'll come right out. I've used them for three years, and they've been nothing but outstanding. I even have an ongoing friendship with one of the technicians that comes to my house. I have nothing but good things to say about them. One of them is that we try to build relationships with our customers. Having a familiar face provide a service over the years is reminiscent of the ways people used to do business back when things were less complicated. We keep up with the latest technologies, we have our website, email, laser guided mouse traps (just kidding). The truth is, none of that matters if you don't have a relationship with your customers. It's a cold world and personal relationships are replaced with emails and text messages. We have concierge service with Bob's Bugs. Beyond our regular service, Bob has been working with our property for months restoring it to what is used to be after many shabby companies work (he charges accordingly). And we are beginning to see results. We had an invasion of about three hundred bees not long ago. They were here within an hour with a bee suit and rid us of the problem, No fuss no mess. Bob's Bugs is not stingy with the products used and that's why we can see the difference. Our lawn and trees look like they are taken care of. They arrive on time, are courteous and look like people you would have in your house. I can always get directly to Bob and if I need to leave a message, he returns it promptly. It was good. The last spray was a week ago. They were okay. The people were very nice. They were friendly and helpful. We have had mosquito problems since then. I hate mosquito's. We have to continue spraying.The price was a very good deal. The quality of their work was good. I don't know if the quality of their product was the right one. I will have to talk to them about the product they are using as it had little effect.

A few things to consider about mosquitoes...They are drawn to water. Any source of standing water is a potential breeding ground for mosquitoes...and there is a lot of standing water in Cutler Bay. there are many areas that tend to flood after a good rain, and the close proximity to mangroves, tidal pools, wooded areas, canals, and lakes all make Cutler Bay a haven for mosquitoes. That's not to say that the treatment won't work...it just won't be as effective for as long compared to an area that isn't as open as Cutler Bay is. Unfortunately mosquitoes have something that makes them very difficult to control...wings. They get around quickly and can get blown around by the wind. There are a few things you can do to minimize the impact of mosquitoes in your yard. Make sure you empty any containers that have standing water in them. Place natural mosquito repellent plants in your yard...Citronella, horsemint, catnip, and marigolds are natural repellents and will help keep them out of your yard. I hope that the treatment helped you enjoy your yard a little more and hopefully this information will help you maintain a more enjoyable environment by incorporating some natural repellents and removing the potential source for breeding. This was a follow-up call to ensure all the bugs (ants, in this case) were not 'regrouping' for another assault on my home. Bob and his team just zapped the little varmints which I'm sure will keep them inactive for months to come. What I really like about Bob Bugs, Inc. is that there is no contract to sign. They come out when you call them and if they need to come out a second time (in this case), they do, free of charge. Good leadership, a good team (thanks Ms Karla for being a great dispatcher) and state of the art pest control makes this company the best in southeast Florida. I'm happy with with their added-value. Bob went out to inspect for termites. I explained I had seen wings a while back and thought I needed to check it. I was given a brief explanation about the different termites and the different seasons when they come around. This was important and I was not clear on when exactly the winged creatures came. He went around looking for evidence, opened my attic and looked around. We were able to find one part of a formosa termite which indicated subterranean termite...and since there was no damage visible, or more wings...he suggested we wait. Gave me options and pricing. I now know to keep a specimen of what's flying around as it makes a big difference what to look and treat for in the future. He was very very helpful and knowledgeable. He also gave me advice on lawn service. This is the second time I call him, and I know eventually we will do business.

Bob taught us a lot about termites, what to look for and told us when to call him in the future. He found a couple of areas around our house and recommended repairs to keep us free of pests. Great service! Bob Failde, President, came over for the free inspection. No live activity was detected and he spot treated (injected chemical foam & closed the existing holes) free of charge. No treatment was deemed necessary by him except for couple recommendations on the outside of the house to try to keep the house termite free. As honest a business I've ever dealt with! We already had Terminex, Orkin, and three other local companies come over for an inspection. Terminex gave us an estimate of $5K. Showed me scary pictures of attics in the surrounding area destroyed by termites & pulled out wings from my attic that no one else found. Orkin had a lower estimate but still recommended immediate treatment. Critter Control & Rick Ricker recommended preventative treatment for the future and possible live activity. Termite Doctor recommended immediate tenting. I really appreciate the complete honesty and the time he took to explain every question / concern I had. Five star service!

The reasoning is that most service companies usually have an advantage over their customers...knowledge. By having the upper hand in knowledge, they can convince customers that they "need" certain services just to help line their own pockets. The service I got from Bob's Bugs was okay. They came out each week, three times in a row. It had a mild effect on the mosquitoes. The first time they sprayed it was pretty good, but then after that, it didn't seem like it had more than a mild to moderate effect on the mosquitoes.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Big Deal to get three mosquito treatments. I just paid the original amount of the Big Deal. There were no extra charges.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Angie's List members. Mosquitoes are a pain in the neck (specially if they bite you in the neck). A lot of things come into play when dealing with mosquitoes...weather, wind, location, temperature, etc. Some plant collect water and create little pools that are a breeding ground for mosquitoes. If you live further west, they come in from the everglades. If the wind is still, they will swarm around a source of food. All in all, we do our best to try and make the situation more bearable. Because flying insects can travel farther and faster than other bugs can crawl...they can invide your space relatively quickly...sometimes the wind will bring them right in. There are a few things that homeowners can do to make our treatments more effective. The single most important thing is to make sure there is no standing water in the yard. Replace the water in bird baths often, flip over pet bowls or planters when not in use, and clean gutters to keep the water flowing freely. It was a three consecutive deal. One week apart. First week went fine, was on time, gave the front and back Yard a good treatment. The following week they did not show as scheduled, came on a different day, unexpected? Backyard gate was locked, they had to return on another day to complete 2nd week. Called them several times Many of which the phone message was. "The mailbox is full we can't accept any more calls". We had confirmed Appointment for 8:30 last fri for our third and last treatment, guess what? They didn't show have not heard from Them since. We never received the third treatment.....My feeling that the deal was so good they couldn't keep Up with it, just a guess

If you read some of our responses to other reviews, you can see that this is something we try to do with all of our customers. As in any relationship, sometimes things don't go as planned. You mentioned that you believed the response to our "Big Deal" was a little overwhelming...I think surprising is a more fitting description. We didn't anticipate the response, but were prepared to handle all of the services that were offered. During the week you referenced in your review, we were closed on Monday, in order for our employees to focus on their children's first day of school, and we also had a continuing education session that Wednesday. It was our mistake to commit ourselves to a very limited work week while trying to keep up with all of our appointments. We managed to get throw the week with very few complaints...but very few is still too many for us. In order to remedy your situation and salvage our relationship, we will send our guys out and re-do all three treatments. We will make sure you get what you paid for and prove that your satisfaction is our number one priority. We appologize for the trouble and hope that you can look past this small incident and consider us the next time you need a pest control professional. one last note...we are looking in to improving our phone system in order to better serve all our customers. Everything went well: the employee was punctual to the minute, the employee thoroughly listened to our concerns and performed the work requested. We have been battling ants for 10 months that our prior service could not eradicate. We have seen just a few ants since Bob's Bugs. We think they've solved the problem!

the next time you are cooking up burgers on the grill and aren't getting bit by mosquitos...please remember us. If they are biting...please visit with your neighbors and give them our number...as the problem is surely coming from their yard... ok...just kidding. Mosquitos are difficult to control because of how quickly they reproduce. Our mosquito treatments are usually good for about a week...but you can maximize the effectivness by doing a few things yourself. Remember that during the rainy months, it is important to make sure that there is no standing water in your yard. that is where they breed. Clean out gutters, replace water in bird baths and dog water bowls frequently, and make sure there are no containers filled with water around the yard. These steps will help our treatments go further and help you keep your sanity. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to serve you and we look forward to serving you again in the future.
