They were here on 2 separate days but the second day was just a few hours. I got all my questions answered and I am very happy with the results. I can highly recommend Mr. Big John, Inc.

+ -1 moreThey did a wonderful job. The crew as well as the owner were all excellent. They went above and beyond what was called for. They found a bad wood that I had no idea that was bad wood, they searched for it and not just looked at the obvious and replace it, and they replaces them all. These guys are great. We just had our roof replaced about 6 months ago but it didn't last and I can't even compare them.
Description of Work: I used Big John Roofing for a complete re-roof of our home.

+ -1 moreI called Big John to get an estimate to replace my gazebo roof. He came out the next day and gave me an estimate of $900, which was half the estimate from another roofing company. The only drawback was he said his estimate could not be lowered by an Angie's List coupon from his company. There was no wait time to schedule the job. John's crew arrived on time, did an excellent job, and cleaned up the yard when finished. Job price matched the estimate and everyone from John on down where very easy to talk to. I highly recommend Big John for all roofing jobs.
Description of Work: I have a gazebo in my backyard whose shingle roof had disintegrated and needed to be replaced.

+ -1 moreThis was a great experience. Everything went very well. It took 5 working days. They were always on time and scheduling easy. The pricing was reasonable as well. They honored the first price they gave in June 2012. They worked very hard. They stopped for 30 minutes for lunch, then went right back to work. The owner is very personable and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreJohn and his crew were very efficient and did a great job on our two roof fixes. John is very flexible and accommodating. He even did touch up work (molding and wood panels) to the interior of a porch which was damaged by one of the leaks. It looks great. He comes often to check up on his crews and is always helping out. A personable contractor that we recommend highly.
Description of Work: John fixed two leaks in our roof. One was on a flat roof and the other on our shingled roof.

Description of Work: The whole experience was great. We got bids from 2 Angie's List companies. The other company had many great reviews also, and was also very professional. The prices both companies bid were very close. It was a difficult choice. Big John showed up when he said he would, was respectful, professional. We hired him to do work on our flat roof, and we have been very happy with what they did. They ripped off the old flat roof material approx 2400 sq/ft, replaced all the bad wood, put in new supports & decking and flashing, and covered it all with roofing material and sealant. The crew showed up at 7 am, and John showed up right after them. The crew worked like crazy until about 6 pm for two days, at which time they were completely finished! They were quiet while they were working--just working, not talking, they didn't even take breaks. I think they only stopped once for about 20 minutes for lunch. The work seemed to be good, they cleaned up thoroughly, we paid him and that was it! Easy, quick, quality work. I wish every contractor operated this way.

+ -1 moreWe had several companies give us estimates on the job. John's evaluation of the problem was very clear. It was the most precise and economical of the four estimates we received. The work crew was professional and efficient, They worked well as a team. I was on the roof when they opened it. They showed me what the problem was and how it would be fixed. They worked quickly but with noticiable precision. They took time to seal the area afterwards, and cleaned up the job site completely - including on the ground. We have had heavy rains since and there is no sign of a leak.
Description of Work: Repaired leak. Repairs consisted of removing tiles and roofing cover as well as a section of the plywood. The plywood and roofing cover were replaced and the tiles reinstalled.

The services were completed as promised and the pricing was fair. The thoroughness of the clean up was exceptional and they were very accommodating with our special requests.
Description of Work: Back in 2001 we had to replace the original, mostly tile, roof (gable and flat) on our 1948 house. There were sections of the roof with rotted wood and we also wanted to incorporate some decorative details with the new roof.
