Initially the bid came in higher than other companies, but we decided to go with them because of their professionalism and knowledge of the area. After the work was complete, I was so happy with our choice. They worked quickly with great communication. I would definitely recommend and will use them for future jobs.

I didn't happen to handle this one, my husband was here when he came. It was his sink, and he handled it. Usually for me if someone has been responsive, calls me back to begin with. If I feel like they have been fair in their work, and cleaned up after them self and everything.. I had people who appear, they show up and come upstairs to the eighteenth floor and look around. They go back downstairs and get whatever equipment they need, and then come back upstairs. This all gets added to my bill. If a plumber is there to snake a sink, they know what they need, so they don't waste extra time. I think they are fine. Like I say, we used them before, and it was good, otherwise we would not call them back.

DO NOT USE!!!!!! I used these guys based on recommendations by neighbors and I am disgusted! They came to fix two leaky toilets which they could not fix because they did not have the parts at the cost of $232. One of the toilets was a standard American signature which is a cheap toilet. Alex the plumber recommended I spend over $200 in parts for a toilet that costs basically the same thing. I had to leave to pick up my son from school and my nanny told me the guy was just killing time (they charge per hour) no matter if they fix anything. I called the company to complain and I never got a call from the manager. I still have two leaky toilets.

I had two guys out here most of the day. One of the plumbers was Vincent and he was excellent.
Description of Work: I used Bay Plumbing Co. to dig up the leak and cemented it. They also pumped out the tank for me. I had a sink hole at the back end on the septic tank where it drains out. I had a leak that was creating the sink hole.

I have used them for 30 years. The plumber who came out was Albert, he has been here before. He did a wonderful job. It was a little tricky with the spicket and pipe that had an electrical ground and he was able to gently remove it. They did a great job. The price was fair. They gave me a 10% discount for being a regular customer.

We recently bought a home and came in to do some cleaning to discover water all over the kitchen floor and a leak in the copper pipe going into the hot water heater. We're new to the neighborhood so used this service to find a well rated plumber with emergency service (it was a Saturday afternoon). Angel answered quickly, explained that he had two other calls ahead of us, and estimated that he would be there at 5 (we called around 2:30). And indeed he showed up on time (a bit early). He quickly replaced the copper pipe (after explaining that the previous owner had done 'mickey mouse' repairs to the pipe - just tried to solder it shut) and was finished within an hour. He was professional, worked quickly and carefully, and showed us what he had fixed (and in fact discovered another problem with how the on-demand heater had been installed - and fixed that too). He clearly explained the rates (which, of course, are higher outside of normal working hours). It wasn't the cheapest but he got the job done and we felt very positive about his work.

The plumber arrived right on time and tried to dislodge the clog from the stack first. When that didn't work he came in and got at it through the sink. I have been using Bay Plumbing for many years. They are professional and courteous but most importantly they get the job done at a reasonable price without fail. They work 9-5 but have someone to make calls during off hours at a premium price.

I hired another plumber the following week who suggested he would start by replacing the main line pipe because it had a a crack in it. As soon as he pulled the pie he determined that the clog was caused by a grease build up over years. Also you can see that no snake went through that section of pipe. I spoke to the owner who said there was no guarantee that when they snaked the pipes it would clear it.
Description of Work: Attempted to clear clog in drain. The receipt claims he snaked to the septic tank. NOT SO!!!!!

I have always used Bay Plumbing to pump out my septic tank. A very nice and efficient man named Vincent oversees this operation and it always goes well. But I have not used Bay - until now - for regular plumbing jobs. On the afternoon of April 24, a team of landscapers were working in my back yard. Suddenly, when they were digging in a large plant bed, there was a huge amount of water coming out. From recent high water bills, I knew I had a leak somewhere, but did not want to pay a fortune for someone to find it. The landscapers did not know how to turn off the water - fortunately, I had a T handle in my garage, which someone had told me to obtain when I first bought my house. So, the water got turned off. Then I went inside and called Bay, because they are the closest plumber to my house. A nice lady answered the phone and said she would see who was available and would call me back. She did call, within 20 minutes. In another 20 minutes, 2 plumbers showed up at my house (one of them was named Angel), and in another hour, the pipe was repaired. (Tree roots had been wrapped around it and had caused the leak.) The bill - for 2 plumbers for an hour - was $197. Amazing. i will now use Bay for all my plumbing needs.

After getting reference from Angie's List, I was told they come within an hour. However, was informed on at least two occassions that the plumber was busy with the preceding job and would come. Eventually, plumber came. Would be better if they promise a time that they can deliver. Foir instance, I would even prefer the next day instead of a promise of within an hour that ended being much longer than I expected as it ruins one's day. My review is actually for A to Z Statewide Plumbing (1 800 930 1123). I am not sure that is the same company as Bay Plumbing Company. I also thought that the charge was high considering work done (and time spent doing it). Didn't think it was value for money. Will wait to see if they will come back. By the way , I was told that they would waive $89 consultaion fee due Angie's list reference. But not sure that it was actually done since the plumber came and then told me the job would be $264. I was happy though with the response as they came on the same day I made the request inspite of the delay. The plumber who came was polite. He informed me that if the machine faied to do the job he would get another machine. I was actually expecting him to do that but he didn't. I hope they do come back if I call. Iverall the experience was Ok. No major problems.
Description of Work: The job was a blocked drainage (poor water flow from the bath tub). The plumber made an attempt to clear it. Water flowed better and was told that was the fastest it could flow. I wasn't entirely sure it cannot flow any faster. We agreed I would call if not very happy and plumber would come back.

We called on Friday for help with a leaking outdoor faucet. They gave us an appointment for late on Monday. Monday morning they called early - there had been a cancellation and they could send someone out immediately. Alex arrived quickly, The faucet is in a tricky location but he was able to remove and replace it and even re-stucco the wall in about an hour and a half. He was very professional and courteous We will be using only Bay Plumbing in the future.

I was very happy with their work. I called them around 1 PM about the leak, and someone was there within the hour. The leaking water main was a fairly big job, requiring the plumber to break through asphalt and dig a trench almost two feet down to find and repair the leak. He called in an assistant and between the two of them, they had the job done in about 4 hours. They explained the dangers of repairing vs. replacing the pipe, did the job I asked, and did a great job of repairing the hole they'd dug and replacing the blacktop. Both plumbers were very professional and experienced. Although they had worked until 6PM, he gave me a break on the price by not charging me overtime and a 10% discount to boot. I thought I'd be spending $500+ dollars, but it ended up costing around $350. Definitely reccomend.

The person at Bay Plumbing who took my initial call was very courteous and helpful. He said their hourly charge was $93.90. When I asked if they charged for travel time, he said they charged for travel to my appointment. I made an appointment for 3 days later between 10:00 and 12:00 so the person he said was their best at finding hidden leaks, Albert, would be available. When 12:00 came and there had been no call, I called their office. They called Albert and called me back to say he was on the way. He arrived within minutes and the start time he noted on their invoice was 12:04. He looked at the water meter, and explained how to tell if it was registering any water use, which it was even though nothing was turned on. He then looked at the inside water outlets and found no dripping or running water. He then started to check outside, beginning with pipes running into a detached garage effeciency, and as I followed him I stepped on an area where there was some water collected in the grass. This was not noticeable unless you happened to step on it and I had not noticed it before. I pointed it out to him. He finished examining some surface pipes on the outside of the effeciency and I suggested that maybe the collected water might indicate a problem. He checked it, dug up the area, and found a galvanized pipe about 5 inches down with a small hole which he patched with a repair clamp. He suggested taking apicture for the Water & Sewer Dept. before he filled in the hole, and too 3 photos with his camera when I told him mine wasn't working, which he said he'd email to me. So far all seemed well, especially since I found the leak myself by accident. He was back in his truck writing up the invoice before 1:05 and brought me the bill by 1:10. The total was $170.80 with $140.00 for his service. At $93.90/hour I questioned the total. He said after the first hour, they charge for every 1/2 hour even though he was in his truck writing my bill no later than an hour after he clocked in. The repair clamp was $18.95 and there was an $8.00 charge for "shop supplies" although the only implement he used was the repair clamp itself and a shovel to dig up the pipe - maybe it included the $2:00 he then said they charged to email me the pictures. There was also a $3.00 fuel charge which apparantly is in addition to travel time to the appointment. Most telling was the time on the invoice he said he clocked out 1:25 which was 15 minutes later after he handed me the bill. Even though I was mostly satisfied with the work itself, and very grateful I had found the leak myself while following him around, I felt this company nickle'd and dime'd me into a higher bill and charged me for more time than was spent. I was so focused on the charges I forgot to ask about the 10% senior discount Angie's List says they give!
Description of Work: Bay Plumbing sent Albert to look for a hidden leak in my plumbing that had caused my water bill to triple. When the leak was found in a galvanized pipe running to the house it was patched with a repair clamp, which stopped the leak.

Estimate given was fair to high, but the quality of the work was amazing. No nickel and diming on small stuff - the pipe replacement was comprehensive and they made sure fittings going up into the house joined well or were replaced. Price for work in addition to what was on the estimate was fair. They were punctual and professional. Our only inconvenience was that the workmen didn't have a cell phone so they had to radio the office every time they needed to communicate something to us - a manageable problem. I would highly recommend this very professional company.

Overall, I was pleased with their work. They were very good & very pleasant. They kept the place clean and cleaned up well after themselves. My old toilet was leaking and they discovered it needed to be replaced. They replaced my old flush toilet with a new, non-silent flush one. It would have been nice to know before the work was done, the new toilet would be non-silent but, I was still pleased their work overall.
