Perfect!! The installer replaced the glass that was scratched and it looks beautiful. Installer was very nice and very professional. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: ASP installed hurricane resistant windows a couple of months ago. When we told them that one had a deep scratch in it, they ordered a new glass and promised to install it. We were on vacation for about a month and they came to replace the glass a few days after we returned.

First and foremost, the communication was outstanding. If they did not answer on the first phone call, you simply left a message and a return call would follow immediately. The products that were delivered and installed matched the quality of the products that were shown to us during the initial presentation. Installation was very well organized. The installers were friendly and easy to work with. ASP was very flexible with our schedule. As with all construction, minor issues that surfaced were dealt with quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend this provider.
Description of Work: Provider removed all existing windows, doors and garage door. Provider then installed all new hurricane windows and doors to include garage door as well.

Difficult to get a call back. When we finally got an appointment, the person called to say he wanted to come in early. My husband made a special effort to arrive home early. However, the tech. then called to say he had a flat tire. He asked if he could come by the next day at the same time. We said ok, but the tech. did not show. I called him several times on his cell but he did not pick up. This company either does not need the business or they are very unprofessional.

Jonathan Rodriguez (owner) and all of his team are outstanding! They just finished the installation at our home and my husband and I are both totally satisfied with the superior quality of the installation and the window manufacturer (CWS). We chose a combination of casement impact and non impact windows. From the beginning Jonathan provided a very detailed presentation of all the window options and different manufacturers. What he thought would be the best type of window for our lifestyle was spot on. I am extremely happy with the window style and it has given our home (inside and outside) a wonderful updated look. ASP had the windows delivered and was ready to do the installation a couple of weeks AHEAD of schedule. Every request that was asked of ASP; experienced crews (2), no subcontractors, no day laborers, no employees in training, top quality and timely installation, permitted work with passing final inspection, any concerns before during and after, have all been taken care of. Jonathan and Chris even brought two representatives from CWS to our home yesterday to view the installation. The ASP installation crews that worked at our home are respectful of the home and surroundings, and to us and our family. Everyone from ASP was detailed oriented through the entire process, the cleanup by both crews superseded my expectations. The actual installation of all windows was complete on the first day, which was a wonderful surprise. The side garage door and window cleanup and detailing was completed on the second day, inspection passed on third day. This installation went BETTER than expected, which doesn't happen too often, if ever. As a note: being a Hurricane Andrew survivor (in the same home as this installation) has made our family even more discerning customers over the years. I do not take or make a recommendation lightly; our experience with ASP has been top notch and truly a pleasure! Now, we are in the process of a proposal to replace two sets of French doors for we now know the quality of the work, product and customer care that ASP provides first hand.

I had major work completed by ASP. They were great from start to finish. My sales rep Marcos was knowledgeable and good about answering questions and concerns. Jonathon the owner of the company was incredible! He personally made sure that the work was done to my standards, which are very high. I will use this company to convert my home to solar in the future.

Starting with the initial estimate to the final installation I have never been more satisfied with a company contracted to do repairs / renovations on my house. Marcos was my representative. He educated me well about the type of product and company I was dealing with. He really gave me peace of mind and I knew I was choosing the right company. Jonathan then came out to take care of the production measurements. After a few weeks, the product was delivered on time as promised. Every window and door fit perfectly during installation. I requested a weekend installation to avoid missing work and surprisingly, all of the windows and doors were installed between Saturday and Sunday. All that was left was a third day for the plaster work which was done the following day while I was at work. Everything was left paint ready inside and out as requested. The head installer Michel and his crew were just absolutely amazing. They answer / return phones calls and go above solving any issues you may have. What really puts the icing on the cake is how Jonathan came out to check the work. For the owner of a company to visit the job site on a Sunday really shows how much they care. He has a great organization that delivers what is promised. If you need storm protection for your house, this is the place. On a rating of 0 to 10, ASP gets a 12

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU EVER NEED FOLLOWUP REPAIRS! I called American Storm Protection about an impact window that was cracked and asked if they could replace it and also check an accordian shutter that was sticking....this was on a Tuesday. I explained I was in the process of selling my house and needed the repairs done ASAP. Did not receive a response. I called again the following day and was told Chris, their sales person would have to come and measure, also that it would be a special order , I said that was fine. Again no response. I called two days later and was told they were extremely busy with a home show. I waited until Monday and called again..They were busy taking down the home show , but someone would call the next day. (no call) After an irate call from my husband the following afternoon he was told that Chris would call him right back. The next evening at 8:25 pm Chris finally called and told my husband they don't do that kind of work anymore. He would email us the name of the company who would. The next day I called another company on Angie's List . They were surprised that the original company would not come out for the repairs and gave me a number for Davie Glass, which is closer to our home. They made an appointment immediately for us , first available was in a week. They will be here this morning. We wasted over two weeks because we were trying to work with our original company. By the way we finally got an email from Chris with the name of another company yesterday - a week later!

Dear Member, We'd like to apologize for this misunderstanding. I was in front of Chris when you called and he explained to you that glass replacements is not something we regularly do. We only get physically involved if a stress crack is formed during your warranty period. Your glass was cracked by a golf ball five years later after we did your project. Chris explained that the moment you called, we were extremely tied up. All of my installers were on projects and my sales team were involved with the home show. I am sorry but I do not have my installers hop from one job to another and I do not have an employee running around replacing glass. So we suggested using a local glass company that is dedicated to glass repairs. We explained how it would be more cost effective and done much quicker for you. Your husband asked Chris if we knew of anyone and yes Chris emailed your husband with a few companies names. He did not forget about you. He did his best to attend to your need. It brings me sadness to read this from a customer I had 5 years ago. Especially a My Safe Florida Homes Grant Program customer who benefited from the program with the services I provided. All under the time constraint requirement as well as providing the proper documentation to MSFH to assure your grant money for your project. You failed to mention any good we did by you. We didn't deserve that. But I do thank you for feedback.

We didn't use American Storm Protection Corp because their bid was a little high. They came out and they were very nice. They came on time and they were fine. It was just the price and their product. They didn't have the product that we wanted. Their product seemed to be pretty good but we decided to go with another product.

It went well, for the most part. It took much longer than initially proposed by the company to get the permits and have the doors manufactured. As a result, we pushed our install date out quite a bit. Now that everything is done, I can say that I am quite happy with the results. The doors themselves are very high quality - much better than the existing impact doors installed by the previous owner. ASP did an excellent job installing them and I am very happy with the final result. I would use them again.

The actual installation was easier than I expected - considering they ripped every door and window out. I'm afraid the job was bit difficult, since the window frames were steel and covered with years of stucco. I still can't believe how careful the crew was. They picked up broken glass and stucco outside and even cleaned the top layer of concrete dust from the work area. They even cleaned years of grime off the old cuban tile window sills before reinstallation! Quite honestly, I assumed the old sills would be broken apart in the process and would have to be replaced. -- that was not the case. They even re-hung the 2 blinds they had to remove. I'd call that above and beyond the call of duty for sure. Best of all, they were a pleasure to deal with.
Description of Work: Our house was built in 1938 and is located in a designated Historic District. All of the windows and doors were original. We replaced all exterior windoos and doors with hurricane/impact resistant door/windows. After obtaining another estimate, we signed a contract with American Storm Protection Corp. ("ASP") based on the incredibly professional presentation that President Jonathan Rodriuguez gave. He arrived at our house with samples, a estimated floor plan diagram, and his iPad and spent a few hours discussing our needs, likes and dislikes and giving suggestions about what would work in our home. Of course, "project creep" came into play and we later chose to expand our initial contract to include every window. Jonathan and his team were helpful every step of the way and never complained about the changes! I was particularly impressed (and grateful) with Jonathan's assistance in dealing with the Historicle Board. He arrived for the director's initial inspection of our home, supported our decisions to update (and secure) the house and proposed changes which the Historical Board would approve (since they simply don't make windows today like they did in 1938). He was instrumental in reaching an agreement with the Historicle Board that day and satisfying its requirements Without the need to appear at a public hearing! The new windows and doors look beautiful and the house still has that period charm. Definately a win win for everyone.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Yes there are times when we are extremely busy taking care of valued clients like yourself, however, not following up and not returning a quote by our salesman is entirely unacceptable. Although we never want or aim for negative reviews, we are happy for the opportunity to correct this situation and show you that your business is very important to us and we will do all we can to meet your needs for your upcoming home remodel. Since posting your review, I understand that you were contacted by our operations manager, Mr. Pouridas and he spoke with you about your overall experience. He then scheduled an appointment with the owner of the company at your home which is scheduled for this Saturday. I am confident that all your needs will be met and you will be very happy with the attention you will receive. Again, I want to thank you for the opportunity to still earn your business. Whether you decide to go with us or with another company, I look forward to reading your follow up review. Thanks again, for your comments. We will not let you down again.

I dealt with Michael and he was very prompt and professional. He came and measured my windows and I got a written extimate within the week. I signed the contract and paid the initial installment which was very reasonable compared to other companies. After the permit went through, I paid the second installement and then waited for the windows. Unfortunately, this was the beginning of hurricaine season so I had to wait almost 7-8 weeks for the work to be done. But, the work was finished in one day, and the 2 installers were professional and cleaned up well. I'd also like to mention that when the appointment was made for the installation, there were no date changes or setbacks. I had to take time off of work that day and I was happy that everything worked out great. The windows not only look great, but have cut down on the traffic noise, since I live on a busy street. ASP is a smaller family owned company and it is worth every penny. They do care about the quailty of their work. I am happy that I chose them.

Jon and Mike did a great job on my home and rental unit. I had priced out impact windows at various companies and Jon and Mike undercut all of them. As a matter of fact they undercut BJ's Wholesale's sub-contractor by half for the same pvc windows with the double pane and argon gas!!!! The price was right and I was overjoyed to not sacrifice quality. The installation crew was polite, professional, and puctual. I was concerned that they would make a mess ( I was concerned about dust and my baby) but they left everything better than they found it. the windows are spectacular. They make us feel safe and they aren't a fire hazard. My rental unit experience was the same. I got a great price on three impact windows for the front and accordian shutters for the remainder of the unit. They installation was quick and painless all completed on the same day. The crew was there on the promised day & on time which was very important when coordinating with tenants. I have no reservations reccomending ASP to anyone.

Harry called the next day to confirm, and asked if he could come out a little bit earlier ? that was absolutely fine. He showed up on time, and we discussed what I wanted. Two steel 6 panel steel hurricane rated doors (front and back) as well as the style of living room and bedroom windows. He measured them, and then said ?I can do it for about $5500.00 I was a little bit surprised by this approach. With the other quotes I had received, the rep had spec sheets for the windows with pictures and color options; he presented me with none of this. I asked him to email me a written quote which I received the next day in the amount of $5696.00 plus the actual cost of the permits. The written quote was for the exact same window manufacturer (TM Florida?s Best) as the other 2 quotes I had received. However, ASP?s price was considerably higher - $1400.00 more than the company I ended up selecting.
Description of Work: I called ASP for a quote on 2 exterior doors, large main living room window and 2 bedroom windows. They scheduled a time for the rep to come out the next day, and then sent me an email confirmation for the appointment. Very professional!

After replacing all of our windows, the inspection revealed that we needed to also replace a door in our kitchen. I reached out for several estimates, but ASP came back as the most responsive and reasonably priced. When it came time for installation, the guy arrived with the wrong size door, but not to worry, he was able to find a smaller one and came back within 45 minutes. The construction was amazing. He diligently widened our door frame just an inch (it's an old house and everything is not quite standard size). He installed the door, replaced the trim, picked up after himself and was gone within a few hours. I was beyond impressed with the quality of work. After having a rough time with our window contractor, it was such a relief to find good service and quality work in Miami.

Overall, Mike and his guys did a good job. There were a few hiccups along the way but it was nothing that couldn't get fixed. At the end my wife and I were very satisfied with the look of the doors. We love them.
Description of Work: ASP replaced our entry doors and window (transom) with beautiful white impact doors and transom window. After permits were pulled, demo began about two to three weeks later (as scheduled). They took down our old doors and transom. Once that was done, they installed the new doors. Up next was the top transom window. But I noticed that it was the wrong size (too big). Apparently, the manufacturer got the wrong measurements. So they took it back to get it cut the same day but in doing so, part of the window got cracked. At this point, it was already late in the afternoon. One option was to cover the gaping whole with plywood until the new replacement transom arrived. Seeing that we were going out of town for a week, this didn't sit well with me. So they put in the cracked transom window to cover the opening until the new window arrived. When we got back into town I called Mike to schedule a time to replace the transom window. The guys showed up a few days later (as scheduled) and replaced it. A week later we had one of their painters come and paint the doors. We loved the paint job he did. The doors looked great.

We chose ASP Windows and Doors for our recent home remodeling project. The project consisted new windows and a front door entry foor for our home. The reason we chose this company was for there superior product knowledge, reputation, and there large selection of front entry options. This company strives to provide superior service and products and it shows. The process was easy. Once we decided on what product was right for our home. ASP took care of the rest. We were always informed of what the status was in the process and they were very accurate in the schedule they gave us. There were no surprises. We are very happy with our new windows and we love our new front door. We highly recommend ASP Windows and Doors and we would surely use them again in the future

I encourage any one with a window issue to immediately contact Jonathan Rodriguez at ASP. The reasons to do so are endless but I will try and enumerate a few of them here. (1) This is a truly family owned and operated business. I had the opportunity of not only meeting Jonathan's lovely wife, but also his mother and father as they all play critical roles in the business. (2) They have an office location. Please do not underestimate the importance of this key fact. There are many individuals or entities that allege that they can perform competent labor for less money. When dealing with those individuals--which I counsel against doing--bear in mind the massive amounts of fraud permeating through Miami. My friend had an issue many years ago where an individual, advertising through a local professional sports team no less, came to his home, gave him a quote, and took his deposit, never to be seen again. This would never happen with Jonathan as he is a man of integrity and loyalty. However, if you are a natural skeptic, like myself, ASP has an office and warehouse conveniently located in Doral, FL. In other words, you will always know where to find Jonathan and ASP. (3) Jonathan is licensed by the State of Florida (see above on avoiding fraud) and can help you take out permits, and close permits if needed in your jurisdiction; (4) Punctuality. In Miami there is a running joke about "Cuban time" or "Latin Time." Delays in all walks of life are customary in our neck of the woods. Call me old fashioned, but I greatly appreciated the timeliness aspect of their labor. (5) Economics. As homeowners we are entitled to a reduction or credit for having these superior windows. However, there are other unrealized economic benefits. Every year at the time of renewal our homeowners insurance sends us a notice explaining that our premiums are escalating and coverages are declining. These impact windows are a great way to protect your home's interior and content. Another monetary benefit, as explained to me by Jonathan (and proven through a unusually hot summer) is the reduction in our electric bill. Keep in mind that these windows are energy efficient and are naturally cooling. Most importantly, my home appraised for nearly 20% more than it did one year earlier. (6) Beauty. These windows have added a conspicous element of elegance and affluence unrivaled in my neighborhood. (7) Noise Reduction. My home is located on a very busy thoroughfare in Miami-Dade County. Previously, my wife and I would hear traffic while watching television or sleeping. Now, the only noise interruption we notice are police sirens or ambulance sirens. (8) Safety. A well known principle of life is that when the economy plunges crime rises. Impact windows will provide you and your family much needed peace of mind, and security from unwanted intruders. (9) Entertainment. The windows, at least mine, seem to be tinted, this helps with energy efficiency, but it also helps when watching a day time sporting event or movie. Plasma T.V.'s like mine are affected by the glare of the sun diminishing the picture quality. ASP's windows help reduce the glare and provide for a much better atmosphere for entertainment. (10) Affordability. I received quotes from numerous competitors who charged more for inferior products despite having less experience and training then Jonathan and his talented team at ASP. I fully endorse and recommend Jonathan Rodriguez and his team at ASP for all of your window needs. It was a pleasure writing this review for someone who has done so much for my family, my wife and I. Thank you ASP!
Description of Work: The services that were performed are as follow below. Jonathan came to our home, counted our windows, measured the windows, and explained to us what would be best for our home. He was very knowledgeable about his products and the state of the art. He explained everything to my wife and I in layman's terms so that we could understand the capabilities of his wide range of products. His presentation included use of his I-Pad in order to demonstrate the strength and integrity of his products. At that point, we were sold. He took our deposit of half of the overall price, and provided us with an invoice showing receipt of payment. A few days later his assitant, Nathalie, who is also very competent in her role called us to schedule an appointment. On the date of commencement, Jonathan's team was punctual friendly, and multilingual. (The last quality is very beneficial to both the customer and American Storm Protection ("ASP") given the nature of our diverse population in South Florida). The team removed all of my old windows promptly. They installed the new windows efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. Before we realized it the project was complete.

I was very happy with Jonathan, he struck me as both personable and trustworthy, and was pleasant to deal with at the initial meeting. I was also very pleased with the installers, who were friendly, (mostly) neat, and did excellent work (even the city inspector commented on how good it was). However, like some other reviewers, I had a more mixed experience with office staff, and some small problems with communication related to that. My date of installation changed several times, at least once at the last minute. It wasn't too much of a problem for me because I am a teacher and have the summer off, however, it still makes scheduling other things difficult. It also took significantly longer than Jonathan had estimated. He said my job would be "rushed" because my old windows were unsafe (both in a storm and in terms of preventing someone from entering the house). As a single woman and a first-time homeowner, I really appreciated this. However, when I called a few weeks later to inquire about installation date, a member of the office staff said Jonathan would never have said it could be done in four weeks (he did) and that the windows hadn't been ordered yet--even though I had paid my deposit, permit was in hand, I had paid my second payment, etc. Part of the reason it was supposed to be done quickly was that the windows were all "stock" and didn't have to be manufactured to fit. They simply needed to be ordered and delivered from the manufacturer warehouse. My window installation ended up taking place several weeks after Jonathan had estimated. No one explained to me that the door installation would not take place at the same time, and it actually took a couple more weeks before the doors were installed. None of this was that big a problem for me, but I would have appreciated a bit more communication about what was happening and why. In at least one case they said they left a message for me which I never received, and one time when I called a member of the office staff was discourteous (I am not a difficult person in these situations, and I was not rude). It seems as though they are very busy and that (at least at the moment) things are a little disorganized there, with the right hand not always knowing what the left is doing. Because the school year had started, it became increasingly difficult to schedule an inspection, a problem I had hoped to avoid by getting the installation done before I went back to school (original installation was set for early-mid July, work took place early-mid August). However, Lourdes was lovely and helpful in finding a time to get the inspection done after the inspector didn't show up the first time. The work passed inspection with flying colors, the guy who did the finish work on the frames did an amazing job, and I am very happy with the new windows and doors, which are much more secure, look wonderful and keep the house significantly cooler. I would recommend ASP, however, if you are someone who will freak out if installation dates need to change or deadlines are not strictly met, this company may not be the right fit for you. Alternatively (and I would have done this if it weren't for the unsafe nature of my windows) I'd recommend having them do the work immediately after hurricane season, when I'd imagine the workload is lighter.
Description of Work: ASP replaced all of the windows and exterior doors in my house with high impact windows and doors--about 13 windows and three doors.

Jonathan and his brother came to our house to explain their products and service. It was a very informative meeting. Following the signing of the contract of replacing all windows and sliding doors, the work was done within scheduled time frame with good quality. Over the first year post installation, we experienced a number of leakage problems with heavy rain. ASP was subsequently contacted to resolve the situation. After a few rounds of effort, the problem was finally fixed. We are pleased with ASP's prompt response.

The two installers who came – Rigo & Michel – were very professional and efficient as were all the other workers. Two of their workers came in early and covered all the furniture in all the rooms. Installers came in and did their work efficiently. They cleaned after work was done in each room and furniture placed back in place. Only had minimal dust cleaning after work was done. All damaged plaster was repaired. Office personnel was very efficient and handled all the paperwork/billing efficiently. Very satisfied with their work and quality of material.
Description of Work: 5 windows and 2 sliding glass doors replaced. Replaced with impact windows/sliding glass doors. Old windows/sliders were removed and disposed of by the company. The new windows/sliders were delivered to the house they day before work began.

My new door meets county code for our Florida hurricanes and should never rot out like wood doors/frames, and the install passed inspection. The door is a storage room door that is accessible from the outside, backyard of my townhouse. The job was done very professionally. The owners and their staff were very responsive to my difficult work schedule and to my particular needs and questions throughout the process from beginning to end. The installer was very professional and he cleaned up the work area very well after he was done with his work. I would definitely use ASP again for other future projects.
Description of Work: ASP installed a new fiberglass door and frame in the back of my townhouse along with door knob and deadbolt lock.

Order was placed June 4th with Jonathan, the ASP president, who came to my 96-year old father-in-law's house, give us a quotation, and offered a contract, which we signed immediately, and paid $375 down. He promised to obtain a letter from the Condominium association, handle the city permit, remove existing windows, bars, and outside shutter brackets; install the windows and complete the job by painting and cleaning up. He estimated that it would take about a month to order, receive, and install the windows. This began a series of unpleasant interactions with the ASP office staff, who reside behind locked doors in a makeshift loft-like arrangement within a mile or two of the installation site.I have now visited their office at least 4 times and called and emailed perhaps a dozen times to follow up on various demands for instant payment of "installments" that I never asked for, and to correct misinformation. One day they threatened not to order the windows unless I paid $1600 immediately, and the same day, it turned out that they had ordered the windows and that they had arrived. There was a delay of a week or so during which they lost the address of the Condominium association. They installed the windows on July 17, and they look good. I inquired about the touch-up painting, and the first answer was that the job had been completed.. The second answer was that they would send someone to do the painting. The thrird answer, obtained only by chance, was that I had not bought the paint, and therefore the painting was not scheduled. Nothing had been said previously about buying paint, and I guess I was supposed to figure this out. Since the installation house is not mine, I chose a small "family-operated" company for its potential to complete the job without hassle, but the opposite has been true in this case. I can recommend the windows and the crude installation, but would prefer to have nothing further to do with the office staff. If you have extra time to wait for the windows, and the price is right, this may be your company. If you want a smooth, hassle-free experience, avoid ASP. Their chaotic and imperious office procedures seriously detract from the efficiency of the sales and installation crew.
Description of Work: Purchased 3 medium-sized high-impact windows to replace existing windows in a residence in Sweetwater, with installation.

Response from ASP SuperHome
Thank you for your response. As a company continuously making efforts to improve service, we appreciate the good comments as well as the not so good. As a professional company, we normally always stick with the motto “ The customer is always right”. Yet on occasions, we cannot accept responsibility when we exceeded our obligations. Your total contract agreement was for $3758 which you signed on June 4th and your project was closed on July 17. We could never promise less than a month to complete a project. The front page of our agreement states “project completion within 4-6 weeks upon permit approval”. In order to complete permit, we would need an approval letter from your association. Our team made various efforts to accommodate your father since we were advised of his age and continuous calls concerned for a hurricane on stormy days.In good faith, we took the responsibility of going back and forth with his association so that he would not have to deal with it himself. Again, in good faith, I gave my office permission to order your materials ahead of schedule to assist in your father's urgency. My staff explained that your frustration was that we had just charged the first 40% for the permit approval and that we installed and had inspection within the same week, therefore you felt like it was a lot of payments all at the same time. You refused to make payment when it was due at the time of installation took place. My installers called me and I went ahead and gave them the okay to install anyways. On our contract it clearly states our payment plan, 10% deposit, 40% upon permit approval, 40% upon commencement, and 10% once inspection is approved. Since we had preordered your materials, materials were installed and inspection was approved the next day. As for having to come here to make payments, that was your choice. We accept credit card payments, as well as checks through mail. I apologize if my office failed to make that clear to you. It was disappointing to hear that you came in to the office upstairs after passing inspection with the third payment and you became upset again when told final payment was due. The last comment you made calling our office “stupid” was also not appreciated and extremely rude. We apologize for any confusion with the touch up paint. We do understand that during this process the walls surrounding the openings will most likely need to be touched up and we have no problem doing so. As we explained, we will need for the homeowner to provide the paint since only they would be able to know the specific paint type and color. Keep in mind that we are not a paint company, we offer this added service for your convenience as we take pride in going beyond the conventional scope of work for our industry. We take every issue as a learning experience and appreciate meeting and exceeding your needs. We wish you and your father the best in all endeavors. We sincerely thank you for your business.
