Description of Work: Overall I love my new Windows however there was some grief and aggrevation during the process. There was a delay on the starting date, one window was incorrectly sized so that was another one month delay, and my kitchen window low e glass needed to be replaced because the tint was a different color which caused another delay. However I must also say that the sales rep Peter was very informative on the different types of glass i.e. Low e or gray tint. I would give ASP Windows an overall grade a b- and that's because I really like the way my Windows came out after the complete job was done.

Description of Work: Replaced all windows in my house with new impact windows. I have some very large picture windows that now look better than ever. They were very helpful, explained everything to me in detail, were punctual and extremely clean. At the end of each day, there was no way to tell there had been workers in the house. There was a misunderstanding regarding final payment, to which they responded promptly and to my complete satisfaction. Mike Marrero, the project consultant, went out of his way to be of assistance. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Description of Work: ASP Windows removed all the windows of my home and installed new impact windows. Very professional and punctual. Excellent work and craftsmanship. Even though there was an issue with a door, ASP was very responsive and resolved the issue in no time. Recommend to anyone that is willing to pay a bit more for excellent service and professionalism.

Description of Work: I don't want to spend a lot of time vilifying American Storm Protection (ASP). They have already wasted a lot of my time already, so I will make this assessment brief. My wife and I signed a contract with ASP to install three windows and a door in the front of our house on 8-20-13. ASP completed the job on 9-4-14 to less than my satisfaction. It took ASP thirteen months to install three windows and a door. Need I say more? This is one snake in the grass one would be well advised the steer clear of. The members of this company are ingratiating, charming and often apologetic, but don't be fooled. Their concern is feigned and insincere. I am quite sure this project would have continued indefinitely if I had not come to the conclusion that enough was enough. And here is the funny part, but it shouldn't make you laugh: when I first met various representatives of American Storm Protection at the Miami Home Show, I was impressed by their friendliness and front door selection. And when I when I visited the ASP showroom office in Doral, FL, I was impressed by the plaque on the wall that indicated they were an Angie's List A+ service provider. I was definitely charmed and confident I had made the right decision to go with them. I couldn't have been more wrong. But as the saying goes, "once bitten, twice shy," I will not choose or recommend this company again.

Description of Work: We had 20+ impact window installed, one doorway sealed up, and one new impact door installed by ASP. The window installation went smoothly, but the quality of the interior plaster work and exterior stucco work around the window and door openings was shockingly poor. Also, a year after the installation, we had a window broken by a piece of metal kicked up by a lawnmower. We called ASP to get a replacement window, and they were completely unresponsive to our request. It took a week and three phone calls to get through to the person who deals with issues of this sort. He told us that our records were "archived" and it would take him some time for him to find the records and determine the exact size of the window to be replaced. After three and a half weeks of nothing being done, we resorted to calling the manufacturer of the windows (CWS). The CWS representative at first told us we needed to deal with the installer (ASP), then after hearing our complaint about ASP, agreed to resolve the matter. A CWS employee came to our home the very next day to measure the window, and the replacement window was delivered in a timely manner. As far as ASP is concerned, there have to be other window installation companies in the Miami area who provide a higher level of both finish work and follow-up customer service.

Response from ASP SuperHome
Dear [member name removed], Thank you for your comments. We always appreciate reviews whether they are positive or negative as customer satisfaction is our highest priority. We are very sorry to hear that you are as dissatisfied with the work we did for you as you expressed in your most recent review about our company. Rest assure that we try our very hardest to comply with every request in a timely manner. I’d like to touch on a few points that you noted and explain some of the procedures that have to take place throughout the duration of the project and when warranty services are requested after installations are completed. ASP Windows and Doors must and does adhere to strict guidelines which require us to document all activity on any project. Scheduling, coordination, Phone calls, emails, ordering dates, etc. All of this is stored within a customer database so that we may track our progress. We've had some time to review the timeline and we agree with your comments regarding the installation. It did go smoothly with little if any issues. Your Project started January 22nd, 2013. Engineering was completed in 6 business days. The permit package was prepared and was submitted Monday, February, 7th. On February 11th we received a call that the permit was approved and ready for pick up. The following day we had the permit in hand. Typically, Engineering and permitting takes 2-3 weeks from the time Engineering starts to permit approval. Some building departments take longer depending on the district. This process went according to plan and could not have gone any better than it did. The ordering process also went according to plan. All materials were ordered timely. CWS's Lead times are roughly 3-4 weeks for production to be completed. As always, we do not like for a project to stay idle. We are always proactive and make sure that there is always movement on any job. The order was placed the day the permit was approved and the install was scheduled to commence the moment materials arrived. Installation was scheduled to begin March 6th. Approximately 6-7 weeks from entering into an agreement with ASP windows and doors. As you mentioned, we had a very smooth installation and did not experience any challenges that could have caused significant delays. Your sales representative Michael was at the jobsite several times throughout the duration of the installation to perform quality control checks as is expected of all of our representatives. You mentioned that the craftsmanship in plastering and finishing was not done well and that you were not satisfied. This is a complete surprise to us because this is the first time this has been brought to our attention. Whenever we receive a complaint about craftsmanship, we address these issues immediately and/or as many times as it takes to turn-around a product that the customer will be satisfied with. Had we received a request to make corrections, we would have reacted immediately and made the necessary arrangements to correct the inconsistencies with our work. I'm going to assume that the request was not made because of two reasons. One, nowhere in your review does it say that you submitted the request to make the adjustments. Two, I have no record of a complaint about the craftsmanship that was displayed at your project. It seems that you are mostly dissatisfied with the warranty services that took place when the window was damaged and needed glass replacement. It is true that when you asked for us to request manufacturer services to replace the glass, we told you that the files were archived and we needed to locate the floor-plan in order to identify which window was damaged. After one year from a permit closing and inspections passing, these files are archived. When submitting a request for glass replacement, you must identify the exact window on the order so that a glass provider can replicate the unit. Any window supplier will tell you that the glass is what takes longest to produce. Typically, Glass takes up 80-90% of the total production lead time. This warranty service was never going to be an overnight replacement. There has to be a mutual understanding that this was going to take some time to correct. You mentioned that for three weeks, nothing was done. I have confirmation from CWS that you did call them to confirm if someone from ASP had submitted a request for repairs and that they directed you back to ASP windows and doors. We are their direct dealer and all requests must come directly from us. They also confirmed that the request to send someone from CWS to field measure the window was submitted and that this is what eventually took place. The only discrepancy in your review is that you’re claiming that nothing was done on our end for 3 weeks. This is incorrect. We have correspondence and documented notes that show otherwise. I would like to also note that the window you purchased was insulated glass and that the broken piece of glass was the outer single pane. The interior impact glass was still intact and that there was never a security issue or damage that may have caused any discomfort other than aesthetics. Had there been a security issue CWS would have most certainly expedited the service order. CWS has an excellent service department. To not cause any further delays or any errors during the process, we had them agree to sending a service crew out to confirm which window needed repair before sending the glass to production and completing the service. This falls outside of their standard operating procedures. We were asked to provide the specifications on the exact window so they could re-order the glass. The circumstances did not allow us to do so. And since CWS has always been there for us and our customers, the decision was made to send someone to field measure. I believe that overall, the issue was handled timely. Warranty services can usually take 2-4 weeks, depending on what’s needed. We apologize if you feel that this was not handled the best way it could have been handled. I’d like to take the time to let you know that we would like to schedule a meeting to review your claims on the craftsmanship. Someone will be contacting you soon. If there are any corrections that need to be made, we will not hesitate to send a crew out to you to do so. It’s unfortunate that we were not notified about the plastering sooner and some other way other than a review on Angie’s list. I understand that any type of heavy construction can be stressful and frustrating. I have to also say that an Overall Grade of “D” in our honest opinion is not a fair grade. The initial project timeline clearly deserves an “A” Grade. It’s disheartening to receive a low grade for a project that we feel should have received higher marks. Nevertheless, ASP windows and doors will always remain eternally grateful for your business and we will always be there for you should you encounter any issues in the future. Sincerely, ASP windows and Doors
Stephen H.

Overall they were great.
Description of Work: I met with Marcos Tabares of ASP Windows to have 8 old windows in my back bedroom replaced with hurricane impact windows. Mr. Tabares looked at the other impact windows we had and very clearly explained what he suggested and told me it would match what I had. I had a price quote the following day which was less than 2 other quotes I had received. Everything went as planned and actually, they finished a half a day ahead of schedule! The installation crew was on time and very neat and the quality of the work exceeded my expectations. I plan to do another window replacement after the first of the year and will certainly use ASP for the job.
