I fell for a scam with this company. When I called to schedule the service, they were not aware of the offer. They tried to sell me a maintenance contract over the phone. Finally I got the appointment for 3/1/11. The technician looked at the first A/C and told me it needed to be replaced. He spent all the time preparing a quote for the unit. He left me a handwritten quote! He looked ate the other two systems but did not perform basic tests like freon check or flushing the lines. And no free freon and no gift card either. It is a scam!
Description of Work: A/C tune-up and cleaning offer that should include "23 individual cleanings, evaluations and adjustments". The offer included up to 2 pounds of Freon free and $50 gift card at a local restaurant. I contracted the service for 3 units in my home.

Did not do the project but will definitely use ARS in the future when I decide to replace the A/C unit.
Description of Work: It's encouraging to know that there are honest business people still around. My A/C unit was not cooling so I e-mailed three companies on Thursday, February 12, for estimates; needless to say that here in Florida, I needed those estimates ASAP in order to repair or replace the 17 y/o unit. Friday morning, Robert Martinez, from ARS, called and came out to the house an hour later. While evaluating the problem, he noticed that the outside A/C on/off switch was turned off (we later found out that my wife had turned it off thinking that it was the sprinklers' switch); anyway, as soon as he turned the switch on, we had cold air. He continued with his estimate because after all, the unit is 17 years old and we have added square footage to the residence and now need a larger unit. I'm in a situation now where I can delay replacing the unit and not incur needless expenses thanks to Robert's honesty; however; there is not a doubt in my mind that I will call ARS and Robert Martinez for all my HVAC needs. By the way, the other two companies never called; as a customer, I never call anyone twice.

They are very punctual. They are very honest and always tell the truth. They are extremely well priced as well. They have an emergency 24 hr service and do not charge for the visits.

Their techs are good about fixing things. They have been pretty helpful, although they are under some incentive to sell a new unit. But I have never had a problem with the quality of their work. The price listed is per year.

The tech who came out was not knowledgeable about what he was doing and he tried to charge me for the service when I had a service contract with them. I felt that he was being deceitful to me. When I called them again for a new central air unit with ducts, the quote they gave me was twice as high as other companies I had called.

HE TOLD YOU AND A GENTLEMAN THAT THE SOLUTION WAS TO INSTALL A NEW CONDENSATE PUMP TO DISPOSE OF THE CONDENSATE PRODUCED BY THE A/C EQUIPMENT; HE GAVE YOU AN ESTIMATE AND WAS ASKED TO LEAVE YOUR HOME (NOT IN A VERY NICE WAY) BY THAT GENTLEMAN IN YOUR HOUSE. OUR PRICES ARE VERY COMPETITIVE AND OUR WORK IS GUARANTEED WITH A 100% SATISFACTION WARRANTY. THERE IS NO RECORD OF ANY QUOTES GIVEN FOR EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT WITH DUCTWORK, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHERE THE COMPARISON COMES FROM ABOUT OUR PRICES BEING TWICE AS HIGH OF SOME ONE ELSE. The company charges a fee just for coming to look - which is fine, they were very upfront about it on the phone - but I still found the price to be extremely high. After the technician determined the problem and went up on the roof to fix it, I called another company out of curiosity to see what they charge for the same work. When I complained, the technician offered a 10% discount and said there was nothing beyond that that he could do. He only offered the explanation that other companies will quote low and then find other repairs to do while they're out as a way of increasing the final bill... but I don't buy that explanation. $275 dollars for one hour of labor is crazy. My attorney charges less.
Description of Work: My AC was not cooling so ARS came out to check it out and determined that the capacitor on the roof was not functioning and needed to be replaced. The technician replaced it promptly with a part he had in his truck.

They do a full inspection when they come out to my home and they are very detailed with the work. If there is a problem that is noticed they will inform me immediately and they will accommodate me in getting it done as soon as possible.

The workers from ARS are very thorough and timely. They are always extremely professional and considerate. I definitely recommend them to others. I would just like to say that they are a top notch service.
Description of Work: ARS comes out to service the air conditioner unit in my 2,400 square foot home. The work takes 30 minutes, and they checked the Freon levels and filters. They come out once a year.

I had an issue arise with the service call originally. After speaking with the owner directly, he promptly took care of the matter and assured me that was not how they do business. Thus, I would not hesitate to use ARS in the future.
Description of Work: I had ARS come to do a tune-up on my system, as I suspected it could probably use some more refrigerant. Tech checked the various components of the system and also added a few lbs of refrigerant to make the air even colder.
