Appliance Wizard

I called for repair late afternoon 6-09 due to washer filling with water but not agitating (no power.) Scott came out the next morning on time, was friendly and professional, replaced a part, gave me a better price than a different company had given my father about a year previously for the same problem on his washer, and was on his way in less than an hour.

He was prompt and the price was right. I contacted him and since he was near my home he was able to come out within 15 minutes.

My washing machine needed to have some valves changed as it got clogged up with lime and other things. I had earlier changed the hoses but that didn’t work. So, I called Scott from Appliance Wizard and he told me he knew what the problem was. He came out and fixed my washing machine. It works beautifully now; as it is supposed to. I have a kitchen stove, which had a couple of shorts, last week. The elements weren’t working anymore, so I bought new elements. I found that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that the switches needed to be replaced and as were some sockets that the elements plug into. He came out and did that; he did it really well. He did it quickly and reasonably. His prices were very reasonable and realistic. He doesn’t overcharge. He doesn’t take advantage and pretend. He had the parts with him in his truck because he knew he would need them.

I've just always been very satisfied with them. My fridge wasn't working at all. It was older so I figured I would have to replace it. I call them up and they worked out a temporary solution. He told me the repair wouldn't last very long but it's still running.

Came on time and I had no wait. Fixed the door for $65. He was very reasonable and did a good job.

The service call went OK. The company rep. determined that the unit was beyond repair and recommended I purchase a new one.

It went great. I called Scott, and although not an emergency, he was going to be in the area and came within an hour. I have used him before and I always will. He is responsive, polite and very fairly priced. KUDOS TO SCOTT!

I called late one evening and received an immediate call back from Scott. He told me he would try to come out the next day, Saturday, even though he had a busy schedule. I really didn't expect him to come out on the weekend. But, he called first thing in the morning on Saturday and was at my house within a few minutes. He did a great job, is very pleasant and I felt very comfortable with him. I would recommend him to anyone.

Our Kenmore washing machine kept stopping at the spin cycle, and I thought that the timer needed to be replaced because I could get the spinner to start by pushing the timer on and off, turning it clockwise completely around, etc. Scott from Appliance Wizard was here within a half-hour of my call. He quickly took the machine apart and determined that the problem was a switch - considerably less expensive than the timer I thought was bad. He completed the work, again within a half-hour, and the machine seems to be working fine now. If not, I'm sure he'll be back out to honor the 3-month work guarantee.

After arriving home, on a Sunday afternoon, with water on the floor and the refrigerator not cooling and the freezer totally defrosted we set about trying to find a reliable repairman. We were afraid that we would have to replace the refrigerator even though it was only 5 years old. Then I remembered that we had signed up with Angie's List a few months before. After checking out a couple of other appliance repair shops I went with Appliance Wizard because all of his reviews were so good. I called at 9:10am and spoke with Scott who seemed to know immediately what the problem may be with our KitchenAid Superba refrigerator. He said he would be there within an hour. He was there within 30 minutes; was polite and friendly yet wasted no time in getting started. Like all home owners we self diagnosed the problem as being the compressor. He told us he would check that but did not feel that was the problem. He said that this make typically has a problem with a relay. After checking the compressor, then the relay, he confirmed that it was the relay. Within an hour from start to finish he had fixed it and it worked like a charm. He also advised us that this refrigerator was great and worth fixing even if the compressor went bad. Scott was great! I am so happy to have found him. Now I am giving his name and Angie's List web site to all my friends! Wow. I am sold. We will definitely continue using Angie's List for all needs. Well worth the small monthly investment.

We would highly recommend the Appliance Wizard without any hesitation. He is very knowledgeable, honest and fair. He called before the appointment as promised, he arrived on time and was friendly and helpful. We will definitely use him again.

Called at about 9:30 on a Monday morning - left message - received call back within an hour - within 3 hours of first call Scott arrived, spent about an hour - part was a new pump assembly at $47 + $65 for labor - comes with 90 day parts/labor guarantee. I wasn't there but no complaints - my wife says he was very nice!

Overall it went very well. Once he said it would most likely not be worth fixing the dishwasher, he suggested that I manipulate the cycle switch through its cycle a few times before running the dishwasher, as when it was done manually it seemed to release the lid like it was supposed to do. He thought that might loosen it up, and it could then possibly operate the way it was supposed to, as I had told him that sometimes it did, but lately it had not been. He didn't charge me anything, not even for the service call. He said that if it didn't work after I had popped the lid a few times before each wash then I would be better off getting a new dishwasher, as the cost of the repair would be nearly the cost of a new one. I appreciated his honesty, and the fact that he didn't charge me for the service call, even on the weekend! I have done as he suggested, and the dishwasher soap dispense lid pops open like it's supposed to for the past few days. I'll get a new one when it doesn't work.

Excellent. Scott was on time and completed the repair quickly. The fee was reasonable. Will certainly continue to use.

I called Appliance Wizard Saturday morning, hoping to get an appointment for service on Monday. This was possible, and the owner/manager, Scott, came to the house by midday Monday to fix the dispenser, which had a problem with the spring and would not open properly. He fixed it and charged me only for the service call. It was a simple job for him but required the skills which he has, i.e. he knew what to do and how to do it. I didn't! He gave me 90 days guarantee on the work. I was pleased with the service and the work.

Scott has been in the business for 30 years. He came out within two hours after I called. He is very knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and reliable. Scott is the real appliance wizard in my opinion.

Great. Called company and Scott answered. Took down a description of problem and gave a possible cause along with estimated cost and time frame to fix problem. Service call made for next morning. Scott called to confirm that morning and arrived within time given. Identified problem which was what he had described as a possibility over the phone. The problem was fixed within the 30 minutes, he had estimated and for the $97 quoted the day before. Gave a 90 day guarantee on parts and labor. Wonderful experience.

Scott was excellent. He was able to come out within a few hours and I did not have to wash dishes by hand! I will use him for all our large appliances and will certainly refer him to my friends.

SCOT RESPONDED QUICKLY. HE FIXED THE DRYER IMMEDIATELY BY REMOVING LARGE AMOUNT OF LINT; DISHWASHER WAS REPAIRED TEMPORARILY. HE ORDERED A PART AND RETURNED TO INSTALL IT AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

He always shows up on time and always return calls, i have been using him for over 20 years! I would highly recommend him to anyone and i will DEFINITELY continue to use him

Noticed water dripping at the bottom of the freezer section. Ice was beginning to melt and things in both the freezer and fridge sections felt warmer than they should. Called the Appliance Wizard at noon on a Saturday and he was here by 2 PM the same day so all my food wouldn't spoil! I have never gotten this level of responsiveness from Sears or other services. After short diagnosis time, he found that the defrosting thermostat had gone bad. After replacing the part, he waited an extra 15 minutes to make sure it was cooling properly (his time, not paid). The repair took about 1 hour from arriving to leaving. He was clean, courteous, and seemed rather knowledgeable.

I talked to a guy named Scott. I asked how much is labor for replacing a belt, and he said 60.00 and 20.00 for belt. I asked if I could buy a drain hose, and he said yes it would be 20.00. He was supposed to call and tell me exact price, and he never called back. I called him, and he stated he tried to call me but no one answered, and he had the wrong #. The price of the belt and drain hose then increased. I asked why the price went up, and he blew up, started yelling, and hung up on me. I would grade better if he did not blow up at me.

THEY ARE A CONVENIENT COMPANY. THEY FIX ANY APPLIANCE IN MY HOME. THEY ARE VERY RESPECTFUL AND FRIENDLY. THE WORK THEY DO IS EXCELLENT. I FEEL THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL AND CAN DO ABOUT ANY REPAIR ON AN APPLIANCE.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WAS VERY GOOD. HE IS REASONABLY PRICED. I EVEN RECOMMENDED HIM TO MY DAUGHTER. I WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY CAME OUT ON A SATURDAY TO DO THE WORK.
