My fiancé and I began the process of purchasing a new home during the pandemic so I understood there may be “issues”, however, what we experienced as a first time home buyers is inexcusable. Our loan originator was Andres O. who immediately began peddling his personal Amazon investment company once we began the home purchasing process. Although this should’ve been a red flag I dismissed it because I believe in trusting people and understand a "side hustle". In the beginning everything went smooth although we were unable to find a suitable house since so many were being purchased at ridiculous speeds. As the search progressed into the 2nd month Andres became a little less reachable. However, it was during this time that he mentioned he was close to putting this job as his “back burner” job since he was promoting his Amazon investment. Unfortunately, we were too far invested with ABSM to back out and were closing in on homes PLUS we needed pre-approvals to view homes regardless. However, Andres held true to his wording of placing it on the back burner and due to his neglect we missed our first closure date and were forced to wait an additional 2 weeks to close. During this time my fiancé and I began trying to understand what went wrong and Andres had many reasons to name others for this failure. During those 2 weeks while we waited we submitted ALL paperwork well in advance, again. And yet we STILL missed the second date as well. In closing I spoke to our realtor as well as others involved in the purchase of this home trying to solve the problem and apparently Andres pointed the finger at myself as well as my fiancé we learned. However, in a discussion the previous day he pointed the finger at everyone else except us and himself. Luckily we had the ability to share with others his exact words to show them the truth. I’m a veteran that believes in following through with your task professionally and proficiently, Andres did neither.
