They came to my unit and charge me to repair, clean and maintenance but the next they my A/C started to make a huge noise. Called them back and they charge me 140.00(just to visit) and send me new huge new quote 3 times I paid before. Both visit the guy tried to push 1/2 hour more then he stays in my place.

This is not the first time that Airstron has in my opinion deliberately overcharged us, so beware. they do show up and they do the work correctly, but....We live in a condo building and they park their car in public parking outside of our building as their trucks can't access our extra parking space in our garage. They check in with their office and the clock starts ticking; they have a minimum charge of $155 t o come and for the first hour; and then another $105 per hour or ANY PORTION OF AN HOUR thereafter. Then they come up stairs to survey the problem. then they walk back to their truck to get what they need. they then fix the problem and then take everything they used back to their truck and get the bill. By this time they had spent about 50 minutes actually in our apartment, but with all the walking back and forth and the elevator time they had actually used 1 hour and 5 minutes by the time the service rep returned. He presented a bill for $260 to my husband, who wasn't paying attention and didn't remember that we'd been through this the last time too. The guy had left by the time I looked at the bill and when my husband called, Airstron begrudgingly agreed to refund $50, still leaving us to pay $55 for no service rendered! We haven't seen my husband's credit card bill yet to see if they really refunded anything. I'm writing this today as our air went out again this morning and when I called they said that they would take into consideration that they were here 3 weeks to the day ago, (although they tried to say it had been a month), but that they would charge me $155 for coming that normal charges would apply and repeated that they would take into consideration that they had been there 3 weeks ago. Turned out that the AC in our building had gone out as they had to make repairs to a unit, so I didn't need them at all, but their policies are designed to overcharge and this is not the first time that we've had the same experience. The last time that they came, they checked in the the valet, who called us to tell us that they had arrived. It was 20 minutes before they came upstairs, so I'm guessing the service rep went back to his truck and did something before coming up. It certainly didn't take 20 minutes to take the elevator to the 7th floor. I should also mention that when I had the new unit put in about 8 years ago, I bought it from Airstron and they installed it saying that the had installed many of these units in my building before. It didn't fit in the old closet, so clearly they hadn't installed many of these units in the building as there are 36 units with exactly the same configuration! They had to extend my closet, leaving a sub code passage way outside HVAC closet. We discovered this as we are going to do work on the apartment and are drawing up plans for permits. Every time they send someone to fix the AC, the service guy says the same thing. Gee, I've never heard of this brand before where did you get it! So, my final comment is watch the time that they are actually working. From now on, I will ask the service guy to agree on the time he arrives before he starts work and ask him to get all his tools and the billing pad/form/info the first time that he returns to his truck. Frankly, we know that the line is blocked and tell them so, hence they could bring the necessary equipment the first time they come, but it is another way for them to over charge you. Don't believe anything they tell you about any unit you are buying from them. I was out of town when my AC broke and had to make the arrangements to replace it long distance and was foolish enough not to check out the unit/brand that they said that they would install. As I'm in sales, I'm guessing that there was an incentive on selling the Tran units and that's why they suggested it. It certainly wasn't because that's the brand they use as it isn't familiar to any of their service reps. While installing the new unit, they broke a pipe too. They fixed it as they always do, but the fix comes at a price. We actually call the Fort Lauderdale number, but it is the same company.

.My AC was leaking and had frozen up. I called Airston and explained my problem and was told the first available appointment was the next day between 9 AM & 11 AM. My daughter was home that morning and she said they showed up about 8:30. It took a couple of hours for the technician to unclog the drain and add the Freon but he fixed the problem. So overall I'm pleased with the service. They are expensive but I was quoted their hourly rate over the phone so I can't complain about that too much. Also the tech put in his report that eventually either my air handler or the coils would need to be replaced so I called their office back to get a price on doing that work but they haven't called me back yet with a price.
Description of Work: Unclogged the drain on my AC and added Freon.
