Abbott Safe & Lock

I called the company and they were on a call in Coral Gables but said I would be their next appointment. I was called when they were on their way to my house, they arrived promptly and completed the work to my satisfaction. I would defintely use this company again.

He arrived on time. Spoke excellent English. Was polite and courteous. He completed the work in about 1 and 1/2 hours.

Joel came over about 20 minutes after I called. He looked at the lock and said it was most likely just a small piece and wouldn't have to be completely replaced. He said he had the piece he needed and in 10 minutes, he was finished. He was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. I told him I found him on Angie's list, and went with him despite a negative review I read about a man who was robbed and blamed Abbott for whatever reason. I'm always skeptical of a business who receives stellar reviews and then has one customer who's peeved about something...and tries to crucify the business. Abbott was nothing but wonderful for me and I'm happy to overlook one negative review out of many. Keep up the good work!

I dealt with John and he was pleasant on the phone. I had been pricing this safe for a week or so and they came in $200 less than the closest competitor, installed. John and another man came to my house and installed the safe. They drilled 4 holes and installed the anchors in the concrete. During the install, they told me several stories about showing up to previous clients homes and finding the safes in beat up condition but still firmly anchored and having to crack the safe. and quot;No one had ever removed one of their installed safes.and quot; I felt confident and loaded all my valuables into my new safe. Guns, jewelry, watches, photo albums, cameras, spare keys... EVERYTHING that had any value, monetary or sentimental. August 28, 2013, 3:30 PM. I get a call from my alarm company. My house had been burglarized. I drove home reassured that all my and quot;good stuffand quot; was secure in my safe. The crooks entered through a French door on the back of my house. Unfortunately, the glass break sensor did not register. The alarm did not go off until they kicked open my front door to load up their van. However, they had all the time they needed. I have it on my neighbors security cameras. In exactly 26 min they left my house with that safe and everything inside. They removed a 600 lb safe with at least 100 lbs of contents that was anchored with FOUR 2000 lb bolts, by hand. That is 8700 lbs!! My pickup truck should not be able pull that out. The police, my neighbors and a few friends all were in the same disbelief that the entire safe had been removed, regardless of time frame. The detective actually said he had never seen a safe that size removed. I called John that same day, told him what had happened and asked him to come by and explain how they were able to remove my safe. After a short conversation, John's reply still sticks... and quot;I'm sorry, s*** happens, I see no reason for me to come by.and quot; WHAT?!? I asked him about his claim that no safe that he installed had even been removed. He reaffirmed this claim and said they must have used special tools. I again asked him to come by, since this was clearly a first, and explain how they did it and what special tools they may have used. He again stated that he saw no reason to come by. One would think they would want to come and see the aftermath of their and quot;first ever stolen safeand quot;. Needless to say I am EXTREMELY angry. I started calling other safe and lock companies and found that the lag bolt anchors that Abbott uses are not used by any of the companies I spoke with due to the fact that they can be loosened by and quot;rockingand quot; the unit. This burglary has cost me over $20,000 and months of headaches dealing with insurance. I chose Abbott based on their great rating here on Angie's list. Therefore, I am surprised at the disinterest with which they handled my situation. Suffice it to say I would NOT recommend Abbott's Safe and Lock.

When we called we thought we would have to make an appointment, as we were planning to leave to go to work within an hour. When we spoke with the gentleman, he stated he could be here in 30 minutes and it would take about 10 minutes to our surprise. He showed up in less than 30 minutes, was very courteous and nice and had the door lock rekeyed and the extra key made in no time. It was a pleasure dealing with them and just for anyone else's information in case you are wondering, we were kind of skeptical when we saw here on Angie's List that there was no license, however in looking for their phone number, as only their fax number is listed, we found their website and they are most definitely licensed and their website displays their license number and their phone number. We would not hesitate in calling them again, as the service was great, prompt and friendly.

I called Abbott Tuesday morning around 10am to see if they could come out that afternoon to re-key the locks on a house we just purchased. They were not sure if the could fit me in but told me they would call me back. At 3:00 they called to let me know they would be there at 4.....showed up right on time and were done within 30 minutes. They were extremely knowledgable and professional and even gave me several ideas for door handles that I will contact them for in the future. Overall it was an extremely plesant experience and I will definately use them again!!!

When the front door latch set broke, we purchased a new complete set, not realizing we were not purchasing the same brand as those already installed. I called Abbott about trying to correct that error. He offered a number of options, but ultimately was more interested in my getting the best answer at the best price than just doing what I said for whatever it cost. As a result, he replaced the cylinder, matching the original brand and keys, saving a mass key replacement in the process. He also went out of his way to note improvements that could be made in the installation, and making them, all for his original quote. By far the most responsive and most professional locksmith I've ever dealt with.

Called Abbott to re-key our outside door and install a new lock on the inside door. They set up an appointment very quickly and the guy that came over was punctual and nice. He rekeyed the first lock and then explained that the new lock we bought would not work on our door. He did not require that we go out and buy another lock but simply offered to rekey the second door at no additional charge as well. He offered great advice for changing our doors and locks in the future.

Each time I had an appointment witth Abbott's Joel arrived punctually and worked steadily to complete the jobs. He took the time to make sure I understood how to operate the locks and to answer any questions. I was given as many keys as I needed at no extra cost. I highly recommend Abbott's. The only reason I didn't give them an A for responsiveness was because it took a number of calls to reach them. However, they were excellent in responding to my needs once I had made contact. This is not a big company with locksmiths that are available 24-7 though they work 6 days a week. All in all, I would use them again and recemmend them to my friends.

They were prompt and were very quick workers. Their rates were very reasonable and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Closed on a Friday and called. They installed the new locks that weekend and did not charge us extra. We will be using Abbott to upgrade our front door hardware and enhance our patio door security

It was a very good experience. They responded in a timely fashion and took care of the problem. They charged me a reasonable fee. They are good and I think they should be recognized.

I called on a Sunday to have locks re-keyed. Joel came out within an hour and did the job. He did four locks and provided me with new keys. He even aligned a sliding glass door and didn't charge for that. I would definitely use this company again.

When my son's driver's license and keys were stolen form his locker at a local sports club, we had to have our locks re-keyed as soon as possible. Having located Abbott's on Angie's list, I called, and John came down within an hour. He was uncommonly courteous, quick, and efficient. And he was such a veritable encyclopedia of knowledge about locks and keys that it was a pleasure to chat with him throughout the job. Abbott's price was quite competitive (we got estimates from several firms), but it is hard to imagine how the work could have been better.

I initiated a call to inquire about getting a safe installed in my home. Owner provided information re price, size, qualities, etc., and sent me to a website where I could view safes he had available. I then went to his location to choose between two sizes that interested me and picked what I wanted. It was delivered and installed when I wanted, on time, and in a neat manner. The owner and his brother who works with him were professional, friendly, and stayed until I was sure of how to operate the lock. I could not have had a better experience!

I THOUGHT THAT THEY DID A GREAT JOB CHANGING ALL THE LOCKS ON OUR HOUSE. THEY MADE SURE THAT ALL OF THE KEYS WORKED PROPERLY ON ALL THE DOORS BEFORE LEAVING.
