Description of Work: I was wanting him to find the source of a leak in my ceiling. He started off like he was in a bad mood. He was not friendly to begin with. I am currently in the process of de-cluttering my home to prepare for a remodeling project. I have 20 years worth of things that I am trying to organize. As soon as he walks in and sees the mess, he told me when I get my stuff cleared out, then he would come back out to look at the leak and walked right out and left. I understand that my home was cluttered, but he didn't have to approach the situation like that. He was not cordial at all and because of that, Douglas Orr Plumbing missed out on a very big job.

Description of Work: Identified source of a leak at the bathroom sink. Replaced a pipe. Workman came on time, was prepared, worked efficiently, and fixed the leak without a glitch. It was an emergency situation and the company was able to send someone immediately. We were very happy with the result.

Description of Work: After an initial diagnosis, and temporary fix to stop a massive water leak in our garage ($400) Douglas Orr plumbing installed a new water line from pump to house because finding the actual leak in the older line (only 9 years old) under the concrete floor was very problematic. It wasn't cheap (estimate $225 + $1,350) but it was better than jackhammering up 40 ft of tile floor. It did take two guys an entire day, even though we hired our gardener to dig the entire 80 ft. ditch around the house for the new line -- better than paying plumbers to dig ditches. We thought the problem was entirely resolved, however a leak developed in the new line, outside the house fortunately, from a faulty plastic adapter as the pvc transitioned to copper for entering the house. The new leak started spraying water late Friday evening (24 hours after the install & according to our softwater meter it was 1 gallon every 3 minutes). I called D.Orr office Saturday morning, and was put through to the emergency line since the office was closed. At first I was told that since this was "warranty" work , they could not come out on the weekend unless I paid for the visit! I did not feel this was reasonable at all to pay again to fix something that was clearly a malfunctioning part -- especially since I had just paid them $1,975 over the past week. Upon my insisting that they speak with management, they were given the go ahead to come out on Saturday -- the only problem was the two plumbers on call were both already on jobs in N. Miami and Broward -- so a long way from me in S. Miami. By the time they finished their other calls, it was going to be late when they would arrive at my house and a big push to get it done before dark. Plus it was clear that the plumber was not keen on coming out. I felt bad for him and hate to mess up anyone's weekend, so said I would wait till Monday, if they promised to get me on the schedule for Monday. Unfortunately, there was some very wierd miscommunication on his part which resulted in no one being assigned to come to my house, which I only found out after I called the office. The plumber did come today, Tuesday and God willing we are finished with the plumbing part of the repair. (still have to repair all the drywall that had to be cut). Overall, I like Douglas Orr because they looked for alternative solutions to a big problem, but there were two times when one of the plumbers failed to communicate information to the others, which resulted in unnessesary delays for us. And also I feel that if something is under warranty and leaking -- that weekends should not automatically be off limits. After all if it is under warranty -- then you've ALREADY paid for it to work properly. I agree with not bothering them if it can wait, but that policy has a lot of room for improvement.
