ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I contacted this company on the morning of Friday, June 22, 2018, to have work done at a condo unit I own. I was very impressed by their Angie's List rating which consisted of mostly A reviews. I was routed to Angie Magnole who took all of my information and quickly sent me documents to sign. She told me a plumber would be there on Tuesday (6/26) between 9am and 10am. I contacted the building manager to make sure the water would be turned off between 9am and 12pm. I let Angie know about this short window, and she assured me it would not be a problem. I also notified my tenant, who took the day off from work to deal with this. By 10:30am, no one had shown up. I reached out to Angie who gave me a story about the plumber being held up at another job and that she was sending someone else. She told me he would be there by 10:45am. I reminder her that the water would be back on by noon. By 11:15am, there was still no plumber there. I called Angie again who now said the plumber was stuck in traffic and would be there "within the hour." Naturally I was concerned given the noon deadline that was rapidly approaching. Finally around 11:45am, the plumber showed up but said he could not complete the work by noon and the building manager said he would not leave the water off past noon. In the end this was a complete waste of time--both mine and my tenants. I will NEVER use this company again and want to make sure as many people as possible know about my experience.

Luis was very efficient and systematic at detecting where the leak was. He determined rather quickly where the general area of the leak was. Then, he was extremely patient at searching for the exact location with the sonar leak detector. First he drilled holes on the concrete, outside, where the hose spigot was located. This was to see if the drill bid came up damp. After a while, he cracked a small half circle on the concrete with a chipping hammer and saw the angle of the galvanized pipe entering my house. They then had to chip away at my tile, inside my house, to a depth of about a foot and a half and 20" long. They were extremely careful and methodical as to not break the pipe. Overall, they found it after about five hours of chipping and removing debris. He then placed a temporary clamp. At that point the leak was stopped at about 97% (as he wrote it on the work order). They were very clean and organized, and even cleaned up after themselves. Luis gave me options for my next decision, like re-piping and abandoning old galvanized pipes. I am currently waiting to see what to do.

Went very well. Wall was opened up in utility room (about a 3 ft x 2 ft area from floor upward). Waste arm was 60s yr old copper pipe with split underneath causing water leak from under wall. PVC replacement was installed. Since our water heater had to be moved out of the way for the job and it was 19 years old, we decided to have it replaced at the same time. Plumber took away old water heater when he brought and installed the replacement. Everything is good to go now with no hassle. Before repair was made we could not use dishwasher, clothes washer or kitchen sink without water leaking onto the utility room floor. Happy Campers now!

Technician came unplugged with a snake and then asked if I wanted him to take the toilet off and I said yes. He found that the trap was plugged and would not come out with the snake. He took what we could see out and it now works great.

Do not use Douglas Orr! Represent what is hORRible about South Florida companies. Excellent customer service until they bill your credit card and then you will never hear from them again. Took 10 days to get an estimate after 2 emails and 3 phone calls. Save yourself a hORRible experience and go to another company. Charge you $150 for estimate and then pricing super high such that you will go with another company. Save your time and money. Vicky and staff don't respond to emails. Douglas hORRible plumbing.
Description of Work: Rerouting water line. Simple job and trench already dug. Day of estimate plumber three hour late. It required 10 days to get an estimate which only happened after multiple calls and emails. Sent email with corrupted file. Took two additional emails to get pricey estimate and it required two additional emails and including Vicky of customer service to get a response.

I called on Friday for an appointment on the following Wednesday from Noon - 4PM. I (the customer) had to call Wednesday morning, since I hadn't heard anything since making the appointment and confirmed that they would be out. I was told that yes - they will call before they come between 12:00 & 4:00. When I hadn't heard anything by 3:30, I called and receive the excuse that they were running behind and they should be contacting me shortly. After another 40 minutes, I called and cancelled the call since they didn't have the integrity to keep their appointment time (keep in mind that I booked the appointment 5 days prior). When I asked for a manager, I guess they all were too cowardly to take the call as no managers were in the building. I will NEVER do business and recommend all others don't call these people. If they can't keep their word for 5 days, Lord knows how unscrupulous these people are.
Description of Work: I called for 4 routine plumbing tasks to be done around my house - replacing two outside valves, replace a kitchen faucet and repair a link under my sink.

We offered you a first call in the morning and explained that those calls are really the only calls that we can give an exact time since it would be our plumber's first call of the day. You chose that we come after 12:00, which is no problem. However, as we originally explained that sometimes our plumbers get tied up on the jobs they are on. We promised that we would call 30 minutes in advance, as we do with all of our customers, so they are not sitting around waiting for us. We had every intention to get to your residence between 12-4. You called at 3:30 and we assured you that you were still on the schedule, my service manager called the closes plumber and he said that he would be finishing up his current call in about 30 minutes and would head straight to you. We conveyed all of this information to you and apologized for any inconvenience this was causing you. You hung up on two of the ladies in my office and began calling them cowards. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. TERRIBLE REPAIRS AND WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The running toilet starts running again a few days after they left. I contacted them and made an appointment for them to fix it. The did not show nor call to cancel. I contacted them again that day and made another appointment. They did not show nor call to cancel. I had another plumber fix. The water filter cartridge was placed on wrong; two days later we had a flood on our hardwood floors and kitchen cabinets. DO NOT USE!!!

After you called we went back out and made the proper adjustments and re-installed the filter. I was not leaking at that time but we agreed that we would purchase a new one and re-install since we didn't trust it would not leak again. We returned at no charge and replaced the filter. During our phone conversation you mentioned to me that we worked on your mother's toilet at a different location (Boca) and that the toilet was leaking again. I said no problem and that we would be happy to go back out. My customer service dept. left you a message so we could return. A few weeks later you contacted us and placed a service call. The only record we have of the call is the day it was scheduled, 11-28-17. I agree that the call was scheduled between 9-12 and we received a call from you right after 12, at that time we apologized for our tardiness and that we would have someone out within the hour. I called them out because my toilet tank began to overflow due to a broken part. It was just a routine fix and Louis came out to do the repair. He repaired the toilet rather quickly and since they charge by the hour, we decided to have him look at our other toilet since we had some extra time. He lifted up the toilet tank and he said he saw a thin line of mold around the water rim. He said it was a dangerous situation and said that I only had two choices. I had asked if I could just use Clorox to wipe it away and he said that it would just make it worse and would make the mold more resistant. He said the only two options I had was to replace the toilet altogether, or to unbolt it from the floor, take it outside and acid wash it. I was in shock. I suspected that he was completely incorrect. So I just ended up paying him for the hour and gave him a big tip and he left. This just left me with a really bad feeling after he left. I was in a dilemma as to what to do since he left me with two impossible choices that made no sense. I contacted the manager and she apologized profusely and said that Louis was way out of line. I questioned if he said that I had a dangerous mold problem to scare me into buying an entirely new toilet when it was completely unnecessary and criminal conduct. Many other things transpired that were negligent on the part of this company but to go to the bottom line, the exact same thing happened again in another bathroom in which they kept me dangling about finding a simple part and finally told me that the part is discontinued and said that I needed to replace the entire toilet again because a little part was discontinued. Again, I suspected that they were exhibiting classic criminal behavior of a scam-artist company. Twice. This has caused me great emotional distress by telling me that I have no other choice but to replace the entire toilet when the simplest of fixes were available. When I finally got a new plumbing company, my suspicions were confirmed. The plumber was able to immediately identify the necessary part and went to pick it up at a local plumbing supply store and repaired it the same day. When I called to confront Douglas Orr on their scam and criminal activity, they hung up on me. This company should be put out of business and some of these people should be in jail.
Description of Work: I had been a customer of Douglas Orr Plumbing for 25 years and they were great for 10-15 years, but I noticed a slow decline in the customer service and plumbers. Then it all blew up within the last year; not just negligent, but criminal service.

We called and they called back in less than 5 minutes! We had to wait a little over an hour for the plumber, but he was very professional and courteous. He resolved the issue in about 15 minutes considering the awkward location of the water heater. It sits suspended above the garage floor.

I had an emergency plumbing need this afternoon. I came home to discover a flood in the bathroom and water dripping from a toilet tank (not the bowl). When I went to turn off the water at the toilet's shut off valve, I found that it did not work and the water continued to leak from the toilet bowl. I called Douglas Orr Plumbing and explained the problem to the receptionist/staff assistant who answered the phone. She advised me that they could send someone out today, but since I didn't have an appointment they would need to charge me overtime rates. (This was even though it was only 1:00pm on a Thursday afternoon.) I said that was fine as I needed this taken care of immediately. She then told me that the Douglas Orr charges $90 for travel time and then $180 per hour. She emphasized that the minimum charge would therefore be $270 for the first hour and then an additional $180/hr after that. Again, I told her that would be fine as I needed his taken care of this afternoon. She then proceeded to ask for an email address and a credit card number. When I told her that I didn't want to give out my email address and that I wasn't planning to pay by credit card, she insisted that it was necessary to have a credit card number on file anyway. I finally had had enough of her and told her to forget it. I called a different firm who turned out to be much more reasonable. They came out to my house within 90 minutes and only charged me a total of $145 to replace the valve. It was basically, half of what Douglas Orr said their absolute minimum charge would have been. Given their billing policy of $90 travel time, overtime rates for the middle of a weekday afternoon if you don't have an appointment, plus their exorbitant rates to begin with, I would never consider doing business with this firm again.

It turned out that my shower hose was extra long and required opening up tile to install. The plumber was very helpful in walking me through the process and helping me purchase the required equipment. They came back as soon as the parts came in and did a great job installing it.

Paid $280 to unclogged a drain... Thay claim to have the lattest technology to the work fast, but at the end they take longer, overcharge you, and lie about the time spent doing the job. I was told by this company that the rate they charge is $50 per visit, $100/ per hour, and agreed to get the job done. The plumber was at my address for less than an hour, and performed the job in about 25 minutes, but I was billed for two hours of labor. The gentleman who did the unclogging was inside my building for less than an hour, but the company claims that he performed the job for 2 hours which is not true. I called to make the complain, the girl who answered my call is named Vicky, I told Vicky about the time difference I was being billed for, and asked why I was being overcharged. She was not able to resolve my problem, nor willing to help, at the end of the call she told me I would recieve an email with more information. The next day Vicky tells me that the person in charge is a girl named Monica. I called Douglas Orr Pluming and spoke with Monica, who was not interested in helping me with my overcharged bill situation, and at the end of the conversation she tells me to contact Vicky who is the Manager or assistent manager, and to discuss my situation with Vicky! I am glad I am not Mr. Douglas Orr, because I cannot imagine what he would think about the people working for him. One overcharges you and the others lie and have no customer training at all. AVOID AT ALL COST BECAUSE THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND OVERCHARGE YOU ! I have made my complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well, it is not correct to overcharge paying customers.

The plumber arrived late and without proper parts or tools, even though I gave all of this information over the phone. Their ad said that they gave a discount for Angie's List users, but that was not true. The plumber was incredibly sloppy and did not replace the needed tub part with a new part. Instead, he handed it to me to scrub clean and then replaced it, while making a hole in my tub! He was new to flapper replacements and had difficulty. I found him on the phone making a personal call for over 30 minutes. He then went to his truck to supposedly write up the invoice. This took another 30 minutes. I was happy to see him leave so that I could call another company and have them undo his work and redo everything, causing much additional cost for me. Stay away from this company.

Repairman arrived right at 7 a.m. as agreed - that's about the only that went well. He didn't have the parts to repair the faucet and though he said he would order at the shop, when I called back a few days later he hadn't ordered anything. As per the toilets, I worked with the repairman to install the first, helped him carry and move, etc. even lent him some tools to do the job (he had a bag of loose tools, very poor kit). He got the first installed with me watching, some problems but okay. For the second toilet, I helped him again carry the new toilet in (after removing the old one, etc.). He had to replace a piece of pipe - that went smoothly enough. Everything was ready to install second toilet - I had to go to work and told my wife - "should be another 30 min. no more, he's almost finished" this was just before 9 a.m. Seemed it took him another two hours with no one watching. The report said he had trouble with the flange. from watching him replace the first, I could see that he wasn't especially adept at the job. Not sure if he was simply made mistakes with the second one - that took two hours - or he was simply slow on my dime. $100/hour charge and $50 travel time - though it was the first in the morning and no traffic to speak of. If I had reordered the parts for the faucet, the receptionist told me I would be billed again for the travel time and for the $100/hour. Taking the cartridge in and out would take a max. 10 minutes. I'll do the replacement myself.

[Member Name Removed], I spoke to my plumber and this is what he told me. Yes you did help him remove and carry the toilet into the house. The toilets were supplied by you. If we had supplied the toilets we would have probably sent a helper with our plumber to get the toilets into their proper location. After he removed the 2nd toilet, after you left, he had to chip around and replace the flange because it was broken, this is not uncommon and it takes time to fix. Raul is a very experienced plumber, he said he did ask you to pass him a hammer because his was in the truck and he had to break up the base of the toilet. He could have retrieved hammer from his truck, he didn't think he was going to need it and there was one in his room. As far as the condition of his plumbing tools he agreed they are old looking because he has been using them for a long time. However, he still feels comfortable with them and they still perform. I do want to say that it does look the ball was dropped on the shower parts. Somehow, there was some miscommunication between our Service Department and our Purchasing Department. They were punctual, on time. The estimate they gave me for the work was a very fair one considering the work that had to be done. You really can't ask for more than that from a company who you are trying out for the first time. The technician represents the company very well.
