WR Contracting

The final job was only acceptable after multiple changes and problems that would not have been corrected, had I not pointed them out. I am being "kind" with my rating. William will say he will work with you, but the work standards of his crew were so lacking, that constant supervision was required. Lack of communication with his workers OR complete disregard or lack of understanding of quality standards. If you own a low end rental property, then hire them. If you have a half million dollar condo like mine, then don't expect them to adhere to good standards. Here is a laundry list of problems: 1.) Worker cuts wooden baseboards without mitre joints. Consulted with William. He agrees and worker replaces next day with proper joints. 2.) Bevel needed at junction of baseboard and Italian aluminum door frame (e.g. costly). Instead of removing baseboard, worker uses a cutting tool. Worker puts two scratches in aluminum frame and bevel needs smoothing out. 3.) Pass counter between sink area and shower not level. Top was torn off and replaced with level surface. Quality of metal framing around tile shows small gash and scratches (seemingly sanded where several joints connect but I accepted). The rough cut hand cut edge of the top tile is positioned on the outer visible end instead of the manufacturer's cut. 4.) Original grout line on floor against the shower is uneven....it got larger as it approached the spot where you enter the shower. Different workers remove row of tile and replace, but don't use a spacer (or the same one from previous worker) and the grout line between the next set of tiles is noticeably narrower. Less noticeable when darker grout was used. (See #5.) 5.) Grout color did not seem to be even color throughout. This was mostly (?) alleviated when they did touchup work. 6.) Shower head was not flush with ceiling. 7.) Requested they remove all hardware (all chrome: shelf, light fixtures, towel racks, etc.) before painting. They did not remove, they missed paint spots (only primer) and got paint around base of above objects. I removed them myself, worker cleaned them and painted properly. Still left undone: light fixtures with some old color paint showing around the top side and paint on base. 8.) Rebuilt wall at pass counter was uneven and covered half of the marble edging in sink area. After they tried to correct as best as possible, they had scratched the marble. Got discount to hire another company to sand. 9.) When they removed my Poggen Pohl kick board for the sink area, it was too damaged to replace. When I found out that a replacement board from Poggen Pohl would cost $290, I agreed to let them replace with a regular board. After explaining the dimension height I needed for the kick board, the worker just put the same baseboard as used elsewhere, which was too short and not plastic coated. They replaced it. 10.) Discovered shower head knobs were not correct: All three had arrows for hot and cold but only the middle one was a temperature nob. Turns out it was the manufacturer's fault in what they shipped, but again it would have been nice if this would have been corrected without me having to point it out first. 11.) Design flaw: Shower step over wall did not go flush with edge of wall on the shower hardware side. This is due to the fact they built the pass over counter too wide and the corresponding wall also covered most of the spacer for the cabinetry. By the time the short shower pass over wall met the shower side wall, it stuck out and was only acceptable because the baseboard there made it look flush. The interior dimensions of the shower were even.

Needless to say that finding a good and reliable contractor in Miami is close to impossible. Well Mr Rodrigues and his team are not only efficient, fast, and clean but they also truly care about the job. They really think outside the box and are very good at problem solving, which is a necessary quality when you are getting work done in an old building like I am. We had a very important leak coming from the roof that we had been trying to fix for years. No previous contractor was ever able to find the cause of that leak until WR contracting came along and finally put an end to it. They entirely renovated the hotel's bathrooms and I was really impressed with the way the organized their work schedule, as well as with the rapidness of their work. They were completing 2, sometimes 3 bathrooms every 2 days, allowing us to be fully operational shortly after we started the project (it was a very precise and time consuming work as we had to demolish the existing tile wall one by one to save the tiles, install new valves, durock etc...). Here is another impressive example of their thoroughness and implication. We had always been struggling with storage space in the hotel but could never come up with solutions to gain space, despite the numerous contractors and workers who worked on this site everyday for years. Well, shortly after completing his first project with us, Mr Rodrigues realized that several walls in the hotel were hollow (under our staircase for instance) and could be opened then turned into small storage rooms or even laundry rooms! You would think that someone would have realized that before! This may not seem like much explained like this out of context, but after working with so many incompetent contractors, finding one who knows what he's doing, who helps you come up with ideas and is not afraid to be creative and try things others don't even want to consider, truly takes a weight off your shoulders! I could describe every major project they have done for us but the conclusion would always be same. They work fast, they show up on time and will not leave the site until their work is perfect. And their prices are very reasonable, especially when if you consider the quality of service they provide. I highly recommend them, I already have many times and will be happy to keep doing so in the future.

The work was performed as describe by Mr. Rodrigues, had no problems with the workers, they keep everything clean and where always on time. Did an excellent job in cleaning the house after the work was over. I've used this company repeatedly, and they've always gone above and beyond.

Everything went well. Love love my kitchen and bathroom. Will and his crew were always on time and always cleaned up after themselves Will gave us a lot of ideas for my kitchen and bathroom
