Description of Work: When I needed assistance with my house on foreclosure a friend gave me the number for Barry R. Cohen Law Firm. I made an appointment with Barry and he told me there were so many options of going after the banks, how much experience he has in foreclosure defense, and how corrupt banks are. His speech and sales pitch were promising and I finally thought I would be getting assistance that I desperately needed to keep my family in our home. After months and months of paying him, it was an initial $2,500 and once that went out after a couple months it became $1,500 quarterly, for a total payment of $6,000.00. Needless to say MINIMAL amount of work was done on my case. I negotiated a payoff on my second mortgage myself. I received a modification from the first mortgage holder that was absolutely outrageous. Mr. Cohen's advice was, "since your probably upside down in your house you may want to let it (house) just go." Nothing like he was telling me during his initial consultation. Many promises of how he would fight for me and defend me and my family to the end went out the window since my payments to his office has been completed. I would never recommend this office and pretty much feel as though I was sold on promises that weren't kept. Despite the fact that my payments were always cashed quickly.
