They did a great job of putting on a metal roof. They were punctual and cleaned up everyday. They keep me informed on their progress and did it in the time and cost they quoted. Even through we had a few days of heavy rain during the this re-roof we never had any leaks! I was also very impressed at their workmanship and how well it is built. It is quieter during the rain than my old shingle roof, and it was solid against hurricane Irma! My neighbors have all complemented us on how nice it looks (see photo below).

I solicited bids from several contractors. One didn't even bid on what I requested, one discouraged me from buying what I had wanted, and the only one that actually bid the job that I asked for was more than $3,000 higher than Spilker for the same type of roof. When Mark Spilker showed up at my house, he already knew the area of my roof to within 50 square feet. I asked that he measure it anyway, and he did. He provided the most coherent discussion that I had heard of the differences between asphalt shingle, galvalum, and aluminum roofing. He submitted a bid for the roof that I requested quickly, and his workers installed it exactly as he had said that they would. It took three weeks from the time that I signed the contract until Spilker received that material and scheduled my job. They communicated with me about when they wanted to work and showed up on time every day. Although we received quite a bit of rain during the removal and installation process, they never left until my roof was protected. They finished in one work week. They cleaned up after themselves every day and after they had finished. They answered every question that I asked about the installation quickly and completely, and seemed proud to have me closely observe the quality of their work. Since the installation we have received many hard rains. My roof does not leak. I have been slightly disappointed that we have not had a hurricane so that it could be thoroughly tested, but I am confident that it will hold up well. Aluminum roofs are not cheap, but I have been satisfied with the one that Spilker installed and look forward to many years of service from it. GREAT!!! The sales person was knowledge, prompt and offered great pricing. The installers where neat, courteous and did excellent work. The metal panels were formed and cut on site. We chose a metallic copper finish and it is stunning.

Spilker did a great job on the roof. We scheduled and evaluated approximately 10 bids on our home in N Merritt Island for a complete re-roof job. I was "on the fence" in regards to the decision between the cost savings of a shingle re-roof versus a metal re-roof. We chose to invest more now and we are thrilled to have made that decision, partly because of Spilker's knowledge and professional install. And the roof is as close to bulletproof as is possible post-install. I will keep this as brief as possible: Our decision was based on staying in our current house for at least 15 more years, which we plan to do. Also based on installing a future PV system (easier to do on a metal roof without excess penetrations in the roof). A competitive shingle quote for our house averaged 9,800. The average standing seam metal roof from our solicitation of quotes was 18,600. A lot more money for us..... For our own reasons, we decided the metal roof was the best option. We also decided we wanted Spilker due to their portfolio of past jobs. That and they gave me the best price for a standing seam metal roof. NOT 5-V crimp, not any other system....a STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF. Plain and simple. Best price, no kidding. OK, here's the "most negative thing": Spilker and his roofing company are not great about trying to "please the customer". They aren't rude, but they are mostly a commercial roofing company, and they do big jobs. They are BUSY. It took almost 3 months to get on the schedule. Do not expect to be coddled by the front desk, or on the phone. I am sure they hear lots of annoying phone calls and questions about "WHEN are you going to start blah blah blah...." They have learned how to deal with the "noise" in their own way...They are a little rough around the edges... but the roof is perfect. BOTTOM LINE: If you have issues where you need everyone to worship you, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They did a very commendable job keeping the collateral damage to a minimum (i.e. cleaning up nails and screws every day, etc.) Here is something to keep in mind when getting a new roof---THEY ARE TEARING OFF THE ROOF OF YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER TO REPLACE IT. Spilker did a good job of cleaning up the tear-off and re-roof materials. My only complaint is there were cigarette butts around my property (although not too many). I am kind of a clean freak when it comes to the ground around my house, I do not like seeing any kind of trash...for the most part, they did ok by me. Final thoughts-- A fair amount of money, but well spent if you plan on staying in your house for awhile. Excellent quality of work and materials...you can't buy a longer lasting or more securely fastened roof for Florida. I will never worry about this roof again. Energy savings are already showing in the FPL bill--the roof is more reflective and there is less heat gain in the house. The underlayment (peel-n-stick) is a roof in itself--we had HEAVY rains DURING the install--no leaks and none to this day. I know this whole thing sounds like a pitch for their company, but I promise, I am a REAL customer, and I am educated. If you have the money to invest, this is a superior product and the company did a great job installing it. They could do a better job of not flipping cigarette butts in my yard...but I get it. Not that big of a deal---I have cleaned up the butts, and the roof is still gonna be there in 30 years--the mess is long gone now though. I would refer this company to my best friend.

Spilker Roofing and Sheet Metal was very prompt and competitive quote for roof repairs.They provided a very professional appraisal of the requirements which would result in a quality roof in preparation for selling the house.

The guy was nice enough. We walked the roof of the house. I ended up hiring somebody else but I like him. He was knowledgeable and courteous. His price was quite high compared to the couple of people who quoted and I decided not to go with him. He was recommended to me by my friend, he said he's a good guy but I was not impressed with his quote or anything else. I don't dislike the guy. The price is high and I found him less personable. I wouldn't say not to use him, he may be good at what he's doing and he seems knowledgeable. Other than that I don't have much to say about him.

Outstanding job on all accounts. Our existing 10 yrs old roof was poorly constructed and had multiple problem areas. The Spilker Team was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. They did a great job in cleanup of nails and debris from the old roof removal and I did not find a single stray nail or screw. During the roof installation, several non-conforming situations were discovered – to include the existing skylights and lack of adequate clearance between the roof line and the bottom of some windows. In each case, Spilker custom designed a solution. When it was determined the skylights needed to be replaced, they only charged for materials and did not add a labor charge, despite the scope increase. Whole job was performed to quote, and the same team performed the job from start to finish. The new roof is beautiful and extremely robust. I was told by others on Merritt Island that Spilker was the best – and they lived up to that reputation. My only criticism is that they are in such high demand we had to wait over four months from contract to installation. But if you are buying a 50 year roof, a few months wait is worth the quality. We priced multiple vendors – and very happy we selected Spilker for this major investment in our home. Come drive by and check it out.

Spilker was honest about what they could do for us when we first met with them at their business. They came out as scheduled to give us the cost and came to do the work as scheduled. The roof is repaired and we couldn't be more pleased.
