Parts were ordered by first person (found out in the end he didn't order correct parts). Parts did not arrive in time so first scheduled appt (that was 2 weeks from first) was rescheduled. Got parts next day, next available appt time was for 2 weeks out. Service man came, said it was a two person job and Sears should have set the appt up as that. He left. Next appt. in another week. Service men came out and realized parts sent were damaged and not all the proper parts were ordered. Said they would have to order parts again. Couldn't guarantee parts would arrive not damaged in 2-3 weeks. By this time I was out of a washer for almost 2 months. Sears refused to refund service charge. Decided to cancel repair with this company. Not all the service people were poor, as I had 4 during this time.
Description of Work: The provider talked down to me, felt he needed to "teach" me too many things. Needed parts replaced on my washer. He would not take my coupon I had in hand to take off part of service charge, said I needed to save it for next visit. Charged me wrong service charge. Wouldn't let me complete customer survey alone, prompted me to put excellents for his service.

Description of Work: We have a Sears Homes services contract for our central ac (a Kenmore installed by Sears). They do the repairs OK. They have had us wait up to 10 days for a service appointment. EVEN after I told them that I have my mother-in-law who just was released from the hospital there in 90+degree heat they still couldn't make it there any sooner than 3 days. I will be switching to someone local that actual cares enough to come out when you need them.

I was very disappointed in the repair service from Sears. It does not feel good not being able to talk to a repair specialist when the problem is immediate, such as losing a refrigerator full of food. I could only speak to a person from who knows where and be told someone would see me in seven days. That is no service at all and I was forced to find someone who could talk to me and come out the same day to service my refrigerator.
Description of Work: I called Sears repair when my Kenmore refrigerator stopped working. I was not able to call Sears repair in my county but had to call an 800 number and go through a phone maze to talk to someone about servicing my refrigerator. I was given a date seven days in the future. I refused this offer as I had a refrigerator full of food. The service that I received the same day I called found that the compressor had failed and it would not be be practical to repair the compressor. That meant I would have had to wait another day after the seven to obtain a new fridge. Instead of eight days without a refrigerator I had a new one the next day after another service company checked it out the same day I called.

Not well since the toll free number personnel obviously are either poorly trained or the information available to them is not complete.
Description of Work: We needed a new water heater with installation. I called Sears and the person at the toll free number was courteous and went thru the necessary questions. We were told that two additional items had to be purchased and installed due to building code. These items doubled the cost. I went ahead and told them have their installer call me but was told they had to post the service on their web site so a vendor could pick it up and then he would call us.. While waiting for a call I called our county building code office and was told the two added items were not required but were optional. I then called a local firm and they quoted me a price for a better water heater and at almost half the price. They verified that the two additional items were not required nor needed. I called Sears back and cancelled my order. The local firm came out that afternoon and did a great job.

I called on a Wednesday morning at 10am to by a new water heater and have it installed. We had no hot water so I wanted it done quickly. The Sears web site for water heaters said ''No hot water? Get it today!'' and claimed that same day installation was available if one called before noon. They happily took the order and I paid by credit card for both the water heater and the installation (my mistake). I then did not hear from them for the rest of that day. The next morning I waited until 10am and still had heard nothing. I called and canceled the order.
Description of Work: Response was so slow that I canceled the order.
