Ground Control Landscape Maintenance

This is a very professional company with excellent customer service. The crew does a fantastic job every month on my lawn, and also with trimming and mulch. They certainly have enhanced the look and value of my home and are very much appreciated. Highly recommend them for all the landscaping needs of your home. They do excellent work!

Sadly the owner passed away in early 2020 and the current management has been non-responsive to issues that we encountered with his crew. After seeing the lawn service quality decline for months -- sometimes part of our yard did not even get mowed! it all came to a head when his crew lead cussed my husband out (starting with the F word). I called, sent an email and finally a hardcopy letter, all of which went unanswered. We cancelled our service, and I requested a refund for future service I had already paid for. Still waiting 1 month later. All unfortunate because the former owner cared about his company, and I am sure he would be disappointed in how at least one loyal customer (7 years) was treated.

Most of the service was good, however, some of my property was destroyed and it was not replaced nor did the owner pay me for it. One of my sprinkler heads was damaged, and that was fixed after calling several times, and taking pictures to show that what was said to be repaired was not repaired. I called a couple of times to find out when my lawn was going to be cut, just to be told the people had already come by. I took pictures to show my lawn had not been done, and I was then told a different story. You have to keep track of how many times your lawn is cut because I was shorted 3 lawn cuts, and information clearly stated how many times they were to cut the lawn. I like to know that I can trust a company when I hire them, and that they will stand behind what they tell you before you pay them. It seems like with this company once I paid them in advance because that was a good price, they figured they could treat the customer however they choose to. I gave the company a B because they were not as bad to be rated a C. I just say keep up with your lawn cuts as I did, and check whatever you have in your lawn, sprinkler heads, and especially solar lights.

We have a large yard and have used Paul and his crew since early 2012. They consistently do good work and generally come on a set day every week. We are billed once a month. No complaints about the services! Paul is a terrific guy, very conscientious and friendly. We highly recommend Ground Control.

Started out pretty well, but I rarely ever get calls or emails returned. I was promised to have a tree trimmed nearly a month ago. It still hasn't happened. I found weeds growing in the back that were to have been treated. I even tried to contact them to hire them to do maintenance at my 2nd home and still never heard from them.

I never heard from him. He never made the call that he promised.

The person working on the lawn arrived early before lunch just like the owner said, and he did a great job on my lawn and bushes.

I have them about a year. It's fine. We have a acre of land. They did what they promise what they were gonna do. We are good with it. I am not home when they are doing it. They do come during the day. They are here every week. They don't have a set time. They are here on Thursday. I only talk to the owner.

They were wonderful. They came and did the job and they did a wonderful job without me telling them what to do. They knew what they were doing.

Paul and a worker were extremely polite, hardworking and considerate of all the underground wiring and pipes. Very professional in all aspects of interaction and landscape work.

UPDATE: I did hear from Paul after posting the comments below. Turns out he had a resource issue. He came soon after with the mulch and I am quite satisfied with it. I plan to use him again for some irrigation work. I'm sorry to report this, and I'll change my review later if I hear from this provider, but I've attempted to leave messages on the only phone number available and the mailbox is full. I hope he has not gone out of business!

We were very pleased with this company-they showed on time and spread around the red mulch-it was much more than we expected!

After being away for a long while, the weeds looked somewhat like little trees. The work was well done. The only thing I would criticize is the use of a weed-eater first. This ended up threshing out the weed seeds which now carpet the entire garden bed. Would've been better to manually pull weeds; although, it would have taken longer.

Everyone extremely friendly? professional and quick. I was impressed. A lot was accomplished in just an hour. Will definitely use again.

So far, so good. These guys are very dependable. They come every week rain or shine.

Bought the discount "Deal" for a landscape plan for $45.00. Had to get Angie's List to get him to respond. He finally came by and looked at the yard. Said he would get back to me. After about a month had to get Angie's list again. Nothing. Asked Angie's List for a refund and received it promptly. My guess is that this was just a "come on" to get services performed. Do NOT recommend.

The service turned out real well. They have done an excellent job. They actually wrapped this morning. They have been so far pretty reliable. Every time I have been over to my mother’s house to check on it, it looks good. So, I have no complaints. So far, the job looks very good. I hired a lawn service after my father died for my mother six or seven years ago and they were generally fairly unreliable and the job was not always done, but these guys come out and get to it. The yard looks great. The price is very reasonable. It seems like a good Deal. The other guy did much less for 80 bucks a month and these guys average 100 bucks a month. So, I thought it is a very good deal for what they are doing. They have been out there every time. I have not had to call them out to do anything else. It took us a while to hook up initially because they were in one end of the county and my mother’s house is in the other end. I talked to them this morning for the first time since I hired them and they were courteous and nice. If I get the same deal next year, I will continue this.

We had two garden plots that were overgrown with grass, weeds, etc., and a particularly stubborn invasive bleeding heart plant. The crew took care of everything, trimmed bushes and crepe myrtles, and weeded a few spots in back as well. The yard looks terrific!

I understood the mulch was of a different quality/type. I spoke with Paul and canceled.

On the first day he was supposed to come out it started raining so Paul had to rescheduled. We talked earlier today and he told me that if he couldn't get any machinery in there, he was hesitant to do the work. I had told him from the beginning that all the work I needed could be done by hand. Because of this, I have decided to cancel the Big Deal. I have contacted Angie's List in order to get a refund.

They did an excellent job. They asked if they could trim the other bushes around the house and then did. They did a great job, I plan to hire them again.

They did yet another superb job with my rental property. Within a month of hiring them for lawn care, we had our home rented! They did an excellent job trimming especially all our palm trees and overgrown bushes, lawn mowing, landscaping and maintaining the sprinkler system. They took care of all the weeds including the ones in the pavers! They are professional and very reasonable and never missed a service. Our new tenants have asked us for lawn care service recommendations and we have highly recommended Ground Control Landscape Maintenance to them. They are the best!!

I spoke with Paul on August 11. We set up a meeting to discuss the services he provides for the next day or two. So far we have heard NOTHING from him as he didn't show up either day. I know we've had a lot of rain but if you're advertising to get new customers, you should have the courtesy to make a phone call and at least acknowledge that you can't make the day the new customer expects you to show up. We have since hired someone else who was recommended by a family member of our neighbor who uses this person for her own lawn maintenance and is very pleased with him. We met him today and he will be here next Tues. or Wed. to get started getting our lawn back in its former well-groomed state since our previous lawn person basically abandoned us about 3 weeks ago.

Order completed 7/15. Vendor promptly responded to ask for a phone number on 7/16. The next day on 7/17, we responded to vendor with phone number & friendly message to call anytime and to leave a message in case we were unable to answer immediately. Received next message from vendor on 7/25 that he would call that weekend to arrange a time for the following week. Did not receive a call that weekend, so replied on 7/28 that it was no problem and to call anytime. Sill have received no phone call (or voice message) to date and it has now been 4 weeks since initial purchase of voucher. Looks like our scheduling and communication is not syncing up like we had hoped, so we are requesting a refund & will try with another vendor. Thanks anyway!
