After a friend recommended Weather Engineers to replace my failing AC system, I read the customer reviews – and was skeptical in seeing a family-owned HVAC company garnered several hundred 5-star reviews. After hiring this company, I see that they have earned each one. Owner Nathan took his time to answer all of my questions, sent us background material, and gave me a great price on the unit I wanted (we had already gotten other estimates)…and an appointment for the next day, even though my current AC likely had a few more days of sputtering life. Installer Matt was professional, courteous, exacting, and worked harder than a Type A beaver. Plus he cleaned every speck of debris and took all trash. Nathan then followed with phonecalls to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. This was my first time dealing with Weather Engineers, but it won’t be my last. Excellent work. Great customer experience. Highly recommended!

Cleaned inside & outside units, checked all equipment, changed filter. Since it hadn't been serviced in 10 years, it wasn't an easy job. The office called when the technician was on his way, which was actually a little earlier than the appointment.

Also, the same repair never cost the same. One service guy would charge way more than a different one. They have installed 2 units for me since 2009. During the last one, one of their installers almost fell through my ceiling and created a huge hole. That had to be repaired. I'm just really tired of being jerked around.
Description of Work: I have a unit that was constantly going on the fritz. The last 2 times I told the repairman that I would like to replace the unit. One of their salesman called and said that he would get some numbers for me and get back with me. I requested not to work with Sean because of the way he had worked with me in the past. I never received a follow up call from them. I felt like they just wanted to continue making service calls and racking the charges up.

The repairman did not see where Mike of Weather engineers had replaced ANY parts. He also left without putting the unit back together. It has been 2 weeks now and the ac is working great. The actions of this company and their employ is despicable and a total Rip off. I should have stopped payment on the check but I waited too long. Called to speak with a manager. My calls were not returned.
Description of Work: Called on Friday morning ac not cooling Mike came out within 2 hours, Charged us $302.00. He claimed to have replaced 2 small parts in ac condenser. Said it needed more parts that would be available the following Monday. This would cost another $300 or more. Left 2 senior citizens with multiple health issues on a Friday in 92 degree heat with no air conditioning . After an insufferable day and night with no AC . We had someone come to inspect and repair. The Ac was working within 30 minutes! with NO new parts required!

We had gotten some estimates from other companies but our air was OUT and it was the one random February week that it had gotten very warm, making our home warm and stagnant... with an infant this was not a good time to worry about AC. Nathan Iacobacci, the owner of Weather Engineers quickly gave me an estimate over the phone and sent over a proposal, it was very thorough and reasonable and he actually was able to let us know that the unit we previously had was too small for our home. So he offered a larger unit, more efficient, with a 10 yr parts and labor warranty when other companies, the closest comparison, offered 10 yr parts and 5 yr labor. To top it off he got a crew to come in on overtime and put the unit in ASAP for my wife and infants comfort. The workers came in the mid morning knowing that they would finish around 4, to respect our Saturday morning, they were polite, professional and well presented. They were very kind, introduced themselves, show us what they were doing, how they were going to install, and cleaned up after themselves. They had everything prepared for the inspector in a folder and gave us tips on how to keep the new filter system pristine. The payment and transition was flawless, they handled our fpl discount and since I paid via credit card over the phone sent out a receipt the following day. I would highly recommend them for all your heating and cooling needs.
Description of Work: Installed new AC (inside air handler and outside unit), checked the air ducts for leaks or airflow, disposed of the old materials, and installed a new thermostat.

The price is good compared to the competition and the service tends to be okay once the worker is here but dealing with the office is a real headache. I find the woman who deals with contracts, billing and scheduling is just on her own planet. At this point my contract and billing is so messed up and confusing that I have simply given up on it. As for the actual work done it seems adequate and professional. The only thing that is difficult is they often will ask for an all day window to schedule an appointment and that is just crazy to sit around for 8 hours and waste an entire work day. After debating for a length of time with the brick wall scheduler it is possible to get a 4 hour window which still just seems silly to me but better than 8 hours. If you can put up with their office personnel they do a decent and professional job for you at a good price.

I think it went smoothly. They worked without interruption until the one technician installed the thermostat only to discover one part was defective. A call to the office quickly resulted in the delivery of a replacement. The men cleaned up the work area and finished about 3:00 P. M. One of the main reasons I chose this company aside that it is a Carrier dealer was their 10-year labor warrantee.
Description of Work: The two technicians arrived promptly at 8:30 A. M. and began disassembling the old unit. One man worked almost exclusively with the inside unit while the other worked on the outside one. They worked continuously as they began to install the new Carrier system, while sometimes assisting each other. The old aluminum wire connecting the inside unit to the breaker box was also replaced with a copper one.

The young man who came to seal the ducts was very nice. He was very careful not to mark my walls with the ladder. However, he did NOT cover any of my furniture and left specks of mastic and sealant on my countertops and some of the furniture, which I mentioned as I was following him around cleaning up after him. Furthermore, since I've had other HVAC contractors out doding estimates, I've been told by all of them that he installed the duct board in my return INSIDE OUT! No biggie, but jeeze Louise, such a simple thing and it was done WRONG! See update, above. You have to go behind these people and check EVERYTHING!
Description of Work: Paid FPL $30 to perform HVAC duct leak testing on August 1st, which identifed 11 ducts that needed to be sealed at the supply boots and 1 return that needed to be sealed with duct board. Weather Engineers was on the FPL PIC list, so I spoke to Nathan about doing the repair work. After the FPL rebate the cost to me would be $125.00. Work was later scheduled and completed on August 6th. While on the phone with Nathan asking about prices, I also asked if he could schedule a free in home estmate on replacing my 12 year old system, which was on the fritz again and due for replacement. He said he'd call in a day or two about scheduling the duct sealing work and would schedule an estimte at that time. When Nathan called to say they could do the duct repairr on August 6th, I asked again about scheduling an estimate for replacement. He asked if I had any other estimates yet. I said no, but I had a few contractors scheduled to give estimates the followng week. His response was, "OK, call me with their best quote and I'll beat it." You've got to be kidding me!!!!! UPDATE: Had a recent blower door test done by another contractor bidding on a replacement heat pump system. Discovered a 17CFM air leak at the return grill.... which was "supposedly" sealed by Weather Engineers on 8/6/2012. Come to find out they had NOT sealed the top portion of the return cavity, only the bottom and sides. There was a big hole in the top open to the wall cavity, letting air in from the attic. Called FPL to report the unsatisfactory sealing job. Then called Weather Engineers and they did come within a couple of days. This time they placed a membrane and mastic over the leaking area at the top of the return cavity. Hope it's fixed this time!

They are very good. They show up on time. They tell me ahead of time when they are coming, and they get there at the same time they tell me. They are very professional in the way they do their work. The new heating unit cost me somewhere around $1800. It is hard to tell how their price is, but it is well worth the service, and I would use them again. I had tried probably four others before I got them. They are great.

did not fix the problem of air conditioner not cooling upstairs and also causing mold and mildew, because of the size of the system it is still not right, still costing us money!!!
Description of Work: From day one of having this Carrier Infiniti system put into our home by Weather Engineers it has been a fiasco. We switched to another company after so many problems, they were rude, cursing, would not fix our problems, very poor workmanship, I would never recommend them, We are still having problems. The system they put in in our upstairs is the wrong system for that space they should have known, Carrier Infinity should have also stood behind their product. We are still spending money and it is horrible. Weather Engineers are not a very upstanding company.

Every time they have come down the work is not done in full and I end up calling them again. This way they charge me extra for the same job. I have a warranty of 10years with them, hence have no option out. I do not wish to use their services in future after the last experience.
