This is the worst company. We had a lawn that was selected as the Lawn of the Quarter to now people asking what’s wrong with our yard. They killed my yard and told me it’s crab grass yet the picture they took when they started they admitted did not show any crab grass. Stay away from them if you want a nice yard.

It was only good with one technician who actually cared but once he left it’s was bad before and after him. Called many times to speak to supervisor who would never call back only get someone from office who could care less about helping or customer service. Spend thousands over the last 5 years with this company which was my mistake staying so long. They let my lawn go from st Augustine to Bahia and let bugs ruin half my other yard and had to replace a lot of sod. We have a large yard and sad to see what has happened to it! I highly recommend going somewhere else as the local office does not care about you or your lawn so don’t waste your money. I will say the main call center was good but they have no control over the service you get! The only thing the local office said when I called to cancel was if you come back your price will be double! I will never be back!

It DIDN'T 'GO.' Got a call yesterday, saying TruGreen would be out on Nov 29 to spray my lawn. Today, Nov 29, just before noon, a tech arrived. Because I was on a phone call, I was unable to answer the front door when he knocked. He left without doing ANYTHING. Now, one might say that I'm a cynic, but in years past, we cancelled our service with TruGreen because I literally watched a tech arrive, knock, and leave without providing service. What am I to presume???? Hmmmm. Explains why my lawn looks weak and is full of weeds. Am waiting for a return call from a manager and my blood is BOILING!

It was fine in the beginning, but after being with them for more than 5 years they would miss their appointments and still send me a bill for what they DIDN’T do! Also, when they would spray it didn’t do anything. It was as if they were spraying water; there wasn’t even a smell! So I asked them to lay granuales and they did the first couple of months after i’d asked, then they went back to spraying my property! After going round about w/them I finally cancelled their service. However, even after I hired another company, they kept spraying! I went out several times & confronted the technician, but that was useless. I called the office & told them that their technician was at my house spraying when I cancelled their service & they may have just ruined my lawn since the other company I hired had just sprayed 2 days ago. A couple of weeks later I got a bill so I called the office, this time to ask them about the bill. What they had the nerve to tell me was that I would still have to pay the bill even though I had stopped the service the day it had been sprayed by them over a month ago. Also, when I payed what I thought would be my last service call bill I wrote on the bill CANCEL ALL SERVICES FOR GOOD! So, you can see why I was surprised to see the technician & to receive the bill for the service I had cancelled. This is not a good company, unless they have changed their ways and are now spraying no kidding good fertilizer & bug spray. Also, they have to have stopped trying to cheat their customers.

They've done a pretty good job. I put in $25000 worth of landscaping with a lot of Hibiscus and we got a bugs. They came in and handled the issue.

I have had them for quite a while but I am considering of dropping them. For the significance of the money i am paying them my yard does not look as good as my neighbors. Everything that they do they want to do some extra for I am in a contract with them and its add one thing after another. I can get a local guy to take care of my yard for one quote only. I am not real happy with them right now. I have 2 contracts with them for them our landscaping and shrubs I am happy with that. They did a cinch bug thing that I did not authorize. They call you in advance and give a two hour window and usually show up within that time.

They done alright. I have had TruGreen for several years now. The price is quite a bit. More than I would like to pay. I'm not sure where they can make any improvements at. They come by every month.

They didn't take care of the lawn. I got infestation of bugs in the back and they were very reluctant to fix the problem. The tech that came out to do the spraying was very friendly and courteous and tried to do right but he kept saying that his manager would be out to rectify the problem. The manager never showed up. They brought me some sod plugs to do myself as opposed to them laying it.

I don't know if I'm going to continue using them.

The thing that stands out is they do call back when you do have a problem.

Lawn service deception/disaster. We purchased our home in Fl about 5 years ago. We found much to our dismay the lawn (although new) was brown and weedy and had both cinch bugs and fire ants mounds about. We self treated for about a year with very little success. A lawn company named Lawn Supreme came to our door one day and offered to treat our lawn, shrubs, trees and fire ants with a guarantee that we would not have any problems or they would return and re-treat for free. Within a few months our lawn and shrubs looks wonderful and the fire ants were history. Then a year or so ago Orkin purchased Lawn Supreme. They offered to keep our same contract at the same price which was $49 for Lawn weed and insect control and $35 for tree and shrub service. About two months ago I called Orkin to complain about the number of weeds in my flower beds. They explained that the only thing they could do for the weeds in the flower beds was to spray them with Round- Up, but that because Round-Up was an accumulative chemical and would stay in the soil it would eventually kill all of our plants and shrubs. Well we just spent $1000 replanting our beds this spring so did NOT want that. We had intended to call around to some other lawn companies to ask if they had any different chemicals for treating flowerbed weeds but had not yet done so. Then a young man named of Andrew from TRUGREEN came to our door. He said his company had just been given the go ahead to treat shrubs and flowerbeds with the same chemicals they treat the lawn with for weeds. I no longer had a red fire ant problem at the time but wanted to make certain that we wouldn?t, so I asked him about the red ant treatment and guarantee. He said that usually the treatment did not include red ants, but right now they are running a special that will include treatment for red ants guaranteeing we would not get them back. I showed him a newer problem I was having with some of my house plants on our rear enclosed patio. They appeared to have mold. Andrew assured me those would also be treated in our regular shrub treatment service. Then Andrew told me that his company employees a horticulturist who would visit our home within 2 weeks of our contract to look and see exactly what all our yard, trees and shrubs might need, and then order specific treatment and chemicals for our needs. That all sounded awesome! Then he gave me their prices which were $56.95 for Lawn service and $49.95 for Tree and Shrub service. His price was $7.95 more for lawns, and $14.95 more for shrubs which is a total of $22.90 more than I was already paying with Orkin. So YES it was more money, but we believed it was worth it for a LOT more service. A few days later a TRUGREEN truck came to our home. My husband works from home and sits next to a window that looks out to our front yard. A guy got out of the TRUGREEN truck and carried a bucket from the truck to the side of the house. He never entered the enclosed rear patio area and my husband never saw him get near any trees out front. Then he put a bill at our front door and left. My husband retrieved the bill which said that he treated all of our Palms and trees and shrubs. I called Andrew?s cell. Andrew said not to worry that as soon as he got to the office he would make sure that guy was reprimanded and send out another guy to treat everything as promised. Then about an hour later another guy showed up. I thought this was the re-do service. I explained to this guy about the one who was there prior and asked if he came to treat the weeds in my beds. He was actually the lawn service coming to also to treat. Lawn and Shrub services were supposed to treat separately about every other month each. Then he told me that they do NOT treat flower beds for weeds because it will kill all of my shrubs. I argued explaining that the service I bought did indeed treat the flowerbeds for weeds. Feeling very frustrated I got out our contract which did NOT say they would control weeds in our flower beds or guarantee against fire ants. I immediately called Andrew, who didn?t answer this time. Then I called TRUGREEN asking to speak to a manager. The guy who answered insisted I explain to him exactly why I want to speak to a manager first. Finally he gave me to Cindy who was supposedly a manager. I asked to speak to a district or regional manger. She kept insisting I could cancel the service if I was unsatisfied but they do not treat flowerbeds for weeds AND also that I did NOT have a guaranteed treatment for fire ants as promised by Andrew. I wanted to speak to a manager because THAT was the service I purchased. She didn?t understand why I would be upset that I had just canceled my service with the old company and now signed up with them to pay $22.90 MORE for a lesser service. Less because they would NOT TREAT FOR OR GUARANTEE against red fire ants. I requested several times to speak to a district manager. She finally said she would have Shawn who is Andrews?s manager call me back within the next few hours. He never called. Two days later I called a number I found for the TRUGREEN corporate office and spoke to Jason. I explained the whole story again and asked to speak with a district manager. Jason assured me that a manager would get back to me. Then the same day, that same Cindy called me. She offered me a deal. She said ?as a courtesy? if we got red ants in the next year, they would come out and treat for me as a onetime courtesy for free but I?d be charged their regular contracted rate of $22.90 a month more than I was paying to Orkin. I asked her to explain HOW I was supposed to be happy about paying MORE for a service which now you are giving me a courtesy service IF I need it for one year when I had that contracted guaranteed indefinitely before for $22.90 less? She insisted that they were offering me a great deal and asked me what I wanted. I told her that I wanted to speak to a district manager. She finally said she would have Shawn call me. Shawn did call a little while later and he too asked what I wanted. I explained that felt that they should not only match what I had with Orkin but because of the false promises on their part, AND the week of undue stress trying to get it straightened out, they should give me a discount of actually charging me LESS than I was contracted for with Orkin. He said he did not have authority to approve that and would have to talk to a district manager. WOW! We agreed! Finally the next day, Ron, a district sales manager called me. He was rude and quite blunt. He said multiple times that any service contract between a client and TRUGREEN would need to be beneficial on both parts, but that our relationship thus far would NOT fit that bill. He insisted that Andrew, though improperly trained by them, needed to be given grace for his mistakes and that I as a customer should be more than happy to accept or decline their service now. I asked him to please explain EXACTLY what they were now offering me and WHY did he feel that it should be me who paid for his improperly trained salesmen mistakes? He finally offered to give me THE EXACT SAME TREATMENT AS I HAD FROM Orkin, for the same price that I paid to Orkin for a 1 year period, after which I would be charged their full rate. WOWOWOWWW what a deal! On top of that FIREANTS started breeding thru out the yard again. We figured after 4 years with no fire ants now they couldn't have been treating for them. In short. TRUGREEN came to my door soliciting my business offering me a service which my current company did not offer. It cost more, but was worth it! After canceling our old service, then they say ?oops, we made a mistake? and could not deliver the goods. Now they want me to be happy to receive LESS service than what we had with our prior company for MORE money. After a week full of stress and explaining and complaining to 5 different TRUGREEN people, they finally agree to give me the same service I had with the old company for the same price for 1 year then pay the full rate... Gee thanks! In two months time our yard was FULL of RED ANTS, and CINCH BUGS again PLUS NOW WHITE FLY IN MY ENTIRE CLOSED IN PATIO. What a mess!!! We are STILL TREATING For this new problem. We NEVER should have listened to them, a mistake that has cost us dearly! RIP OFFS! Run from them!!!

They weren't worst but they just didn't do much. They do the job for ten minutes. The staff was okay. I just didn't see where it was helping.

When the year is up I will switch companies. i have already paid for a year to receive small discount. Scott's began servicing our yard in July 2014 and by October our yard looked worse. I talked to the guy who sprays the lawn on his first visit and to go around the yard with him to discuss our concerns. After speaking with him on three occasions I called to speak with the branch manager but was directed to another manager. Immediately he was defensive and rude and didn't know what they could do to help us with our lawn. He kept saying it was because of the nitrogen ban during the summer months that was the reason for our yard's appearance. This is not true for a few reasons. We have lived in this house for 30 years and the yard has never looked worse. I wrote to the branch manager and have yet to hear from anyone.

It has gone very well so far. They are always on time and they do a great job. They call the day before to let you know they are coming out, and leave a notice on the lawn that it has been treated.

They started in 11/1/13 and put down one application in November. They came back in January for the next application and what ever they used killed the grass in three weeks. To be clear, they don't spray near the borders of the lawn for fear of damaging the pavers or staining the side walk, so I have nice green grass growing about 6-8" wide around the entire yard, and just yellow or death everywhere else. Where it is yellow, it has been dying off. The technician saw the lawn when he came back in early February and said it was suddenly some sort of Maganese deficiency. Never had that the 5.5 years prior, and suddenly in 3 months, it was enough to turn a thick healthy lawn into yellow and dirt. Interesting. He said he would put stuff down and in 7-10 days, it would be better. That did not happen. After having to call through the labyrinth of Trugreen call centers, I was promised a call back in 24 hours. That never happened. In fact, it took 4 more calls over the course of 6 days to finally find a person named Randy, who then scheduled and appointment that he missed. He did come the next day (3/18/14). He agreed something killed the lawn, acknowledged it was them by the fact that it matched the spray pattern, and said yet another special application would fix it. Well, it is now the second week of May, Randy has been out 4 more times since, 5 or 6 special applications later, and there is very little left. In early April, Randy promised to re-sod portions of the lawn, and that has not happened. On May 5, his answer was yes, they just run on their own schedule, and oh, I think another special application might help. I've kept the tickets of what has been put down, and they are just applying a common weed and feed granular fertilizer - not so special. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results I have called numerous times trying to find effective management, and it is a concerted, deliberate run around of avoid and delay, always back to Randy. You would have to be absolutely stupid to use these people. Please don't repeat my mistake.

What a mistake doing business with these people. Signed up for lawn care 2/4/14 and received first treatment 2/7/14. After about a month the lawn showed no improvement. I contacted the company as to when I would received my next treatment (I was told by the salesman I would have treatment every four weeks during the growing season). Customer service informed that the treatments were every five weeks. I was told by customer service that I was scheduled for service that week. Service wasn't performed until the following Tuesday. 4/14/2014 I contacted customer service because my lawn looked terrible and much worse when they started. I know this because I took pictures to compare the results of the treatments. A fellow named Duck (that what he said his mane was) came around the next day. To make a long story short, Duck was a rude, condescending individual and didn't seem to really care about my concerns. Instead of treating me like a client, he seem to want to point out my lack of knowledge about lawn maintenance. After taking enough abuse, I told him I wanted to discontinue services with Scotts and demanded a refund of the remaining portion of payment. I want to reemphasize that my lawn looks far worse after using Scotts lawn service and will have to repair the damage done by them.

They come once a month. I like them. They will come right out any time there is a problem. There was some pesticide that had gotten out of their truck and on the edge of my grass and killed some grass. They came out and planted new grass so if they make a mistake, they will take care of it.

I complained and was informed that the chinch bug portion of our agreement had been cancelled. I had not cancel it & wasn't informed that it was no longer covered. I complained to TruGreen's Customer Service Dept & they credited our account. The local office contacted me & confirmed the credit and then the lady stated, "We will never come to your yard again to treat chinch bugs". That attitude was totally unacceptable and I cancelled our account with them.

I complained and was told the chinch bug coverage had been cancelled. I had not cancelled it & had not been informed when it had been cancelled. After repeated contacts with Trugreen's customer service reps, I was informed they were sorry about the "mis-understanding" & would credit my account the $64.05 in question. The next day, my wife received a call from our local rep who verified the credit and then stated: "We will never treat your lawn for chinch bugs again". Based on that statement, on 7/5, I contacted TruGreen to cancel our accout & when asked why, I related the above scenerio. I made it clear that kind of customer service was totally unacceptable & I wanted to cancel our account. I requested a cancellation number & was informed the cancellation would be made but there was no cancellation number. I told the rep there was a statement on the back of my bill that stated: "You may cancel your account at any time. Be sure to request and receive a cancellation number", and she responded that there was no such number available.

Changed to a better company

The lawn fertilizing work performed was punctual and acceptable, but the nuisance created by their rigid business practices eclipsed the service they were being paid to perform. I complained twice about their practice of stuffing lawn service receipts in the front door because it sets off the burglar alarm. They insisted that company policy was to leave a receipt, even on auto-pay accounts like mine. They did promise to put the paper in the mailbox, which occurred one time. This April, the service person put the receipt in the door again, fortunately I was home so the alarm was not armed. In addition, I asked that they stop Robo-calls to alert me of pending service visits. They could not stop the calls either. With TruGreen, it appears that "one size fits all," and for me, the fit was terrible.

.They were charging me 40 dollars a month and then they changed it to 50 dollars a month without consulting me. I felt that was high. I did not feel the guy was doing a good job. I did not like how they raised their rates so much. I was aggravated by that. To jump from 40 to 50 dollars is not acceptable.

See above. I just cancelled our services. I should have done it long ago.

My husband knows about it more. We have asked them to call before they come because we have a lot on the back. We don't think in two years, they have done that. They come and do only the part of the lawn and they stick the bill on the door. We always have to call them and say that the back was locked. Of course, they couldn't finish the work because if they would have called before and we would have all that done. I just hear my husband complaining. The price is all right. They generally have to come back twice. The main problem is the scheduling. They harass us to do more than he is ready to do, and we don't like that. If we could find an individual person then that would work out fine. They do what they do until we find an individual contractor, then we would keep with Scotts.

They come quarterly and spray just outside the house. The guys that I've run into are pretty knowledgeable. You never see them but you never see buds either. It amazes me how it is so efficient quarterly but it is. They are very good and responsive.
