+ -1 moreWas quoted $90 for the service. Was told that the $90 included diagnostics and minor labor. Talked to the repairman before he arrived and asked that he call me if it exceeded the $90. The repairman defrosted the line and charged me $240 total. There was no call back about the additional charge. Completely unauthorized. Now I have to fight Sears on the charge.
Description of Work: Needed a clogged refrigerator drain line cleared.

+ -1 moreHad old refrigerator which stopped cooling. It was easy to make appointment and Sears repairman was punctual, but he did not seem to put a lot of effort into trying to solve my problem. Since the fridge was not running, he said could not tell whether it needed a thermostat or other part and he could replace both parts at cost over $300. I declined, and was given a credit to buy a new fridge at Sears which would have covered most of my repair call cost - that was nice. However, my husband was able to buy thermostat for $50 and replace himself and it is now working fine, so we did not use the store credit and thus paid $79 for not very helpful repair call.
Description of Work: Needed evaluation of old fridge which stopped cooling - not sure whether to repair or replace. Estimated cost of repair was too high to justify so did not proceed with Sears performing repair. My husband was later able to fix for a fraction of cost.

+ -1 moreWe were very unhappy and will not purchase anything from Sears in the future that might require their support after the sale.
Description of Work: Every major appliance we have owned for 40 years has been purchased from Sears. This is partly because of the service they have always provided. We had a refrigerator and a freezer dying at the same time. Both had been purchased from Sears. When we called Sears for service we discovered they have gone global. We were facing the loss of hundreds of dollars worth of food and someone hundreds of miles away was telling us the best she could do was an appointment a week in the future. The freezer was still under warranty so we had to deal with Sears for that appliance. We called a local appliance dealer who had someone out within the hour to try to repair the refrigerator. When it was determined it could not be repaired we made the decision to purchase a new one from this local, family owned dealer. We got a very nice refrigerator for less than we would have paid at Sears or any other "big box" dealer, delivered within a couple hours and we feel confident we will get an immediate response if we need service. We will not purchase anything from Sears in the future that might require their support after the sale.

+ 0 moreNo matter what they are coming out to fix, the service call is $100.00 for their service calls. If the door bell breaks, and it takes the man 5 minutes, it is the same fee. However, if they have to come out and completely rebuild your fridge, it is still $100.00. They run through American Home Shield. I will absolutely use them again. This is a franchise, so the contractors and experiences vary. I have found them to be fantastic, no matter where I used them.

+ -1 moreSEARS - Appliance Repair - Large Fixed the refrigerator several times. Fixed the microwave, and put in a new garbage disposal. I trust them, and have never had a problem. They are on time, friendly, professional, and don't rip you off.
Description of Work: SEARS - Appliance Repair - Large I used them to repair my refrigerator several times, they were out again in July. I have warranty's so it didn't cost.
