The job was done by only one person, Victor. He was very prompt and liked to start early in the morning (7:15). He was courteous and very good at explaining the process. He showed us pictures and samples of the paint colors and stamps so we would know what it looked like when it was done. All-in-all he did a good job. I'm an engineer so to my fault, there were some area I believe could have been done a little better. Being in Florida, and it being July, it was quite hot. So he could only apply about a 8-10 sq. ft. area of concrete overlay at a time because he had to stamp it with the pattern before the concrete started to solidify. As a result, the transition areas where each application of the concrete overlay meet with the previous one, did not turn out as smooth and transparent as I would have liked. When I mentioned this, he did make an effort to sand any rough transition area down but buy this time the overlay was hard and difficult to work with. This was only in two area. the reminder of the deck and patio was fine. Again, my wife is thrilled about the new look. We have grand kids over constantly and the overlay surface paint is a non-skid type of texture so this will prevent slipping. I would definitely recommend Modern Concrete Design.

Pool Deck Resurfacing: Modern Concrete Designs Inc. Sergio is one of the nicest, hardest working and most accommodating contractors I have ever employed. However, the artistry of working with cement is not yet there. The edges of the work are the most noticeable. They were scraped to taper them and yes, the residue ended up either in the pool or off the surrounding deck edge. Much of the new edging did not even cover the original deck. To Sergio?s credit, he was taught that sealer and topcoat would cover the imperfections. I spoke with Ash, the president of the company about this, and he assured me that the edges would never be noticed after the sealers are applied. Totally not true. The concrete was applied in stages, and the result was noticeable areas of adjoining applications that did not flow smoothly together causing visible ridges between the various applications. This was to be a stamped Sea Floor project with Shells, Starfish and Seahorses highlighting the underlying concrete. The stamping sheets had long ago outlived their usefulness as evidenced by pieces of it left in the pool and along the outside edges. A few areas had left little or no impressions. The stamper was a ?helper? and this resulted in concrete splatters over furniture and an adjoining wood deck along with the walls and screens on the back porch. The top coat which contains Acetone was sprayed on and suffered from considerable overspray. The next morning I discovered a floating sheet of topcoat that covered almost half of the pool water. This took two days of netting and filter changing to remove the acetone and the concrete residue. I should note that I was given a $100 rebate, if I did the cleanup myself. Upon reflection that was not a wise decision on my part to accept. Sergio with time and self-determination will improve his skill, but at this moment I cannot recommend Modern Concrete Designs Inc. for pool deck resurfacing. Project cost: $2200, clean up and living with the results, priceless!

Ash was prompt in giving us a quote, scheduled the work within a few weeks and other than a weather delay he came and power washed the deck, gave the deck an excellent resurface, hiding all the cracks and chips, sealed and clear coated the final product. We are very pleased and have shown several neighbors the work.

Excellent. This company was very reliable and did excellent work. He always answered his phone or returned my call. He did everything he said he would do on the quote. He started the job on a Monday the week of Thanksgiving. It rained Tuesday and Wednesday. He came out and finish the job himself on Thanksgiving morning to complete this job on time. He was very professional in his work was incredible. My back patio, front porch and sidewalk is it simply beautiful.

It went very well. Very professional and always punctual. Sergio is the one who did the job. He was always pleasant and did a very nice job.
